Deleting an Article

posted by (Featured Correspondent) 4 years ago

Hi fellow GameSkinny community, I was wondering if it is possible to delete a draft or unwanted article on your profile. I have a few drafts that I want to get rid of. I apologize if this has already been covered here, I just haven't found a way to delete them yet -- if it's even possible. Thanks for the help!

Is there a way to delete a post that has already been publicly published?

We can remove an article, but we won't except in extreme circumstances.

One of our editors or admins can delete drafts if you truly no longer want them. You can send me an email (ste.grainer@gameskinny.com) and tell me which draft posts you'd like deleted.

Alternately, you can always repurpose an unpublished draft as a completely new article - just give it a new title and it's as good as new.

Thanks for the help! I'll probably just turn my unwanted drafts into a brand new article.

Just to let you know, if you use your old drafts, they are queued from when you first saved it. So if you are using one from 2 weeks ago say, if it's a really good one and it gets featured, it won't show up on the front page because the days on which it would show up are already past.

If you want your article to get as much front-page exposure as possible, I would recommend just starting a new one.

    Good to know.

the only issue that arises from this is back in the day doing this meant it never showed up on the front page. It's why I stopped doing drafts all together, and doing full articles in one go.
