A new update for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes has been released everywhere for download this week.

This update heavily emphasizes the new Den of Trials DLC dungeon and important multiplayer features that will affect future updates. Nintendo recommends that for to these reasons, all users should download and install the update onto their devices.

This update was announced back in November by Nintendo Direct (4:05 benchmark), but as of this week has finally dropped for players in both North America (Dec 2) and Europe (Dec 3) to enjoy.

What you should expect in Ver. 2.0.0:

The Den of Trials DLC added

Unlike previous dungeons with a small handful of stages, the Den of Trials is a dungeon DLC that features over 30 stages players must fight through. Each goes progressively deeper underground, providing more of a challenge with each level you go.

A difficult requirement is that every enemy must be killed before progressing to the next stage. Checkpoints will be available, but it's unclear when these checkpoints will appear. So players are directed to use them wisely.

Two new outfits added

These outfits will only be available after clearing certain requirements in the game. Both provide strategic benefits.

  • Linebeck's Uniform (Spirit Tracks
This costume let' the wearer see inside treasure chests before they open them, ensuring best pick.

  • Fierce Deity Armor (Majora's Mask)
This costume increases the wearer's attack power. It also shoots beams in 4 directions.
Multiplayer Matchmaking Improvements

Style match-ups

  • Players will be organized based on their styles of gameplay and will be matched up more frequently with those who have similar playstyles through the online matchmaking system.
  • To ensure a better matchmaking experience, players must complete a series of questions before starting a match, and answers influence future online team-ups.

  • A major issue with online multiplayer in games are the trolls and otherwise that leave mid-game. Now, should a teammate exit through the pause menu during play, a blacklisting option will be added. To blacklist a player, simply tap their Hero Panel and then press either the A or B button before saving the game.
Other updates
  • Stamps for Miiverse added.
  • Friendly Tokens will now be available from the street vendor after lifting the cures off of Princess Styla.
  • Other small adjustments have been added for a more pleasant gaming experience.

A note before you update

There are a few things to keep in mind before you make the switch to 2.0.0. Nintendo stated:

Update data will be saved on the SD Card that is inserted into the system.

If there is not enough space on the SD Card, the update will not be completed. In order to check available space, select "System Settings" from the Home Menu and then select "Data Management."

After downloading the update, please do not delete the update data. Update data can be viewed in the "Downloadable Content" area of the Data Management menu.

Despite such major game changes that come with this update, Nintendo also assures that previous save data will be safe and still available to use. No information should be lost during the update.

To install the update, make sure you're already at the latest version, and then download the new one from the Nintendo eShop. Make sure it is labeled as The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Update Ver. 2.0.0. Then follow on-screen instructions, or follow the Nintendo guide to download from the HOME menu.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Ver. 2.0.0 is available to users completely free in the eShop.

Did you hear the news you were hoping for? Did anything blow your mind, foregoing your imagination. Let us know in the comments; and remember today several pieces of Nintendo history were made.

Super Smash Bros

For some this is the biggest piece of NEWS this year. Fans of Final Fantasy and Smash Bros will be pleased that one of the most requested characters has been announced. Cloud Strife is here with his buster sword and a new stage in tow. There are no dates on when he will be available, but we were told to expect news in early December. Have fun playing matches to the classic Final Fantasy theme song that will also be included.

The Wii U has not been totally abandoned by third party developers. There are still quite a few games coming to the console.

Hive Jump- Q1 2016

Kerbal Space Program- Q1 2016

Mighty No. 9- 2/9/2016

Lego Marvels Avengers- 1/26/2016

Terarria 4/12/2016

Dragon Quest: VII & VIII

Both games were announced and are set to release next year.

Hyrule Warriors: Legends

Another bevy of good news; Hyrule Warriors: Legends gives us much to look forward too. A new original character was announced; a girl named Linkle that uses double crossbows. She is the first female version of Link. The release date was announced as March 25, 2016. You will also get a new home menu theme for your 3DS when you purchase the game.

Pokemon: Blue, Red, and Yellow

We were all blindsided by this one. All three of the first generation Pokemon games are coming to the eshop. The games will be true to their original versions sans one feature; players no longer need a link cable to trade Pokemon. You can now use wifi to trade and battle with your friends. These release the same day as the originals did twenty years ago -- February 27, 2016.

MegaMan: Legacy Collection

A collection of the first six MegaMan games; this title offers a lot of content for fans to collect in game. The game will have exclusive challenges that can only be accessed using a MegaMan amiibo. On that note there was also a new gold colored Megaman amiibo announced. It can only be obtained by purchasing a copy of the game's collector's edition. The game is available February 23, 2016.

