Recently, IGN released a video (above) with a behind-the-scenes look at the 10 year journey in the development of Final Fantasy XV. In this video, Square Enix discusses the challenges and risks they take to create what they believe will be the ultimate Final Fantasy game.
The diverse development team consists of members that worked on previous Final Fantasy titles. The team brings their collective experiences to work together and a create unique game. They desire to challenge themselves and push the limits of the genre.
The team’s main focus is on modernizing the game. They aim to meet the standards of Western AAA titles, while still keeping the feel of a Final Fantasy game. The challenge in doing this is combining and refining new and old features to create a unique game, while ensuring that none of the elements of the game are lacking.
Final Fantasy XV is going to be released on September 30, 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
With all the work that was put into this game, it’s sure to be an amazing one.
