Minecraft To Have Built-In Twitch Broadcasting
As many know, this past weekend MineCon 2013 took place, and as with every year, tons of Minecraft players from around the world gathered to celebrate their favorite game.
However, this year there was a bit of an interesting announcement for livestreamers - Minecraft will soon feature Twitch streaming built into the client. No longer will you have to configure XSplit or OBS, you'll be able to stream automatically straight from the game!
The announcement comes from both Twitch and Mojang as part of a new partnership between the two companies. Although no specific date was announced, the functionality is expected to come to both PC and Mac versions "soon," whereas PS4 and Xbox One will already have Twitch broadcasting support built-in.
According to GamerHub, Matthew DiPietro, Vice President of Marketing at Twitch, had this to say about their new partnership:
"Minecraft has struck a very powerful chord with the Twitch community. Its constantly escalating popularity illustrates that people love to watch video games outside of the headline grabbing eSports titles. Expect a watershed moment for both players and spectators once the ability to easily broadcast gameplay directly to Twitch goes live.”
What do you think? Have you wanted to stream Minecraft but haven't done so because it was complicated? Do you think you will once the feature is added? Let me know in the comments below!