Final Fantasy: Fates

Fans already knew the game would be releasing in two parts simultaneously. But today all the options for obtaining all three games was revealed. After completing one of the two launch games players will be given the choice to purchase the other game as half price. There is also a bundle available, as well a collectors edition that comes with an art-book and carrying pouch for your DS. This is available for $79.99. Other DLC maps are also planned for the games.

Final Fantasy Explorers

This game was initially released in Japan last December and has received a few updates since. The North American version of the game will gave players access to all of the game's released DLC free of charge. There is also a collectors edition releasing. It will include the game, an art-book, a CD sampler. and exclusive quests. Pick this up on January 26, 2016

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam

A release date of January 22, 2016 was announced. If you love Mario RPG's then you need this title. New battle cards with effects to help you get past tricky levels and challenges were revealed. You can use your amiibo to create character cards which are more powerful than battle cards. Mario party amiibos will be compatible with this tittle.

Pokken Tournament

The fighting game everyone is waiting for received some new footage. It was also revealed how players would be able to access the Shadow Mewtwo character that leaked a while back. If your copy is from the first production run; players will receive a special card that allows them to use the character immediately. If not, players can complete a few things in game and use him later. The game releases Spring 2016 for Wii U.

StarFox Zero

Starfox Zero was finally given a new release date. After being pushed back from this holiday season, the game is now slated to release April 22, 2016. Mark your calendars now, people.

Of course these popular little trinkets were center stage. Almost every game had a mention of them. We also received a release date for some of the Animal crossing and the Lucas figures -- January 22nd

There are also four great new games coming to the Nintendo eShop. Nintendo is obviously eyeing its casual gamer market.

  • Typo Man-November 19th
  • \n
  • Fast Racing Neo-December
  • \n
  • Steam World Heist-December
  • \n
  • Pokemon Picross-December
  • \n

Nintendo Badge Arcade

A free to start title, this game gives you badges to customize your 3DS home screen. Collect the badges using a claw game. Players can pay to receive more chances to collect the badges. Some badges will be limited edition, so make sure you check back often if this is something you are interested in.

Xenoblade Chronicles X

For those waiting on a new Metroid or Legend of Zelda game this is the best Nintendo is offering; an open world space adventure that will release on December 4th. If buying the game physically, there are four packs that can be pre-installed to allow the player to load up the game faster. It is recommended to download the first pack at the least.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash

An all-new move was revealed for this game. Performing a jump smash will allow players to jump up and attack the ball before it has had a chance to bounce on their side. This will add a new layer of strategy to matches. Knock your opponent off balance then use the jump smash from the designated point to perform an ultra smash.

There are also mega battles where Toad will add mega Mushrooms to the match to make characters larger; how exciting? Add in amiibos to use as a partner in online and expedition matches.

Animal Crossing amiibo Festival

This game will initially launch packaged with two amiibos and will be the only way to acquire the Isabelle and Digby amiibos. Digby will be even more exclusive as he is only available with the launch copy of the game. Some of the games puzzles and game modes were also showcased.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon

This game will release on November 20th and feature every single known Pokemon.  The new connection orb will allow you to send and receive rescue requests. The game will also come with a free theme for your 3DS.

Nintendo has done well keeping this seasons sleeper hit stocked with new content. This was the largest update to a previously released game announced.

Super Mario Maker

A new portal site was announced that will allow you to search for particular levels on your PC or mobile device. Search for the type of level you wish to play or bookmark one you find while browsing.

The Legend of Zelda Tri-Force Heroes.

A free update is being developed that will add the Den of Trials areas. Unlike normal dungeons where there might be 4 challenges, these levels will have an overwhelming amount at 30 plus! Did we mention that you and your team must defeat every single enemy in a stage to move on to the next one. But don't be discouraged; the den has checkpoints littered throughout to help you make it a little further.

New outfits are also planned: Linebeck's Uniform, which will let you see inside of chest before opening them, and The Fierce Deity Armor, which will make your sword fire off beams in four different directions.

These are both free updates that will release on December 2nd.

Zelda Wii U

New gameplay footage for this tittle was shown after the reveal of Twilight Princes HD. The new WolfLink amiibo will have an effect when used with this game.

