Whenever you're playing a game and you see a character inside from a different game, it really gets your juices flowing. After noticing how many celebrity cameos have been seen in games over the last 20+ years, we noticed that there are even more cameos from other video game characters. Cue the second part of our issue.

Welcome back to the second part of Crazy Video Game Cameos. Earlier, we covered movies and celebrities which appeared in a multitude of video games. In this issue, we will be taking a look at all the video game characters that have appeared in other video games!

Duke Nukem - Blood & Bulletstorm: Full Clip

The Duke, and his developers 3D Realms, have pulled no punches when they decide to make fun of other video games, so it's only fitting that the Duke cops some insults of his own. Play long enough into 90's shooter, Blood, and you'll find a secret entrance. Continue down this path and there's poor, old Duke. Hanging upside down and horribly mutilated but it's him, no doubt. Hit him enough times and your character will steal Duke's line, "Shake it baby!"

For another (current), weird cameo, the Duke is appearing as a playable character in cult classic, Bulletstorm: Full Clip. Check out the trailer below!

Mega Man- Dead Rising Series

Capcom love to throw characters from other universes in their games. Evident throughout all the Dead Rising games, every protagonist can eventually find Mega Man's outfit and become the titular hero himself. Sure, it may just be a costume that you put on but we still get to act like Mega Man, arm rockets and all. Poor guy... it seems he always finds himself in apocalyptic situations. I'm pretty sure you can find a Blanka outfit too (from the Street Fighter series).

Creepers - Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 is a great game full of inside jokes and some very crude humor. With the success and popularity of Minecraft (even so many years later), the developers must have thought, "Ah, f**k it. Let's throw a creeper in as a bad guy." Either that or they were running out of enemy creation ideas. While making your way through some of the mines in this game, you will eventually come across a few block built, familiar characters. A nice little touch. A least they didn't throw griefers in there...

Jill Valentine & Nemesis- Under the Skin

Body snatching sim, Under the Skin, is a novel little piece to play. Similar to Destroy All Humans, this game has you playing as a blue little alien sent to cause as much chaos on earth as possible. At a certain level, you'll notice that it is called Raccoon City. Well, you get to play as Jill and the Nemesis in this level, set with locales from the first two Resident Evil games. Suffice to say, this was enough to get me to play the game.

Claire, Leon & Zombie Cop- Trick N' Snowboarder

Yes, another game that sees cameos from one of the biggest franchise of video game history. Look, it was the 90's and Resident Evil was a global smash, with everyone talking about Raccoon City and the T-Virus. It only makes sense that not so great games tried to pick up on their success, by including certain characters as unlockable players. Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy reporting for snowboarding duty, dude. The developers even threw a zombie cop from Resident Evil 2 in there, just for good measure.

Doom Marine - Duke Nukem 3D

One of those moments in a Duke Nukem game where 3D Realms just couldn't help themselves. With Doom being much more successful than Duke Nukem 3D, they decided to take a jab at the shooter that started all shooters. Get far enough into Duke Nukem 3D and you'll come across a hell-like portal, complete with inverted crosses. At the base of this portal, you'll find the torso of a mauled Doom marine. Guess he didn't have the guts...

Chun Li - Breath of Fire

Timeless RPG, Breath of Fire, by Capcom threw in yet another one of their famous characters somewhere they don't belong. During one of your quests, you meet a master who talks about an amazing fighter. Someone who can kick at the speed of light. Sound familiar? If you thought of Street Fighter alumni, Chun-Li then you'd be correct. Sure, you can't play as her and it's only a 10 to 20 second cameo but it still counts!

Lara Croft & TMNT - Shadow Warrior

Doom and Duke Nukem rip-off, Shadow Warrior, is your average cult classic, FPS. Run around, kill some monsters, blow s**t up. Pretty simple, until you come across a cameo from Tomb Raider's very own, Lara Croft. The protagonist actually mentions that, "She won't be raiding anymore tombs." Nice touch but continue further on into the game and you can find another cameo from 90's sensations, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Dead, but still a cameo.

Spider-Man - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2

The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series has always had fun with including random cameos in their games but none stands out more than the web-slinging, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Neversoft could have just used a normal character dressed as the titular hero but I love them for going the extra mile. Definitely the best skater in the game, Spider-Man web slings, flips, and does whatever a spider can while racking up hundreds of thousands of points. I might jump back on after writing this article...

Donkey Kong - Wii Punch Out!

