Xbox One users are getting some pretty cool apps starting with an all new Syfy Now to tune in for Sharknado 2: The Second One.

Some great news for Xbox One owners, an all-new Syfy Now app is now available to download for free in the App Store via your dashboard.

You can use the app access full episodes of all you favorite shows, including same-day or next day airing of new episodes. Simply download the app, select an episode, and register your console on by selecting your cable provider. Sounds like a win-win to me.

Did you miss the premiere of Sharknado 2: The Second One on Syfy? The sequel to Sharknado starring Ian Ziering and Tara Reid? Now thanks to an announcement today by Microsoft, Syfy and NBCUniversal, you can catch up.

"Our goal is to help our customers have more fun, and we are excited to offer them an ever-expanding range of quality gaming and entertainment experiences with partners like NBCUniversal," said Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President at Xbox, in a press release today.

Syfy Now and USA Now are the first apps to arrive from the NBCUniversal's "TV Everywhere" program available now on Xbox One. Other apps are said to arrive on the console sometime by the end of 2014 including Twitter, HBOGo, and Showtime Anytime.

In case you were wondering, Sharknado 2: The Second One is a disaster genre film and sequel to the 2013 Sharknado. Returning actors Tara Reid and Ian Ziering reprise their roles from the first film along with Vivica A. Fox, Kari Wuhrer, Kelly Osbourne, Benjy Bronk, Judah Friedlander, Andy Dick, and TNA superstar Kurt Angle joining the cast. The film premiered on July 30, 2014 and this time takes place in New York City.

Syfy has also announced that there will be a Sharknado 3 to premiere sometime in 2015.
