Top 5 Reasons to Return to Yharnam and Play Bloodborne Again

If you ever missed Bloodborne or needed a reason to replay it, here they are.
If you ever missed Bloodborne or needed a reason to replay it, here they are.

If you're anything like me, in other words, a Souls-virgin who wanted to see what all the fuss is about, then you probably played Bloodborne. And kudos to you for finishing it (even if you finished the last boss with co-op help).

There's that great sense of achievement and relief after finishing a game like Bloodborne. No more dying, no more rage, no more.... Blood. But there's also that feeling in you that pulls you back and makes you want to play this masterpiece again.

For all of you who are wondering if replaying Bloodborne is worth your time, here are some good reasons to make up your mind.

1. Combat

It might not seem like a big motivator, but the gameplay, and especially the combat were the main highlights of this game. The devs didn't rely on cheap puzzles and lame quick-time events to make you feel engaged. The fast-paced movement and high stakes hand-to-hand fighting was enough to get your heart pounding. Don't you just miss dealing a visceral attack? Or the final blow to the boss to get that ever so rewarding "Prey Slaughtered" sign?

2. What about all the OTHER bosses?

We've had fun killing Father Gascoigne, Vicar Amelia, Blood Starved Beast, etc. But there are other bosses out there. And I don't know about you but the bosses were the most fun part of the entire game for me. The stakes have never felt higher than in those situations. In case you didn't know (or you just chose to skip it), there are quite a few optional bosses in the world of Yharnam. There are bosses like Amygdala, Darkbeast Paarl, all the chalice dungeon bosses, and many more waiting for you.

And if that's not enough, the new game+ mode amps up the difficulty of these bosses considerably. Good Hunting to you all!

3. The Story

For all you fans out there who want to know anything and everything about the game's story, playing again for a 2nd or 3rd time can help you understand the story better. It's like when you watched Inception or Interstellar for the first time and said, "What the hell just happened!?"

But then, when you watch it again, it all starts to make sense, little by little. The same can be applied to Bloodborne. You begin to discover more of what the Healing Church does, the story behind Father Gascoigne and the Tiny Music Box you can use to defeat him.

4. Secret Ending

In case you didn't know, there's a secret ending that you can unlock through collecting a certain set of items in the game. All you need to do is find all 3 of the One Third Umbilical Chords and consume them before fighting the last boss.

I won't say anymore, wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!

5. Collect ALL the Weapons!

One of my favorite things about Bloodborne is the intricate weapon designs, especially the trick weapons. Chances are you won't have collected ALL the weapons in the game on your first playthrough. Aside from the first set of weapons that you get, there are so many more in the game to unlock. And each of those weapons has a different style from the other.

It's going to take a while to become a master bladesmen in this game. Take your time and go nuts!

I've been playing games since I was small but only started to really observe and critique a few years back. Been writing reviews for games (albeit, old games because not everyone can have a crazy fast rig). When I'm not writing about games, I generally do some photography as well, so check that out if you've got some time.
