Metro Redux Brings Two Last-Gen Gems to Nintendo Switch

Explore a dying world and venture well beyond your comfort zone in Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light for Nintendo Switch.

4A and Deep Silver have announced that Metro Redux is coming to Nintendo Switch on February 28. The package contains Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, along with all previously-launched DLC. Everything fits on one card, so no additional downloads are required should you purchase the physical edition.

Set in 2033 Moscow, 10 years after a disaster poisoned the Earth’s surface, Metro 2033 tells the story of people forced to live underground. A new threat looms on the horizon, and it’s up to you — someone who’s never before gone beyond the city limits (though you aren’t called Sam Gamgee) — to journey forth into the Metro and warn the other inhabitants of the impending doom.

The problem is they don’t really care. The Metro is divided into fractious factions bent on conflict and domination, and a doomsday device that could potentially end the world is pretty appealing to them.

Metro: Last Light continues that story and is set in 2034.

Each game offers two distinct playstyles that let you experience it in a completely different way. There’s Survival Mode, which turns the experience into more of a stealth-themed horror adventure, along with the more combat-oriented Spartan Mode.

While it might not be as technically impressive that the Switch is getting these two last-gen gems, what with The Witcher 3 running so well on the system, both games are among the best the previous generation has to offer.
