Lets Not and Say We Did: Evil Within gameplay demo

Shinji Mikami's latest survival horror title to be released sometime next year.

Today on the #Ican’t and #NOPE scale of things beyond my capability to play, is the new gameplay trailer for The Evil Within.

Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partner arrive to the scene of a gruesome murder to find a powerful force lying in wait for them. It quickly gets real when they witness their fellow police officers being slaughtered in front of them. The demo begins with Sebastian awakening (upside down mind you), to some pretty grisly and stomach-knotting scenes of slaughter.

Of course that’s not brutal enough, so the demo also stars a chainsaw-wielding butcher who manages to turn our hero into mince meat. Combine that with his discovering the world is filled with savage creatures with a taste for human flesh and you have one big game filled with #nope. But I’m also a squeamish sissy so feel free to carry on if you have the stomach for the madness and check the trailer.

The Evil Within seems like it’s going to be a return to the throwback days of survival horror, combining the best of the shoot-n-kill vibe of Resident Evil and the eff with your mind perfection that is Silent Hill.

The Evil Within is set for release next year on PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One and PC. It is Tango Gameworks debut title, which was founded by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. Fun fact is that Tango Gameworks was acquired by the owner of Bethesda, ZeniMax Media. So Bethesda + Shinji Mikami? Technically there’s not many ways this could go wrong….right?

What do you guys think of the trailer?
