Ubisoft’s Heroes VII Announced

Ubisoft announced during Gamescom 2014 this week that the next installment of the Might and Magic IP will be releasing sometime in 2015, and fans are choosing what factions are included.

This week Gamescom brought us many announcements, but one of the most exciting is news that Ubisoft is working on a new title in the Might and Magic IP: Heroes VII, and they’re letting the fans help them choose the remaining factions.

The announcement trailer is standard fare: a pretty CGI cinematic that somewhat outlines the plot of the new game. Coming off of their recent success with the Assassin’s Creed IP, it’s no surprise that Ubisoft is pushing forward with other series, but fans are surely wondering what can be expected from the new Might and Magic game. One thing that fans will definitely be looking forward to is the teaser at the end of the trailer that tells us fans will be choosing the remaining two factions that will join the game.

Well, those lucky enough to have gone to Gamescom this year would have played the above demo of the game, and as a fan of the series I have to say I’m very impressed with what Ubisoft has done. They’ve remained true to the roots of the series with turn-based fantasy-styled combat where players control armies in battle, but the graphical improvements make the game look beautiful.

Ubisoft has announced that Heroes VII will be launching in early 2015, and if the Gamescom demo is any indication, fans of the series will be impatiently awaiting an official release date.