The release window was not updated and the game is still slated for a Wii U release sometime in 2016.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

After a weeks of speculation and rumor, Twilight  Princess HD received an official announcement. The first announcement of the event included enhanced visuals, a new wolf Link amiibo, and other enhanced features. This will be a fun experience even for those who have played this classic a few times. The game will also be compatible with other amiibos from the smash series. Twilight Princess HD releases March 4th 2016. Preorder now to receive the official soundtrack for free.

Did you miss the Nintendo Direct event? Here's a recap of all that was announced earlier this week. Everything Nintendo has planned through early 2016 now has a release date. If you're a Nintendo fan, there is much to celebrate.

Checkpoints and more added to Super Mario Maker https://www.gameskinny.com/x057e/checkpoints-and-more-added-to-super-mario-maker https://www.gameskinny.com/x057e/checkpoints-and-more-added-to-super-mario-maker Sat, 07 Nov 2015 11:35:01 -0500 Joe DeClara

In the latest Super Mario Maker update, Nintendo supplied players with the oft requested checkpoint system.

Originally, user-created levels required players to complete the level from start to finish without dying. With version 1.20, however, level creators will be able to implement checkpoint flags. These will allow players who reach checkpoints to restart mid-level if they were to fall victim to a gumba, plummet to their death, etc.

The lack of a checkpoint system in Super Mario Maker has been a common grievance among consumers and critics alike. While sporting mostly high reviews (some outlets ranking the platformer a perfect 10/10), some criticized the game for this omission.

The fact that you can’t place a checkpoint is baffling. You’re forced to finish a level on one life. Sadly, not even the original Super Mario Bros., which the company released in 1985, was that cruel.

- Review by Jose Otero

Also effective upon updating, level creators will now be able to combine a mushroom and a fireflower within the same question block. This will result in small Mario receiving the mushroom, while big Mario will be presented with the fireflower. While the lack of this classic system did not concern critics as much as the missing checkpoints, it should certainly please those players craving more authenticity in their favorite platformer creator tool.

In spite of the lack of checkpoints, mushroom-flowers, and other features included in the update, the Wii U exclusive has sold and performed well since its release. With nearly 2 million copies sold, Nintendo has reported that over 2.2 million levels were created, and have been played over 75 million times. Following this established popularity among Wii U owners, Nintendo released a Super Mario Maker themed stage in Super Smash Bros (Wii U and 3DS), which procedurally generates itself into a differently configured stage each time it is used.

Other features coming to the Super Mario Maker update are a more customizable Course World, and a playable Totem Link sprite from The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes on 3DS. For more on Nintendo's creation tool, like the top 20 levels you should be playing, keep an eye on GameSkinny!

Memes in NA's Tri Force Heroes has fans divided https://www.gameskinny.com/s34sc/memes-in-nas-tri-force-heroes-has-fans-divided https://www.gameskinny.com/s34sc/memes-in-nas-tri-force-heroes-has-fans-divided Wed, 28 Oct 2015 04:28:56 -0400 Andrea Koenig

Very Zelda. Such Meme. So North America. Images are circling the internet shortly after the Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes release for 3DS. They feature some very meme-tastic translations by Nintendo of America.

Oh, boy.

For those who didn't know, Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe tend to work separately on their translations. The result? Europe allegedly gets something thoughtful while North America gets some "dank memes".

Specifically, what we have here is the furry and adorable, yet undying Doge meme.

Very example. So Doge. Much sorry.

It can be funny, but is it okay? Many can agree that adding jokes and references is fine as long as it doesn't deter from the original text's intent. We don't want memes to distract us from the storytelling.

If that's the case, then let's see how the NA translation measures up to the original intent:

As citizens of countries that don't have Japanese as a dominant language, we should expect some rough translating. Especially since, linguistically, word order is different in Japanese grammar than in languages like English, Spanish, or French.

So what is the original Japanese text?

According to a rough translation from Legends of Localization, it says something along the lines of:

However, that’s precisely why I found the ancient legacy that was likely left behind.

This means the European version is technically the closest to the original text. At the very least, Nintendo of Europe's translator(s) kept that dialogue close to the original purpose: talking about an opportunity in a lost ruin. No memes.

And while translations for regions tend to keep things local to the culture to ensure some things like humor translate well to other audiences (see LOZ: Link Between Worlds with its Hyrule and Lorule, or name translations in the Ace Attorney games), this meme seems to be an ad-lib by translators.

I can haz memes?

It's an ad-lib that is definitely getting mixed responses. On one side, fans aren't very impressed.

These fans among others, find it childish, unnecessary, and stupid. The initial response is that it's ridiculous to have a meme in a video game that messes with the translation.