In the Wii remake to Super Nintendo's, Super Punch Out!, there's a new boss character that you have to take on and boy, is he one of the most difficult! In Wii Super Punch Out!, you don't have to take on Mike Tyson anymore. Now you have to take on a 900 pound gorilla with boxing gloves. Don't be fooled as Donkey Kong is the hardest character to fight in the game. Good luck, it was nice knowing you...

Wesker, West, Marcus & Dom - Lost Planet 2

Mega cameos are starring in Capcom's sci-fi, 3rd person action-shooter, Lost Planet 2. An average game when it was released and unfortunately lost the test of time, this entry had a few cool cameos as unlockable players. Up to four different universe characters appeared to play with, being Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago from the Gears of War series, Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil series, and Frank West from the Dead Rising series. The game didn't change much but being one of these bad-asses sure made me think so.

Scorpion, Reptile, Sub-Zero & Raiden - NBA Jam

Not content with throwing in one of the most powerful, political couples of the time (Bill and Hillary Clinton), Midway decided that they wanted to see what b-ball skills some of the Mortal Kombat roster has. Including Raiden, Reptile, Sub-Zero and Scorpion into the fold made for some pretty awesome basketball games. The only problem was arguing with your friends over who would play as Team Netherealm.

Tanner - GTA III

One of the biggest franchises of the time, Grand Theft Auto, decides to take the mickey out of another large franchise of the time. Everyone remembers Driver,  one of the best driving games to ever come out on the original PlayStation. Well so do the developers at Rockstar, when one of your missions has you dealing with a detective who 'runs funny' and also drives a muscle car. Now they don't ever say his name but the running funny and muscle car part? Definitely a rip on Tanner and his later installments when he has the ability to get out of his cars.

Heihachi & Xiaoyu - Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2

Heihachi has appeared numerous times in a number of different games but who knew the billionaire CEO could use a racket? It seems that when he isn't planning on killing his son and ruling the world in Tekken, he's working on his serves. First time cameo for Ling however, which makes me wonder why they included her and not, say, Kazuya or Jin? The Mishimas could put their rivalry to the side for a few doubles games...

Solid Snake - Evolution Skateboarding

One of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater imitation rip-offs, Evolution Skateboarding was pretty much a simple, skateboarding game. Complete with challenges, time limits, decent graphics, and an amalgam of different tricks to pull off, this game wasn't so bad when you got into it. Unfortunately, the THPS franchise completely overshadowed any skateboarding game that tried to release. One way to put your game on the map is to include a cameo as a playable character. None other than 90's stealth-hero, Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid.

Samus & Link - Super Mario RPG

In the 90's, RPG attempt at putting Mario in a genre he definitely didn't belong, Super Mario RPG was a surprisingly great game. Taking on RPG roots, a level-up system, and turn-based battles, this game happened to also include some cameos from other Nintendo icons. In one part of the tavern/inn, Link can be found sleeping in one of the beds. Approach him to try and talk and he will just sing one of the iconic Legend of Zelda songs. Samus from Metroid is also sleeping in a bed but this time it's in the Royal Mushroom Castle, where she lets you know that she is "Resting for Mother Brain." We'll just leave you both there until your game time comes around.

Altair Ibn-La'AHad - The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

You wouldn't expect to see it in a serious RPG like The Witcher 2, but it does give you a small hint in the game's title Assassins of Kings. Approaching one of the destroyed barns in one of the towns will have you come across a broken hale bay cart. You even notice a dead person in a white, hooded outfit, so you move in for a closer look. At this point, it's 100% clear who the developers are trying to mock. It seems Altair (from Assassin's Creed) was attempting to assassinate one of the kings in the game but failed to land one of his famous eagle drops correctly. Oh yeah, you know he's dead.

Proving that video games and cameos are a fantastic mix, even when it doesn't make sense at all, cameos are the stuff of much conversation. I hope you enjoyed and probably even learned about some cameos you didn't know where there. Thanks for reading our latest listicle!

So what did you think? Did I miss any major video game character cameos you think should have been included? Don't forget to leave a comment below!

Duck Dynasty
\n

Now we're talking! This little gem is the creme de la creme of licensed games. It includes so many activities like driving a truck, fishing, shooting beavers in their natural habitat, and of course, shooting ducks after deceiving them with a duck call!

\n

Who wouldn't love that?!

\n

No one. Ever.

\n

Seriously though, except for Duck Dynasty and many others, there are some great licensed games out there not worthy of the associated negative stigma.

\n

If you haven't played them, seek them out!

\n

Also, if I left any game out or you want to talk about shooting ducks, please feel free to leave me a comment below!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time
\n

This one is a lot like The Simpsons beat-em-up where players can play cooperatively as one of the four Ninja Turtles. But this time, there's lots of pizza involved.

