Engaging your community can be difficult if you don't know where to begin. Here are a few tips to get your started.

With the new World of Warcraft expansion almost here, many guilds are starting to reform and sound the warhorn to their members. Here are a few tips to get everyone as excited as you are for Warlords of Draenor, and re-engage your community.

1. Simply ask for participation

You want to remind returning members why they joined in the first place; they love your community. Have regular posts, ask your active members to respond and make new discussions, just make sure to ask for participation. They can’t know that you are looking for more guild activity if you don’t ask for it!

2. Share guild screenshots

If your guild has ever raided, or engaged in PVP, or just enjoys photo opportunities, share those memories. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so let your memories speak for themselves.

3. Reward your contributors

Don’t force your current members to take part in the community, reward them when they do. A rare in-game item, some gold, first spot on the dungeon group. You don’t even have to give something, many members are happy with simple recognition – have a “Guild Member of the Week” to spotlight your active community.

4. Have a special group for your most active members

Everyone wants to feel special, and the members of your community are no different. Have a private forum or discussion area for your top 5 – 10, most active members. Let them chat, pick their brain about the pros and cons of the guild, and use them as a potential pool for Guild Officers.

5. Invite N00bs

Taking a new player under your wing and showing them the ropes can be a very rewarding experience, and they could be the most active members of your community. Don’t hesitate to invite new players and enjoy the perspective they bring to your community.
