Xenogears, Xenosaga, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Xeno..? Monolith Soft revealed an upcoming Xeno-something game for the Wii U during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct presentation, and boy does it look nice.

The art style and gameplay are very Xenoblade Chronicles-esque, as to be expected considering the game’s international success. Large, beautiful environments and massive angry beasts, and Hiroyuki Sawano’s signature music style abound.

The give away that this is a Xeno game? The hopping into a gear at 0:50 and riding it into combat. The big red ‘X’ at the very end is also a giveaway, but I trust you not to ruin my illusion of detective grandeur.

This is by no means the only exciting announcement made during the most recent Nintendo Direct presentation. The Wii U is looking better and better as more developers step forward and take a chance on the console. It might not have started out as strong as Nintendo had hoped, but with studios like Monolith Soft, Platinum Games, Atlus, and so many others moving toward the Wii U, 2013 is looking pretty solid for them.