Meanwhile, other fans were on the fence...

And then there were the fans who seemed fine with it, defending its use...

Or simply responding with the meme itself in kind.

Many of the supporting fans, like @SystemsReady, above, find it's not the first time that Nintendo has added memes or references to their games, and it won't be the last time. Even in Japanese versions, there are M.C. Hammer and Vanilla Ice references that NoA removed.

So, do you think it's funny? Childish? Stupid? Or is it all just an issue getting blown out of proportion because it's a more modern-age meme made after the days that memes earned their name? Let us know in the comments.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is out now for 3DS.

Aonuma promises Zelda Wii U team is trying to finish the game "as fast as possible" https://www.gameskinny.com/ljdeu/aonuma-promises-zelda-wii-u-team-is-trying-to-finish-the-game-as-fast-as-possible https://www.gameskinny.com/ljdeu/aonuma-promises-zelda-wii-u-team-is-trying-to-finish-the-game-as-fast-as-possible Thu, 22 Oct 2015 18:16:28 -0400 Zanne Nilsson

Many fans of The Legend of Zelda series have been waiting patiently (well, maybe some of us not-so-patiently) for more info about the upcoming Zelda title for the Wii U, and perhaps we won't have to wait too much longer.

As part of a feature article on the new The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes, the magazine Famitsu interviewed series producer Eiji Aonuma about the new game and the series as a whole. When asked about any plans for the 30th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series next year, Aonuma instead focused on the upcoming Wii U title:

This year we wanted a Majora’s Mask concert, so it is not impossible that there may be a 30th anniversary concert next year. However, as we are trying to complete the new Zelda as fast as possible, that is all that is on our minds. That being said, we hope something will take form for the 30th anniversary. It is especially important to a producer of the series, so I hope to give something everyone can look forward to next year.

Aonuma did not say much else about the highly-anticipated game, but he did ask fans to wait just a little bit longer while they finish, saying:

“We’re doing our best. Everyday we improve it bit by bit. It is something that requires plenty of time, however, so please believe in us and wait.”

It's good to know that the new game is their highest priority at the moment. Hopefully the wait won't be too long, but I for one would rather wait longer for a good game than get a mediocre game quickly.

Do you have any hopes for what might "take form" for the anniversary celebration next year? How about the new game? Let us know in the comments!

The Legend of Zelda: TriForce Heroes, the latest Legend of Zelda 3DS game set to launch October 23rd, is now allowing its players to stop potential trolls with the help of an in-game blacklist.

TriForce Heroes is a 3-player cooperative game, along the same lines as Four Swords. You and some friends, family members, or other people online will team up to tackle challenging dungeons, puzzles, and bosses in the traditional Legend of Zelda fashion. The game is also completely playable alone, with AI controlling the other two heroes.

When playing online, you may register players you play with in your blacklist. By doing so, you will never encounter that player again. To do this while in the level, touch and hold the hero panel of the player you want to blacklist, press A or B, and select "Yes" to temporarily register them. Once you exit the level, you will be able to register them permanently.

You can register up to one hundred players on your blacklist. When you go over a hundred, the oldest entries will be overwritten.
You cannot register a friend on your blacklist.

On the fence about Triforce Heroes? Nintendo's giving out demo codes https://www.gameskinny.com/6r00e/on-the-fence-about-triforce-heroes-nintendos-giving-out-demo-codes https://www.gameskinny.com/6r00e/on-the-fence-about-triforce-heroes-nintendos-giving-out-demo-codes Thu, 15 Oct 2015 03:38:11 -0400 Gabriella Graham

Nintendo releases the The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes multiplayer experience on October 23rd. In order to convince gamers that the title is worth the playthrough and price, Nintendo's handing out free opportunities to test the waters of friend-venturing. 3DS owners can receive an e-mail with not one, not two, but three demo codes to play with friends.

What am I looking for here?

Unfortunately, not everyone gets to play. The demo is being released exclusively in North America. To check if you've received a golden ticket, sign into the e-mail associated with your Nintendo Network account. Not every gamer will receive one, but every e-mail includes:

  1. an obligatory message of congratulations
  2. a classic "It's dangerous to go alone!" reference, and
  3. three nifty demo codes.

Prepare to face the wrath of super good friends.

Once you have your code, you can download the demo by entering it in the Nintendo eShop. While the game's full release includes a single-player mode, your demo will not. Here's where those bonus codes come in. Share your extra codes and play with two friends via the local multiplayer option. One dungeon will await you. No more, no less (admittedly, less than one experience would be an awful promotional technique).

