It was my birthday recently. Yay me! Anyways, on my birthday, I got a new series of games: HyperDimension Neptunia Rebirth 1, 2, and 3.

HyperDimension Neptunia Rebirth 2 had a lot of DLC, which made me excited, because I loved the first one. The DLC was awesome, but it was honestly a little too awesome.

The first DLC I got was a special weapon, some armor, and accessories with a few crafting plans. I've always liked using DLC weapons, because they usually offer some cool starting benfits. However, this DLC weapon had the same stats as the end game weapons from the first game.

That's right. Right off the bat, the DLC weapon and armor pretty much gave me the stats of a level 70 character. I was killing everything in one shot. And that's kind of boring.

It may seem silly for me to be complaining, especially because I've written articles about the fact that I want ultimate weapons to be more than just a trophy. It's not that I don't want to kill everything in one hit, it's that I don't want that ability to be handed to me. It's so much more satisfying if I had to grind up my level or finish a whole game to get to that point. And of course, I did have to a choice in whether I'd use the weapons or not. But after paying for them, of course I'm going to use them for at least a little while.

Why would a DLC give you end game stats? I don't get it. DLC is meant to add to a game - not break it to the point where you could beat the whole thing in your sleep. I just felt the need to rant about it. It was my birthday, after all. How rude.

Hopefully the next DLC won't allow me to run through half a game in five minutes. Where's the fun in that?

New Games Coming to PlayStation and PSN 1/27/2015 https://www.gameskinny.com/re2n8/new-games-coming-to-playstation-and-psn-1272015 https://www.gameskinny.com/re2n8/new-games-coming-to-playstation-and-psn-1272015 Sun, 25 Jan 2015 11:14:12 -0500 Ciara Guibault

Sony will be releasing several new games available for purchase on PSN this coming week, for the PS4, and PS3, and the PS Vita. All of the games are digital, with the exception of Dying Light and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation, which can both be bought at certain retailers.

Dying Light

Dying Light will be exclusive to the PS4, and will allow players to roam a city invaded by a mysterious epidemic. In this first-person, action-survival game, players will need to scavenge supplies and craft weapons in order to survive the nightmare ahead of them, where the dead grow stronger in the night.

Grim Fandago Remastered

Grim Fandago Remastered is a PS4 and PS Vita cross-buy game, where players are introduced to Manny Calavera, who is a travel agent working at the Department of Death. While selling luxury packages to souls on their four-year journey to eternal rest, he gets himself caught in a conspiracy that threatens his salvation.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation

In this PS Vita exclusive game, players fight in free-roaming battles as characters known as CPU Candidates, who watch over the nations. Players will have to use over-the-top attacks, transformations, and more in order to help the Candidates save their sisters and the world of Gamindustri.

Life is Strange (Episode 1)

Life is Strange will be availble for PS4 and PS3, although it won't be launching until Friday. Players take control of a character named Max, who saves her old friend Chloe by discovering that she can rewind time. By allowing the player to rewind time and affect the past, present, and the future, Life is Strange becomes based on choice and consequence.

Nihilumbra

Nihilumbra is also a PS Vita exclusive, where players take control of Born, who was created from the absolute nothingness. Born somehow separates himself from the black emptiness and appears into the world, and it's up to the player to help him escape from his inevitable curse.

Teslagrad

Teslagrad will be available for the PS4 and PS3 with cross-buy available. Teslagrad is a 2D puzzle-platformer set in a steampunk-inspired vision of old Europe. While exploring more than 100 hand-drawn environments, players will use magnetism and other electromagnetic powers to reveal the secrets of a long-abandoned Tesla Tower.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation Opening Movie and Screenshots Released https://www.gameskinny.com/eo49w/hyperdimension-neptunia-rebirth-2-sisters-generation-opening-movie-and-screenshots-released https://www.gameskinny.com/eo49w/hyperdimension-neptunia-rebirth-2-sisters-generation-opening-movie-and-screenshots-released Tue, 11 Nov 2014 21:39:20 -0500 zoLo567

JRPG remake Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation is a few months away from release in North America. Until then, developer Idea Factory has released the game's opening cinematic to help entice fans while they wait, along with some screenshots.

The opening cinematic gives players a glimpse at the overall art style for the game, set to some catchy J-pop. The screenshots, seen below, give a better idea for actual gameplay and in-game graphics. The remake retains the original PlayStation 3 version's fidelity, and will boast an improved frame rate, reworked voice acting, and a larger cast of characters.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation is the second title in the Re;Birth series, and is a remake of Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 for the PS3. Sisters Generation will feature a new story, new characters, and a revamped battle system. While there are new characters, some characters from the original game will not return.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation is not the only Neptunia title on the way. A strategy RPG spinoff to the series titled Hyperdevotion Noire Goddess Black will make its way onto American PS Vitas early next year. The next numbered title in the series, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II, is in development in Japan for the PS4. There is no word as of yet on when the game will make it Stateside. You can see more information on Victory II here.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation releases in North America on January 27th, 2014.
