New Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Trailer Gives Sneak Peek at Pokemon Home Life

Mega Evolutions make a comeback too, with a few other changes beside.

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo released a new trailer for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, highlighting its gameplay. The trailer also gives us a look at the too-adorable Pokemon you’ll be spending your time with and listening to lies with.

The trailer itself doesn’t show much new, other than the gorgeous storybook art style used for the reimagining. However, an accompanying press release outlines a few new additions and changes to the game from the original Blue and Red Rescue Team games.

Mega Evolutions make an appearance, which makes sense given the majority of Mega Evolved Pokemon come from Gens I and III. Some of these include Venusaur, Charizard, Gengar, Sableye, Altaria, and Gardevoir. A bit more mysterious is mention of “Pokemon whose evolved forms haven’t been discovered yet,” adding a bit of mystery to the impending release.

Another change is to the IQ Abilities available for Pokemon in previous games. These are now Rare Abilities, learned through eating Gummies (because, of course). And they’re pretty useful too, with Small Stomach slowing the hunger meter’s progress and Narrow Focus increasing accuracy for moves used in corridors.

The Pokemon Company is promising even more surprises on the way. That’s good, since it seems like a lovely, but slightly unnecessary remake otherwise.

Still, we’ll jump at any chance to be a Pokemon and hang out with other Pokemon. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX news as it crawls out of the dungeon ahead of its March 6 release on Nintendo Switch.