If local play doesn't suit your fancy, there will be three timeslots during which online co-op becomes available:

  • October 16th and 17th, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET
  • October 18th, 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT / 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET

Alright, easy enough. Why bother, though?

The demo is a wise move on the part of Nintendo; designers developed unique levels that capatalize on cooperative strategies in Triforce Heroes. Allowing gamers to interactively move through a level trumps the effectiveness of watching journalists play with added commentary.

Reminiscent of Four Swords, a heroic team takes the place of a stand-alone Link. For Triforce Heroes, dungeons will encourage using all the advantages a well-functioning team provides. Players will find themselves throwing each other across chasms when they aren't climbing onto each other's backs for a height advantage. The game introduces new emotes for in-game communication that are one part whimsical and one part useful. This only names a few of the game features that players can officially try first-hand.

Didn't get an e-mail? Hope is not lost, young paladins!

Believe it or not, some lucky recipients don't even want their codes. Inconceivable, I know. A handful of sites provide a quick and convenient place for such people to offer their demo opportunity to others.

Check out Google for leads, Twitter for contests and code giveaways, and forums on sites like Gamespot if you're looking to play but lack the download. You can also request and share codes in the comments below! Some generous passerby just may have what you're looking for.

Legend of Zelda Tri Force Heroes story-line released in new trailer https://www.gameskinny.com/8570f/legend-of-zelda-tri-force-heroes-story-line-released-in-new-trailer https://www.gameskinny.com/8570f/legend-of-zelda-tri-force-heroes-story-line-released-in-new-trailer Mon, 28 Sep 2015 20:42:43 -0400 Courtney Gamache

A new trailer for Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes released giving insight to the games story-line and how gameplay will officially work. Though the game won't be included on the Zelda timeline, there is some light story that gives gamers a want to help Zelda as much as possible.

The Story-line of Tri Force Heroes

Tri Force Heroes doesn't embody a very heavy story-line, but it seems based on the trailer that Princess Zelda has been put under a curse after opening a present, and the King of Hytopia is put into a huge emotional distress. With the emotional anguish overtaking the King, he puts in an advertisement on an infamous Zelda sign, where Link accepts the challenge and steps forward to save the Princess.

Becoming the Hero of Hytopia, Link along with two friends go on an adventure to overcome bosses and enemies alike to save Princess Zelda. To carry out the goal of saving Zelda from the curse, the three Links must work together to bypass puzzles that get in their way throughout the numerous levels.

How the game play will work

To play Tri Force Heroes you don't necessarily need three different people playing together. Sure that could be a fun route to take, but you can play it solo by switching between the three doppelgängers. The hardware of Tri Force Heroes will work with either three separate games on different 3DSs, or by using Download Play with one copy when playing locally. There is a distinct benefit of having a copy of the game, so online play can be done with friends and newcomers, but it isn't a necessity if Zelda isn't your passion but you want to experience the magic.

There are also specific items available throughout the different levels of Tri Force Heroes along with costumes that Link can wear through the unlocking process. The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes becomes a slightly customizable puzzle game where the sole purpose is defeating enemies to save Zelda, but with style.

For the full trailer view the below video that was uploaded by user Nintendo3DSuk.

Will your hero be Red, Green, or Blue come this October? That's the question that so many Legend of Zelda fans need to be asking themselves as Nintendo announces an official release date for their new 3DS Zelda game: The Legend of Zelda: Triforce heroes on October 23, 2015 in North America and Europe.

zelda costume

This upcoming action-adventure puzzle solver was announced to the public at E3 2015, where they showed players that their characters, on top of the red, green, or blue outfits that long-lived Zelda fans have come to know and enjoy, will also be able to strap on some other outfits that hold different purposes. The above Zelda dress can be comical for some, but the bomb suit below helps users designate weapon roles and heighten special abilities between their three heroes.

If you couldn't guess already, one of the anticipated features to this new addition to the Zelda family is playing via local and online multiplayer setups. Players must work together, taking away the competition aspect as Nintendo incorporates a special totem mechanic for you and your friends to work with. This helps to reach higher places in the game, defeat taller enemies, and find new, interesting ways to get through dungeon puzzles.

Can't wait until October to order? The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes is currently available for preorder on Amazon right now.

The newest expansion in the Zelda franchise, Tri Force Heroes, is reported to not have a slot on the Zelda timeline.

