Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, the fourth installment in the Ace Attorney series, has been announced. The game will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS via the eShop in November, and it will feature updated visuals, as well as new bonus features.

The game will have a text-skip option, which was implemented in the most recent installment of the series, Spirit of Justice, as well as the option to switch between the Japanese and English versions of the game. The language toggling options apply to both the game's dialogue and its voice acting.

Apollo Justice is the last of the six current games in the mainline Ace Attorney series that have come to the 3DS platform, so with it's planned inclusion in the system's offering, the family reunion is complete.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney will be released on the Nintendo 3DS in November at a discounted price of $20.

In Turnabout Trump Part 1 of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, we discovered that there might be a fourth person involved at the scene of the crime. In Part 2 we finally uncover the identity of this mysterious fourth person and solve the case.

Today we're going over Part 2 of the Turnabout Trump case. Check out our guide to Part 1 here if you missed it.

Episode 1 - Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide

We finally solve the case of Mr. Smith's murder in Turnabout Trump Part 2. In order to prove our defendant's innocence, however, we must not make any mistakes, lest we lose our edge in the courtroom.

This guide walks you through every PressPresent, and prompt in the Cross-Examination for Turnabout Trump Part 2 in Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. To avoid spoiling the juicy story as it unfolds, we only present what you need to know to successfully defend your client.

Cross-Examination: The Best Laid Traps

As the court reconvenes from recess, they ask the witness, Olga Orly, to return to the stand and testify. She reveals her true identity and reworks her testimony.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination The Best Laid Traps

The next moment, Wright picked up a bottle and swung it!

If you recall, the statement prior to this admits that her trap failed. Why would Phoenix Wright attack her if he had no motive? Press her about the defendant swinging the bottle.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination The Best Laid Traps

She doesn't respond to your initial question. When given the choice, Press Harder.

Apollo notices something odd: she touches her neck during certain parts of her testimony. Perceive this to call her out to the court.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination The Best Laid Traps

The courtroom asks for proof of Olga's habit. Present the Deadly Bottle to the court to observe the witness's reaction.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination The Best Laid Traps

He's the one who did it! I didn't let him out of my sight until the cops got there!

Olga gets a little shakey after you question her and she delivers a similarly fishy testimony. Didn't the defendant, Mr. Wright, call the cops?

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination The Best Laid Traps

Used by the defendant to notify the police from the restaurant's first floor.

This piece of evidence directly contradicts her statement. Present Wright's Cell Phone to the court.

Wright interrupts court again after Kristoph's uncharacteristically hasty conclusion and reminds us that a fourth person that may have been at the crime scene. We're asked to speculate on the identity of the fourth person.

Well, Kristoph Gavin said he was there that night before the trial even began in Part 1. Additionally, he did poetically describe the cards as blue before we ever confirmed that they were, in fact, red. Present Kristoph Gavin's profile to the court.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination The Best Laid Traps

The court explodes at the accusation and doesn't even want to give the defendant, Phoenix Wright, the chance to testify on it. However, it's your choice. When given the prompt, Hear the Testimony.

Cross-Examination: Appetite Before Murder

Phoenix testifies a series of events that closely match Olga's final testimony.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination Appetite Before Murder

When the 'trap' failed, Smith hit the waitress.

Well if the trap failed, he must have discovered the trap somehow, right? Press him about it to find out more. He amends his statement.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination Appetite Before Murder

I discovered the 'trap' during the game, and disposed of the card in the bottle.

He says he disposed of the card in the bottle but did he really? We have it here as evidence, we can find out.

Pull up the Deadly Bottle and Check it. Turn it over using the scroll wheels and Examine the bottom of the bottle.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination Appetite Before Murder

It looks to be empty. Present the Deadly Bottle as a contradiction to the court. The missing card is a solid catch, but there's more to glean from the defendant's testimony.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination Appetite Before Murder

When I returned, he was dead, blood streaming from a cut on his forehead.

That's funny. Wasn't there a hat covering the cut on the victim's head when the police arrived?

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination Appetite Before Murder

This is the photo the police took immediately upon arriving at the scene. The hat definitely was on his head. So how could Wright have seen the cut? Present Crime Photo 1 as a contradiction to the court.

Cross-Examination: That Fateful Night

The court takes a brief recess. When it reconvenes, the judge calls Kristoph to the stand as a second witness.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

A bald head, an unconscious girl... and Wright, holding a bottle in his hand.

