Gods are often seen as all mighty and powerful but oh how the mighty can fall. If you know anything about mythology, no matter what pantheon you choose, Gods are ranked within an hierarchy, with there being a God among Gods and then Gods that you aren't quite sure how they made the cut.
In SMITE there are a total of five classes that Gods can find themselves classified as. These classes include mage, warrior, assassin, guardian and hunter and each class has a weak link. There are also several game modes available but this post is all about God's usefulness whilst playing Conquest.
Keep reading to check out who is the flunky in their class.
Would you believe me if I told you that two heads isn't always better than one? Goddess of the Underworld is two sides to the coin both living and dead but her dual-nature can do very little to pull her up from the depths of her worst mage classification.
Based on her balance of having a high effective health, Hel is honestly prone to any attack which can have her dying quite early in the game. Her ability to heal does absolutely nothing for her not to mention any mode outside of assault renders her a useless character.
While Hel has the ability to get better mid game, if you can't even reach that level because of constantly dying, it doesn't matter.
If you really know mythology then you probably aren't too surprised to find Hercules being ruled as one of the weaker links. After all, he started out as demi-god before getting upgraded thanks to Zeus granted he could use one from Hi-Rez Studio as well.
While he may have a burst early on the game, often Hercules can fall behind later on and struggle when faced against tankier warriors. Hercules also has an unreliable ultimate and becomes very weak during moments of cool down and low mana.
Sun Wu Kong is also worth mentioning as a close second as he and Hercules differ just by 10 points when it comes to overall health. SWK at least has a notably more stable escape ability allowing him to get out of tough spots easily.
Let's be honest, Serqet has been getting hate for the last three years and with reason.
Her attack is below the average attack power of the assassin class with her health being no better. She has also proven to be a very buggy character which only leads to more player frustration and her being further disowned as a reliable assassin.
The role of the Guardian is to pretty much be the martyr of their group, putting themselves at their teammates beck and call and keep them from harm. Based on that alone, Sylvanus fails with flying colours.
His passive is fairly unreliable and he has terrible reach as his passive and 1 can only deal damage to one enemy and while it may be a good amount of damage, it certainly isn't good enough. Along with that he only has one heal capability which pretty makes his ultimate the only thing that makes you want to play him.
Ah Muzen Cab, often known as AMC, is the God of Bees within the Mayan Pantheon. He also known as the worst Hunter.
To make it short and sweet, AMC has absolutely no crowd control and non crowd control immune ability during his ultimate. Speaking of which, his ultimate also is rather difficult to land.
Many complain he doesn't play as a Hunter or a Carry and is a character that relies on his team heavily which is never a good thing while playing Conquest.
True he may be a valuable player in modes such as Joust but in Conquest he is just the worst.
Any good gamer knows that while stats make a difference in your character's playability and success, it is ultimately the player who decides how well their God of choice does.
Of course, it goes without saying that some Gods certainly could use a bit of patching up to be viable players within the arena. The new year has just started so maybe we will see some new patches for some of these Gods, Chaac recently just received one which allowed him to avoid being an honorable mention.
That being said; let us know who you think is the weakest of each class.
