Dungeons & Golf World: Where Final Fantasy II Characters Go to Golf

FFII developer Miyagawa Yoshiyuki brings Dungeons and Golf World to the App Store.

A gameplay screen which my old Japanese friend showed me was quite familiar, even though I had never played the game before. Was it some kind of fantasy-based MMO? Surprisingly he said it was a popular ‘golf’ game in Japan.

A golf game? Why does it look so familiar?

I had played some mobile-based golf games such as Golf Star and Let’s Golf, but this one didn’t look like a golf game at all (I will talk about this later). I made some searchs in Google and found out something more interesting.

Miyagawa Yoshiyuki, the famous programmer to the fans of Final Fantasy II, is now the CEO of AppBankGAMES, which developed Dungeons & Golf, December 2012, in Japan.

No doubt the game looked familiar to me: the characters are the ones in Final Fantasy II!

Over 20,000 download and 4.5 stars says that the game is pretty successful there.

So, I decided to download the game. The good news to me was that its English version has just released in the Apple app store with the name Dungeons & Golf World by Gala Lab, which is the developer of Rappelz and Flyff (Their gPotato was sold to Webzen). Combination of Gala Lab and AppBankGAMES…? Well, let’s see.
