News broke yesterday that League of Legends is set to join Game of Thrones in a promotional campaign leading up to the Game of Thrones premiere in April. While this campaigning may involved other components, it has been confirmed that a mash-up trailer is in production.
So let's fantasy cast our favorite League of Legends champs as Game of Thrones characters! Starting with...
Swain as Tyrion
Before you all start freaking out that I didn't cast Tyrion as a yordle...hear me out.
Both Tyrion and Swain have...handicaps. Tyrion is simply smaller than most, which sets him up for mean pranks from his nephew Joffrey. Swain broke his leg badly as a young man and has limped with a cane ever since. Need more convincing?
Okay okay, they have more in common. They both are slightly mysterious, play power games, and want to lead. I know they don't look a thing a like, but they're basically like twins. I swear!
Darius as Bronn
If Tyrion is Swain, that means Darius gets to be Bronn. Don't like it? Too bad. In League of Legends lore Darius is much more akin to royalty than Bronn is in Game of Thrones. However, Darius has absolute loyalty to Swain wants to see him rise to the top of the dog pile.
Bronn is likewise with Tyrion through all his trials and tribulations. Sure, Tyrion pays Bronn instead of inspiring life-long loyalty. Sooooo Darius and Bronn might not be that much alike, but I wouldn't dream of splitting up the Swain/Darius broship... which is stronger than the tie Darius has with his actual bro.

Amumu as Theon Greyjoy
Who's the most emo character in Game of Thrones? Could it possibly be...Theon Greyjoy? Oh yes, yes I think it is. Theon is constantly complaining about his lot in life, anbd nothing ever goes right for him. He's a downright Eeyore. That's why everyone's favorite sad mummy, Amumu is the perfect champion to play him.
Amumu knows what pain feels like, he cries all the time because of it. PLUS Amumu is covered in bandages, which Theon would probably like to be in right now...because of spoilers.
King Tryndamere as Robb Stark
King Tryndamere as Robb Stark may be the most obvious pairing of the bunch. They're both kings in the north, they both have big swords, and both of their lands are under seige (sometimes).
Robb is less of a barbarian (thank goodness) but otherwise, they're bascially the same person.
Queen Ashe as Talia Stark
Every king needs a queen. Robb Stark has Talisa, and Tryndamere has Ashe. Even though Talisa Stark never looks queenly (she's covered in mud half the time!) she deserves to be played by someone who does.
To be honest, Catelyn Stark may be more Ashe-like (she's more queenly in my opinion) I just can't separate the Tryndamere/Ashe marriage.
Sejuani as Ygritte
Because of certain...Red Wedding related deaths, the crown for the North is up for grabs, something Ygritte and Sejuani wouldn't mind nabbing for themselves.
Ygritte might not have a might boar to ride on, but she's vicious and hard like a clan leader Sejuani. I'm still hoping that Ygritte and Jon Snow reunite, but if not beware this winter warrior!
Fiora as Arya Stark
Arya Stark may not be deadly with a sword yet, but she will be one day! Fiora is who Arya would like to grow up to be, and I see no reason why we can't make this happen. Fiora will take care of everyone on your list Arya!
Lux as Sansa
I mentioned this pairing yesterday, and after a night's sleep I stil think Lux should play Sansa Stark. They're both young, nice women who are still unsure of the ways of the world. If Lux got kidnapped by Noxian forces, she would be just as useless (sorry lux).
Nunu (Wilhem + Nun) as Bran (Bran + Hodor)
Bran and Hodor and Wilhem and Nunu share a similar relationship. Bran and Hodor are friends, which is the only reason that Hodor would allow Bran the privelege of riding on his back. Similarly, Wilhem and the yeti Nunu have mutual respect as the basis of their partnership.
Also, let's be honest, I couldn't think of anything of Champion to use here. Not many children fighting in the League of Legends.
Rammus as Hodor
Hodor and Rammus are both known for one thing: lack of verbal comprehension. Rammus at least has an excuse. As a mutated monster who originally began life as a normal armadillo, you can't expect him to say much. I'm not sure what Hodor's excuse is, but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume some trauma in his past.
It might be tough to teach Rammus to say "Hodor" instead of "Okay" - but I think its within the realm of possibility. There isn't any way for Rammus to carry someone on his back though...
Leona as Brienne of Tarth
Brienne is the most physical woman in Game of Thrones, and therefore she needs a champion equally as strong to play her. Leona may have beauty in addition to her brawn, but she's an imposing swordsman and defender of good.
Leona is also the only female tank character in League of Legends, something that Brienne can probably relate to. If we're not careful, the two will become friends and then we're all doomed.
Those fantasy casts are just the tip of the iceberg - there are still many more characters to cast. Who is handsome enough to play as Jaime Lannister or Jon Snow? Is there a misguided mage able to step in for Melisandre? Let me know your picks in the comments!