If he was only a witness, then another person must have been there to swap the cards. Press him about this to see if you can't squeeze any more information out of him.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

After bringing up the swapped cards again, the court demands to hear a reason the killed would have to swap the card. When prompted, Show Evidence.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

The fifth ace had a splatter of blood on it that would have given away the whole scene. Present the Bloody Ace as the reason for the card swap.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

In light of the new evidence, the entire scene is riddled with problems and inconsistencies. First off, if the Ace was on the table, the Victim would have to be in a different position to drip blood on it. Present the Victim (the V) as a contradiction to the new evidence.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

After making note of the victim's odd position, the court asks you to correct the position. Simply turn the chair around as pictured above and the scene will progress automatically.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

With the victim turned around, we're presented with a new contradiction. The Killer couldn't possibly murder Mr. Smith from that position. Present the Killer (the K) as a contradiction to the court.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

The court agrees that the killer is in a weird spot in the diagram but they can't figure out where else the killer would be. Present the spot in front of the victim as pictured above.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

The court agrees that the killer cannot fit in the space where the cupboard is. Move the cupboard to the left so that the killer can fit.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

Now that the cupboard is moved, another contradiction surfaces. The window inside the Hydeout is now completely covered, so Kristoph Gavin wouldn't have been able to see through it. Present Kristoph Gavin (the 2) to the court.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

In an act of desperation, Kristoph reminds the court about Phoenix's upside-down fingerprints on the murder weapon. If you look at Olga's Photo, you'll notice that the defendant is sitting next to a box of grape juice bottles. Were he to reach down and pick one up, his fingerprints would naturally appear upside-down. Present Olga's Photo to the court as a reason for Mr. Wright's upside-down prints.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

Another bottle arrives from the crime scene, this one from the crates near the piano. Turn the bottle over with the scroll wheels and Examine the bottom of it. You'll find the card that Wright disposed of before the poker game. Suddenly everything comes into perspective.

And with that, the case is solved. The defendant, Phoenix Wright, is found Not Guilty and is cleared of all charges. But there is still one final interaction before Episode 1 draws to a close.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 2 Case Guide Cross-Examination That Fateful Night

After the trial concludes, Wright admits he forged a piece of evidence and asks if you can figure out which one. Present the Bloody Ace his daughter gave you during the last recess. He admits that the killer took the fifth ace to destroy the evidence and so it was nowhere to be found. However, I think we can forgive his small slight, just this once.

The mobile port for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney is finally out for Android and iOS devices -- however, there's one small difference. Thank's to iOS's pay-as-you-go pricing plan, Episode 1 was split up into two parts. For Android users, this means little more than a speedbump in the overall experience, since you pay full price up front.

Today we're taking a look at Part 1 of the Turnabout Trump case. You can find our guide to Part 2 by following this link.

Episode 1 - Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide Android iOS

You play as Apollo Justice, a new defense attorney who just got assigned to their first trial -- a homicide, no less. It's your job to Press the defendant and witnesses on the stand for more information and Present contradictions to the court in a process called Cross-Examination. If you want to maintain your edge in the courtroom and defend your client, you can't afford to mess up.

In this guide, we'll walk you through everything you need to know about the Cross-Examination for Turnabout Trump Part 1 in Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. We don't want to spoil you on the juicy story as it unfolds before you, so we'll only present what you need to know to successfully defend your client.

Cross-Examination: The Competition

The defendant, Phoenix, gives his testimony on the Competition. Something's a little fishy about it, but so far everything checks out with the evidence at hand. We must Press him for more information.

My real job is to take on interested customers over at the poker table.

His job is to play poker? What sort of poker player gets paid a salary to play against customers? Press him on this line of his testimony to learn more about his real job.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android the Competition cross-examination

The room where we play and the competition in there are the club's main attractions.

Ok, I can see the competition being a main attraction, but the room? What's so special about the room itself? Press him for more information.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android the Competition cross-examination

The rules are simple: we play a game of poker using two decks of cards.

Two decks of cards? Why two decks? For a statement as innocent as the rules of the game, it sure does smell fishy. Press him here to learn more. Pressing all three of these statements triggers a discussion in the courtroom that leads to the defendant, Phoenix, amending his statement.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android the Competition cross-examination

I plead silence regarding the murder. But I will say I never touched the murder weapon.

He claims he never touched the murder weapon, yet that sounds like a direct contradiction to a certain piece of evidence we got a little earlier in the trial.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android the Competition cross-examination

Grape juice bottle used as the murder weapon. Bears the defendant Mr. Wright's prints.

Working on the assumption that the Deadly Bottle is the murder weapon, Phoenix's fingerprints on the bottle contradicts his testimony. Present the Deadly Bottle as a contradiction to the court.