\n

This game was a lot of fun, but could very difficult at certain spots. Also developed by once-wonderful Konami, this title is actually their best selling arcade game to date.

\n

People do love themselves some turtles. And time.

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay
\n

Back when this game was released in 2004, I remember how surprised everyone was that a game based on a movie did not suck! Developed by Starbreeze Studios, for its time, Riddick was an impressive looking game.

\n

Additionally, it featured unique stealth gameplay when the game could have easily just been a standard beat-em-up.

\n

Also, you get Vin Diesel! I'm sure that's bound to make someone out there excited!

Duck Tales
\n

Normally, if you saw a title like DuckTales on the store shelves, you would likely assume it to be crap. I mean it's a kid's game based on a cartoon. Of course, it's going to be crap!

\n

Well, in this particular case, you'd be absolutely wrong. DuckTales is a completely functional and incredibly fun platformer. I'm serious! If you don't believe me, check out the recently released remaster for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
\n

Although there are good Lord of the Rings based RTS titles that could easily be placed on this list, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor was not only fun, but innovative in design that allowed for players capture forts and defeat rival loud-mouthed Orc generals.

\n

Although some could say that Warner Brothers is getting a bit too repetitive with this gameplay design, such as in the recent Mad Max, it does not make this game any less addictive.

\n

I have to capture each fort, defeat each general, and pick up every flippin' herb that appears along the path. Warner Brothers has developed great gameplay mechanics that completely appease my OCD.

GoldenEye: 007
\n

If you had a Nintendo 64 back in the day (or even now), you have likely played GoldenEye. Developed by the geniuses at Rare, GoldenEye redefined the first-person shooter by starting a trend towards more realistic shooters.

\n

The game had incredibly atmospheric moments and had that awesome escort mission with Natalya. You know you loved how she would take forever to activate that console!

Star Wars: Battlefront
\n

Star Wars and video games have had a long history together. Sometimes things go well and other times, well, let's just say things don't often work out.

\n

While Bioware's Knights of the Old Republic was a huge contender for this place on the list, I had to give it to Star Wars: Battlefront. No, it does not contain a deep story woven from the Star Wars lore. However, it is an incredibly fun shooter. Sometimes, that's just all you need.

\n

Confession! I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan, but I played this game endlessly. I had a lot of fun eradicating enemies near Mos Eisley while the Cantina theme played on a loop.

\n

A new Battlefront title is releasing late this year, so here's hoping it will be just as good as its predecessor.

South Park: Stick of Truth
\n

Although Stick of Truth went through development hell, developer Obsidian and publisher Ubisoft managed to create an excellent title. With the assistance of show creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Stick of Truth captured the show's style and humor perfectly.

\n

The throwback turn-based RPG battle system was fun and made for some great in-game jokes. Although the gameplay might not have been deep, the game was thoroughly enjoyable even for those just watching from the sofa.

\n

As a long time fan of South Park, Stick of Truth was definitely worth the wait. This was my personal Game of the Year for 2014. Of course, I'm anxiously awaiting the sequel, Fractured But Whole, releasing (hopefully) in 2016.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
\n

Of course, there have been tons of Batman games released over the years, some are good and some are well...incredibly bad. However, when Arkham Asylum was released in 2009, gamers were given the Batman game they always wanted.

\n

Amassing critical acclaim as well as succeeding to resonate with gamers, this action-adventure game featured great gameplay, numerous cameos by characters from the Batman universe, and an excellent performance of the Joker by Mark Hamill.

\n

Although I could have easily chosen fan favorite Arkham City, the often forgotten Arkham Origins, or the Batmobile-centric Arkham Knight, the original is what made us fall in love with series in the first place.

The Simpsons
\n

Released in 1991 by the once-not-so-evil Konami, The Simpsons arcade game was a classic beat-em-up title. It utilized the style of the show well, incorporating bright colorfully designed levels and fun gameplay, as America's favorite animated family fights their way through hoards of Mr. Burns' minions to save baby Maggie.

\n

The game was super fun at the arcade as four players could play cooperatively and assume the role of either Homer, Marge, Bart, or Lisa. Thankfully, the game did receive an HD port for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Although, I do miss playing this at the arcade.

TellTale's The Walking Dead
\n

TellTale's The Walking Dead series took most gamers completely by surprise. When it was announced, the game was met with little excitement. However, with each episode released, the series garnered not only more critical acclaim, but also respect from gamers for its excellent writing and characters.

