Christmas Shopper Simulator is Stupid, Fun and Free!

Some of the best free fun you can have. Stupid premise for a game, but it's funny and free. So who cares?

To start off with I had never even heard of this game till my nephew was watching a video of this game on Youtube. I was like “what?”. There is a game for this, really? Yup, there is.

The game is as stupid as the title sounds, but it isn’t all bad! Imagine Dead Rising, only without all the cool weapons and zombies, crossed with Goat Simulator. It’s actually a lot like Goat Simulator.

The only weapon you have is your kick. Other than that the only other semi weapon you have is a tether you can attach to things (and people) and drag them around, like the goat uses his tongue in Goat Simulator. Just like those games, knocking over mall patrons and destroying stuff, is actually kind of fun.

Knocking over mall patrons or kicking them is entertaining due to the great ragdoll physics the game has. So hoofing someone through a plate glass store window is possible. In fact I highly recommend it as it is likely the most fun you will have in this game, besides shoplifting.

Let’s face it, this game does not have a lot going for it, so as a bonus they include quests. Quests of course involve “fetch and grab” mostly and that’s where shoplifting comes in. When you remove something from a store without paying, security will come and try to take it from you. All you can do is run away. They are the only NPC that cannot be knocked over or kicked.

The graphics and sound are ok, and the engine is actually not bad at all. What did you expect for a free game? It looks as good as most console games and plays about the same. PC control is quite good.

The only real problem in the game is no saves that I can see. If you leave the game you must start the questing over again. I do recall the first versions of Goat Simulator and it looks for all the world like this game is built on the exact same engine.

Ragdoll effects mode is available at the touch of a button and can make for some funny moments like the one above. For as little point as there is to this game, this kind of wanton stupidity can be kind of entertaining. You can also fart at the touch of a button which can make blowing objects (like cardboard standee displays) over, pretty hilarious.

Unlike many of my reviews, this one does not need to be long winded or detailed because there is not much more to the game. I don’t need to tell you why it might be worth your money because it’s free. Go download it and have some stupid fun. It’s only about a 265MB download so it does not take long to download on high speed. You know you want to.