Cross-Examination: That Fateful Night

After a bit of discussion amongst the court, the prosecution pulls up their first witness, Olga, for her testimony.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android That Fateful Night Cross-Examination

That man flew at victim, and is strangling him to death!

Strangled, you say? The Deadly Bottle was the murder weapon, though, right? This doesn't make any sense.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android That Fateful Night Cross-Examination

The time of death was around 2 AM, April 17. Death caused by single blow to forehead.

The witness, Olga, claims the victim was strangled to death, yet the Autopsy clearly reports that he died from a single blow to the forehead. This is a glaring contradiction. Present Smith's Autopsy Report to the court on that statement in her testimony.

That's not all that's fishy about her testimony, though.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android That Fateful Night Cross-Examination

The victim, he plays whole time with his hand on locket at his neck.

A locket at his neck? What's the point of mentioning this? Does the victim even have a locket on?

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android That Fateful Night Cross-Examination

Judging from Crime Photo 2, the victim does not, in fact, have a locket on. Why would she say he had a locket? Present Crime Photo 2 as a contradiction to the court on the corresponding statement in her testimony.

Cross-Examination: Serious Competition

After a short discussion, the court asks the witness, Olga, to provide them with a testimony on the poker game.

House chips come in two size: small and large.

That's great, so there are two kinds of house chips. But what do the house chips represent? Press her about it.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android That Fateful Night Cross-Examination

When pressed about the chips, Olga becomes flustered. After a short dialogue, you'll be prompted to either Press Harder or stop. Press Harder when given the chance to learn more about the chips.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android That Fateful Night Cross-Examination

She lays out some interesting information that helps us understand the game of poker better. When the judge asks you whether or not you'd like to Add to Testimony, do so.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android That Fateful Night Cross-Examination

One kind of chip is worth 100 points, other kind is worth 1,000. Two kinds in all.

Alright, that makes sense. Logically, the big chip would be worth more, right? If that's the case, then why does the Chip Photo look so weird?

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android That Fateful Night Cross-Examination

Take a long look at this piece of evidence. Count the chips up; you'll find there are 10 big chips and 6 small chips. If there are 7,000 total points, then what gives? Present the Chip Photo as a contradiction to the court on the statement talking about points.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android That Fateful Night Cross-Examination

The Chip Photo causes confusion in the courtroom as everyone tries to figure out the real value of the chips. However, when you really think about it, it seems like the entire thing was a giant misunderstanding caused by poor communication. Share the conclusion that Both were right with the court.

Cross-Examination: The Final Hand

After another brief discussion and a not-so-shocking reveal from the witness, Olga, the court asks her to testify on the Final Hand.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android The Final Hand Cross-Examination

If you look at both men's hands, cheat is more obvious!

This is too vague. How is the cheat obvious? What happened? I can't tell that there was a cheat looking at the Chip PhotoPress the witness for more information.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android The Final Hand Cross-Examination

Mr. Smith's hand has three aces, and Mr. Wright's two. ...It is five aces in all.

After a short back-and-forth, she amends her testimony on the cheat. However, this doesn't look quite right. Did Mr. Smith really have three aces?

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android The Final Hand Cross-Examination

Take another look at the Chip Photo. There are obviously only four aces on the table, not five. Mr. Smith only has two aces. Present the Chip Photo as a contradiction to the court.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android The Final Hand Cross-Examination

The judge doesn't see the contradiction right away, so you have to point it out to him. Point to the third king -- the one that replaced the third ace from Olga's story -- and Present it to the court.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android The Final Hand Cross-Examination

The court goes back and forth on the matter of the victim's hand. Eventually, the cards are brought in as evidence and you are asked which hand you'd like to examine. Obviously, you'll want the more suspicious one, so select View Victim's Hand.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android The Final Hand Cross-Examination

Once you receive the Victim's Hand, you'll be asked to examine the evidence and look for something off. Turn the cards over and Present the out-of-place Blue Card to the court.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android The Final Hand Cross-Examination

After a brief discussion, the court concluded that the card was swapped. But when could it have been swapped? Well, someone would have been caught if they swapped the card before or during the murder, so it's like it happened After the Murder.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Episode 1 Turnabout Trump Part 1 Case Guide iOS Android The Final Hand Cross-Examination

Who would have the motivation to swap the card after the murder, though? Neither Phoenix Wright nor Olga Orly is dumb enough to swap the fifth ace with a blue card, so it must be Someone Else.

After another debate and a shocking interruption from the defendant, Mr. Wright, the Judge adjourns court for recess.

This is where Episode 1, Turnabout Trump Part 1, cuts off. Check out the case guide for Part 2 here. We're covering the entire Android and iOS port of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, so stick with us!