\n

With TellTale having only released a few titles such as Sam & Max and Back to the Future, most of us didn't know what to expect from the developer. However, TellTale managed to create an immersive and powerful narrative influenced by player choice.

\n

TellTale has done an excellent job (okay, maybe not so much with Jurassic Park!) at weaving their own stories into pre-existing, licensed universes.

It's a popular opinion among gamers that licensed games are terrible. Although that opinion might be mostly valid, there are some great, licensed titles that manage to defy this common belief.

\n

I've composed a list of a few games which managed to do what most licensed games cannot do: not suck!

\n

This list is mostly based on my opinion as well as overall critical acclaim. If you don't see a game on the list, please feel free to leave a comment below.

1. The Walking Dead

\n

Try The Walking Dead. People talk about this game as though it revolutionized storytelling in video games. While I wouldn't go so far as to say that, it's still a very good story. It uses the zombie apocalypse as a backdrop to explore mankind's morality, seeing what happens when we're pushed to our limits. The best part, though, is that there are no right answers. Everything is open to discussion. Now why can't the games based on the TV show be this good?

2. Batman: Arkham Asylum

\n

But of course, Arkham City could never beat the original. Unlike prior Batman games, Arkham Asylum feels exactly like a Batman comic in game form. (No doubt The Animated Series' involvement with this game helped a bit.) Arkham Asylum also sported a compelling world to explore and fantastic stealth segments. What could possibly outperform a game like Batman: Arkham Asylum?

3. Batman: Arkham City

\n

I imagine a lot of people were skeptical of Arkham City's premise when they first heard about it. However, putting Batman in an open world feels like a natural extension of gameplay concepts in Arkham Asylum. The exploration and thug fights make a lot of sense in the desolate streets of Arkham City. It also helps that the game has memorable villains (The Penguin, Mr. Freeze) and just as memorable moments tailored to them.

4. The Adventures of Batman & Robin

\n

Like Aladdin, Batman and Robin had SNES and Genesis games that shared only a name. The SNES version was a mediocre action game that closely followed the cartoon. The Genesis version eschewed the cartoon influences and instead focused on gameplay. Like Treasure or Konami games, it's a demanding, challenging experience, and all the more rewarding for it. (Also worth noting is the Mad Hatter boss fight.)

5. Bucky O'Hare

\n

But Capcom was not the only company putting out platformers on the NES. Konami had their own approach, and Bucky O'Hare exemplifies this. Like most Konami games, Bucky O'Hare is a challenging experience that constantly demands your attention. It's also one of the better platformers for the NES.

6. Little Nemo: The Dream Master

\n

Yes, this is another game that people don't know is based on a comic property. But this time, it's for good reason: Nemo hasn't seen a comic in nearly a century. But he did see this Capcom platformer, which I believe is a fair trade-off. It reflects the craft and charm 8-bit Capcom platformers are oft known for.

7. Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3

\n

A long title, I'll admit, but it's not unwarranted. Penny Arcade 3 comes courtesy of Zeboyd Games, the indie company known for their parody RPGs like Breath of Death VII and Cthulhu Saves the World. This design feels right at home with the abrasive Penny Arcade brand of humor in this game. In addition, the game sports a simple but worthwhile class system to mess around with.

8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time

\n

For those who don't know, the TMNT franchise did not start with the popular cartoon. Rather, it started with a black and white Daredevil parody comic. Anyway, Turtles in Time represents the best of the TMNT video games, and perhaps the best that the beat-em-up genre had to offer.

9. Spiderman 2

\n

A lot of people remember this game as "licensed games done right," back in the day when licensed games were a larger gamble. While I personally have trouble remembering the gritty details about Spiderman 2, what I remember of it is quite positive. The swinging mechanics were fun, and so was the open world of New York City. Included with that were some memorable moments from the movie.

10. Astro Boy: Omega Factor

\n

Sadly, this 2004 release is one of the Game Boy Advance's more overlooked action titles. It comes from Treasure, the developers behind Dynamite Headdy, Mischief Makers, and Guardian Heroes, and they clearly left their mark on this game. It's a solid action title, with strong replayability and a good base in Astro Boy mythos.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - "Final Battle Against Ganon"

OoT was a darker game for the console it was on and this song really drove that point home. Later Ganondorf/Ganon fights in the series have been much more lightly colored and less ominous sounding. While trading in a memorable melody for an atmospheric standoff, it worked wonders in instilling the feeling that you were really fighting an ancient and most powerful evil.

