RONIN and Pixies vs. Expendables

Recommended Videos

Riding high from their victory over tournament favourites Why Dash, RONIN and Pixies opted for an unusual setup including an ECM battleship and a heavily shield-tanked support fleet with logistics support. The Expendables chose a three battlecruiser led fleet with a damage-focused supporting team. The question would be whether the damage could be applied in spite of heavy ECM from RONIN and pixies‘ Widow.

The brawl quickly ensued with the Expendables losing every one of their four frigates without reply. Clearly RONIN and pixies electronic warfare was paying off and stifling the enemy. Any damage coming from Expendables ships still able to lock a target was easily dealt with by the Basilisk logistics cruiser which was being fed vital capacitor by the Widow. In the closing minutes of the match only the Expendables two Claymore battlecruisers remained and they were helpless against the full force of RONIN and pixies.

RESULT: RONIN and pixies 54 – 0 Expendables

Tengu Terror vs. Africa’s Finest

Tengu Terror‘s seven-ship Vargur-led setup favoured electronic warfare, whereas Africa’s Finest had a full compliment of eight ships comprising two hard-hitting and tough Kronos battleships with some fast tackling frigates and an energy-draining Sentinel cruiser.

The match began at range with early shots from Tengu Terror attempting to remove the Africa’s Finest Sentinel from the field. Despite attempts from Tengu Terror‘s Griffin ECM frigates to foil repair efforts, the Africa’s Finest logistics pilot managed to save the Sentinel from obliteration. Trying to score a kill, Tengu Teror started to spread fire across the enemy fleet, successfully destroying an Incursus frigate. Little weapons fire was being returned by Africa’s Finest, still hampered by ECM, until finally they managed to destroy one of the nuisance Griffins.

Africa’s Finest managed to webify the Tengu Terror Celestis cruiser, slowing it down long enough for it to be destroyed. The tackling Incursus quickly moved onto the enemy Muninn cruiser which swiftly received the same treatment. Vengeance was eventually delivered by Tengu Terror by destroying the troublesome Incursus. With most of the small tacklers off the field, the match slowed. At 23-4, Africa’s Finest were in control with less than two minutes to go. Further fire was exchanged and a Tengu Terror Vargur fell to a Kronos barrage, sealing the victory.

RESULT: Africa’s Finest 40 – 4 Tengu Terror
