Caramel Mokaccino is an otome visual novel game that is currently in development by Apple Cider. Otome games are dating simulators aimed towards a female audience. Caramel Mokaccino will allow the player to pursue a relationship with both male and female characters. The developers hope to release the game by December 2016.
The player plays as Penny, an 18 year old girl who just started college. In order to support herself and live on her own, Penny has a part time job at Caramel Mokaccino, a cafe close to her college. In the game, the player explores Penny’s new college life to make new friends, and possibly even pursue a romantic relationship.
The game will feature 5 or so characters that Penny can befriend and/or romance. The game will also feature more than 10 endings and many detailed and beautiful illustrations for locations and events.
The game’s Kickstarter project launched on May 15, 2016, with a goal of $9,205, and ends on June 19, 2016. The project already reached its goal and has over $15k pledges.
While most of the project’s reward tiers feature digital rewards, the $50 USD and above tiers will include a goodie bag with small physical rewards.
