What game would you expect to be the first release announcement of 2013? Probably not the sequel to the 2009 sleeper hit Zeno Clash — but hey, it’s a pretty good announcement.
Carlos Bordeu, head designer at developer ACE Team, announced Zeno Clash 2 on the forums earlier today with a link to the official site. Bordeu stated that the release would be sometime this spring, though he doesn’t know the date or month yet.
The official site has the trailer that was shown at 2012’s E3, as well as some new screenshots for you to gawk at if you’re anticipating this game as much as I am.
The original Zeno Clash was a unique experience, and it will be interesting to see how ACE Team makes a follow up. Improving the gameplay would be nice, but expanding on the world already created in the original game is what I look forward to the most. Let’s hope they just as good of a job with the feel of Zeno Clash 2 as they did with the original.