This truly is the definitive Ganon fight and one of the many reasons this game is a timeless classic.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl - "Main Theme"

\n

In practice, every fight in Smash Bros is a boss fight and this is by far the best one. Nobuo Uematsu was contracted specifically to write it.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 - "Final Bowser Battle"

I wish this fight was harder or went on longer so players could really hear the whole thing once or twice. You can hear the same sort of chorus most likely inspired by the Super Smash Bros. Brawl main theme.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - "Cornered!"

The "boss" fights mean so much in the Pheonix Wright series as they are the literal culmination of all the work you ever did. You line up your evidence just right and make that defendant sweat their way into jail.

Banjo-Kazooie: "Final Battle"

Here's a great example of a final boss theme that instills a rushed, pressured feeling important to most final battles while maintaining the overall feel of the title you played. The final battle with Gruntilda still keeps the quirky sound of the overarching game with musical references to your past experiences.

Shadow of the Colossus - "Revived Power"

A lot of work went into the music of boss fights in this game, and so much is said using only musical cues. Rightfully so, since SotC really only consists of bosses and travel time between them. This music celebrates that moment when you find the weak point on these beasts.

Pokemon Black and White / Black 2 and White 2: "Elite Four Theme"

This track perfectly sums up the culmination and peak of your time as a Pokemon trainer: The fast paced exhilaration that comes from facing the hardest challenge.

Super Mario 64 - "Bowser's Theme"

Something about this theme just makes me envision Bowser wearing black sunglasses and a spiked leather jacket.

"So long King Bowser!"

Conker: Live and Reloaded - "The Great Mighty Poo"

With titles like Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong in their library, Rare has always been a childhood favorite of mine and really command fantastic soundtracks... But the boldness of Conker's Bad Fur Day takes the cake. I can fairly say this is the first and last time I've heard a pile of feces sing opera at me. Definitely a unique fight to go with a hilarious theme.

Final Fantasy VI - "Dancing Mad (Full Song)"

Many debate that this theme and Kefka as a villain are the best in the series. "Dancing Mad" is a work of art. It consists of four different movements that some describe are Kefka's last speech: The first being his realization of ultimate magical power, the second being his twisted satisfaction in killing for fun and without purpose, the third acting as the villian's mockery of "meaningless" things like religion and art, and the fourth detailing the final stage of the fight and the eventual sadness that comes with Kefka's realization that it's all over.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars - "Dodo's Coming!"

A quirky theme for a unique fight. Mario is poorly disguised as a statue and must remain incognito inside a baddie's castle. Instead of the typical "fight," Mario must dodge pecks and continue to look like the other statues while a big dumb bird waddles around looking for you.

Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles - "Bloody Tears"

This theme plays throughout the early Castlevania titles, but unfortunately has found no love in the series reboots. Maybe it's a little too upbeat for the darker theme of vampire hunting, but one of the series' best nonetheless.

Donkey Kong Country - "Gangplank Galleon"

Starting off lighthearted as you enter the pirate king's domain, the theme soon gets a little more serious with those long '80s-cop-movie-esque tones. So, so satisfying to hear that "KRUNK!" as you nail King K. Rool with a monkey jump.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) - "Solaris 2 Theme"

It's a shame this great piece of music was wasted on such a poor game.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children - "One-Winged Angel"

Remixed for the CGI sequel to FFVII, One-Winged Angel is the theme song for an ascended Sephiroth. Both VI and VII themes allude to the villain's power comparable to a god.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - "Koume & Kotake"

"Koume & Kotake" (better known as "Twinrova") have one of the best themes in the Zelda series. Combining just the right amount of creepy and playful, this song accurately describes their role as tricksters and the matrons of Ganondorf. The award for Most Likely to be Featured in a Clown Nightmare goes to the "Koume & Kotake" theme.

Bravely Default - "That Person's Name Is.."

This might be the only boss theme on the list that I could describe as pretty as well as badass. An instant classic that gets your adrenaline pumping.

Super Mario Galaxy - "Attack of the Airships"

This song plays typically when Mario is boarding a Bowser airship. This theme reappears throughout the Mario titles and effectively captures the power at Bowser's command. Bowser seems to have a different theme for every game he's in but the airship track best represents his own empire: The king of reptiles with thousands of minions and a fleet of flying airships at his command. Every title in the series seems to start the same way...Bowser already has captured Princess Peach.

Mega Man 2 - "Dr. Wily's Castle"

This track has achieved stardom through fan remixes and internet hype. Even if you don't know what game it's from you probably have heard the melody once or twice.

Final Fantasy X - "Otherworld"

This theme plays once at the start of the game and again much later during an important boss fight. There's something liberating about fighting a boss to a metal theme while being constricted to turn based combat.