Why I'm Not Surprised

According to Julie Gagnon, spokesperson for Nintendo of Canada, the Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes will not be included within the already formatted Legend of Zelda timeline. The timeline has had the reputation over the past few years to upset many Zelda fans, and although this game has a bit of a storyline, it won't be cemented in a specific time or Zelda universe. We can probably fit the game in with the Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds due to graphic choice and the console being on the Nintendo 3DS, but otherwise we have nothing else to go on.

Some of the reasoning behind this choice could be due to how the game is not a real sequel within the Zelda series. Although the king of the kingdom sets Link upon a vigorous adventure, it is presently unsure if the game will even include Princess Zelda or Ganon.

Spokesperson Julie Gagnon stated that:

“It really depends on what the developer has in mind for the franchises. Sometimes you have Zelda sequels and what we have today with Zelda: Triforce [sic] Heroes is completely different and not in the timeline of Zelda.”- Julie Gagnon, Spokesperson for Nintendo of Canada

It's quite understandable how this game is more about teamwork and less about story development. Hopefully in the future they can include a section of the timeline meant for games such as this or even Hyrule Warriors.

During this year's E3 conference, Nintendo announced their new Legend of Zelda installment called Tri Force Heroes. This Nintendo 3DS exclusive game will feature a new multiplayer experience never before seen in a Zelda game.

How is this different from the Four Swords?

Well the Legend of Zelda: Four Swords game features a more competitive multiplayer experience, where the players compete against each other to have more rupees at the end of each level. Within this new game, Tri Force Heroes, you can play with up to three people and you all share the same health bar. The puzzles are seemingly also focused on this cooperative play, where you must work together to succeed. Being in full communication with each other will boost the user experience, while also keeping this hectic game under control.

New Features

A really cool feature about this new game involves costume outfits that you can dress Link with. A few examples include a the Kokiri Clothes, and a frilly Princess Zelda dress. There are a six in total, and each one has different attributes; the Kokiri Clothes give Link the ability to shoot up to three arrows at one time. Another feature is selecting items at the beginning of each stage. There are three possible items and the options will change depending on the stage. Some examples include in the Forest stage, and how there are three Bows available, whereas in the Volcano stage, there is a Gust Jar, Bow, and the Boomerang.

One of the new mechanics that is extremely useful with the 3D in this game is the Totem set-up that requires all three players to stack upon one another to reach an item or switch that is too high. The mechanic works very well with the 3D, so that players can see if the ledge needs an extra or all three participants, and also works with boss battles.

The game will support an online multiplayer abilities along with local. If you want to play the game and your friends aren't too into Zelda, there is single-player where the A.I Links turn into paper dolls to control.

When will the game be available?

Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes will be available Fall of 2015.

At their Digital event, Nintendo announced a new Zelda title: Triforce Heroes for the Nintendo 3DS this upcoming fall. This game seems to be a blend of

This game seems to be a blend of A Link Between Worlds and Four Swords Adventures.

From what was discussed during Nintendo's digital event, this game encourages multiplayer co-op, which is always a fun idea for a video game. However, if a person wants to go solo, it seems that the two Links will become a type of "rented doll,” that can be moved by the player in order to solve various puzzles in the dungeons. These dolls, or the two other players if you choose to play co-op, will be important due to the "totem" mechanic that seems to be very integral to the game itself.

The "totem" technique seems to consist of all three Links getting on each other's shoulders in order to get far away objects, like keys. How often this technique is going to have to be used has yet to be revealed. Still it is important as the amount where the "Totem" style is required could damage the single player experience of the story. It also seems that teamwork might be required to defeat bosses and solve puzzles.

Another interesting game concept is the idea of different costumes that give special abilities and powers to the three Links. From the trailer, it seems that each costume comes with an ability that seems to give combat skills (Spin Attack Attire), grant abilities (Big Bomb Outfit) or have random effects (Lucky Loungewear). This is an interesting gameplay choice that is unique and apparently has to do with the "fashion-forward land" that is the setting of the game.

Link's fancy new duds

It seems that all three Links share the same number of heart containers, rupees, and lives. So clearly the emphasis on teamwork is constantly present. Apparently each dungeon will contain up to three items to be used to complete it, so there seems to be a lot going for this game. One last interesting tidbit is that the three Links each represent a color that represent the triad of Goddesses of the Legend of Zelda universe, I'm curious to see if that is just a cosmetic choice or will have a connection to the story.

What do you think about this game? Does it have potential or seem to be just a so-so spinoff? Leave a comment and as always check out GameSkinny.com for all your E3 and gaming news.
