I am so unbelievably bored and empty without Final Fantasy XIV in my life. No other game has been able to fill that void since Phase 3 ended. Phase 4 of the beta can’t start soon enough.
This is one of the hardest waits for a game I’ve ever had, and from the looks of Twitter several other beta participants are in the same boat. If you are one of the many, cure that longing just a tad with this convenient FFXIV HUD simulator, which serves as a pretty great way to both waste time and make a snazzy wallpaper.
The web app allows you to customize your action bars and backdrop so you can at least pretend you’re back at home in Eorzea.

The ‘Wall’ tab to the left allows you to choose a backdrop image from your hard drive, ‘Widget’ allows you to choose what HUD components you want visible, ‘Action’ provides a list of abilities to put on your bars, and the ‘Capture’ tab allows you to take a shot of your customized HUD with the backdrop you’ve uploaded. It’s pretty dern snazzy.
FFXIV Beta Phase 4 is coming soon, but waiting is not so easy when you don’t want to play anything else. This HUD simulator is entertaining, but unfortunately it doesn’t help much with the crushing itch to log in and practice being a Culinarian. Doesn’t help much at all.
