This is an exciting day for World of Warcraft players who are hooked on the lore–not the fiery cinder kitten on the forums. Blizzard Entertainment is teaming up with Dark Horse Comics for a multi-volume series on Warcraft‘s in-game history called World of Warcraft®: Chronicle.

This won’t just be a repeated tale how Orcs fought Humans on the world known as Azeroth, but will go back through time to the very cosmos and creation of the world. World of Warcraft®: Chronicle Volume 1 will reveal the the untold stories of the rise of ancient empires, the forces that shaped Azeroth, and its people.

Don’t worry, it has Blizzard Entertainment all over it, it is simply being published thanks to Dark Horse Comics. World of Warcraft®: Chronicle will be a hardcover book written by Story Developer Matt Burns and Robert Brooks and with over twenty-five pages of beautiful illustrations by World of Warcraft Artist Peter Lee.

Chief Operating Officer Paul Sams of Blizzard Entertainment stated:

We often get questions from players who want to know more about the origins of the Warcraft universe, and the rise and fall of their favorite characters. This new series digs deeply into all of that—we can’t wait for players to read it.

After talking with Blizzard Entertainment Writer Micky Neilson at BlizzCon 2014, he had revealed that this first volume is going to cover the very first battle on Azeroth: Titans vs Old Gods. This is super exciting since both of these have been repeatedly asked about year-after-year at BlizzCon. All that information players have been salivating for should be in this volume.

Neilson has been excited for this series since they’ll be a nice, physical book with all the information at his fingertips. And many other avid lorewalkers will want this lining their bookshelves.

World of Warcraft®: Chronicle Volume 1 will be available for purchase on November 4, 2015 in comic stores and later in book stores on November 17thPreorders available today!
