Level-5 is the latest in a growing list of third-party developers to express interest in the Nintendo Switch.

In a recent interview with Vandal.net, Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino was asked his opinion on the upcoming Switch, to which he replied:

“We plan to make games for Nintendo Switch, but I think it’s very important to find out the best way to get the most out of the console. For that reason, we won’t have any titles at launch, but we’ll work with it as soon as we figure out how to take advantage of it.”

The statement casts some doubt over whether Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom,  announced last year, will be released for the Switch. Though at the very least, we can be sure of a Level-5 game for the platform at some point.

As the developer of massively popular games like Yokai Watch and Professor Layton, Level-5 has been a regular presence on the Nintendo DS and 3DS, but have often outsourced their home console titles to PlayStation platforms, especially for their American releases. However, it seems like the Switch may change things up a bit, likely thanks in part to its portable nature.

Cute, Kid-Friendly, and Kinda Dead -- Yo-kai Watch 2 Releases Next Week https://www.gameskinny.com/sorkz/cute-kid-friendly-and-kinda-dead-yo-kai-watch-2-releases-next-week https://www.gameskinny.com/sorkz/cute-kid-friendly-and-kinda-dead-yo-kai-watch-2-releases-next-week Thu, 22 Sep 2016 08:41:39 -0400 Jeffrey Rousseau

Next week, Nintendo will be releasing Yo-kai Watch 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will feature two titles:Yo-kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls and Yo-kai Watch: Bony Spirits

Yo-kai Watch is a JRPG series developed by Level-5 that was originally released 2013 in Japan. The game saw a North American release in 2015 when it was published by Nintendo.

The series is based on the story of Nate or Katie, as they discover ghosts are real. Yokai can be found everywhere and come in all shapes and sizes. Many them also happen to be mischievous and violent. Armed with a special watch and the ability to see them the hero or heroine is tasked to stop their fiendish ways.

The series has also become a multimedia franchise that includes an anime and various mangas based upon its characters as well.

Yo-kai Watch 2 features a number of improvements over its predecessor. The game feature over 400 monsters to befriend and obtain. Players will also have the ability to gain more experience, funds, and etc. The open world environment is also larger than the first game.

Fans of monster theme games and JRPGs can look forward to Yo-kai Watch 2 next week.

The Differences Between Yokai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls and Bony Spirits https://www.gameskinny.com/pl5ft/the-differences-between-yokai-watch-2-fleshy-souls-and-bony-spirits https://www.gameskinny.com/pl5ft/the-differences-between-yokai-watch-2-fleshy-souls-and-bony-spirits Fri, 16 Sep 2016 08:05:55 -0400 Synzer

Yokai Watch 2 is coming out soon for the Nintendo 3DS, and this time there are 2 versions to choose from: Fleshy Souls and Bony Spirits. These can also be referred to as as Gold (Fleshy Souls) and Silver (Bony Spirits).

Like the Pokemon series, the only significant differences between the 2 versions is which Yokai you can get. There are also pre-order bonuses, so keep that in mind if you decide to get one or both of these games.

I'll list the versions exclusives, and gives links so you can see what they look like, to help you decide which version to get if you are on the fence.

Version Exclusives

Pre-order Bonus

Each version has their own pre-order exclusive as well. This is also different depending on whether you get a physical or digital copy.

The physical copies come with a medal you can scan in the game to get a new soultimate move for Jibanyan.

Below are the Yokai you get if you pre-order a digital copy of each.

Fleshy Souls
  • Sailornyan
Bony Spirits
  • Robonyan F
