Hi folks, my name is Byronyk and I am a YouTube commentator, gaming enthusiast, and Hearthstone beta tester. I have spent years working with gaming organizations including eSports management and fan-site development. Today, I’m bringing to you one of the most exciting and trending games at the moment — Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.
Hearthstone is a TCG developed by Blizzard Entertainment. If you are familiar with Magic: The Gathering, you will feel right at home with Hearthstone. For those unfamiliar with TCGs in general, I will kindly direct you to Google as this is supposed to be an article, not a book (Seriously, there are books on TCGs.)
I will say, right off the bat, Hearthstone appeals to me for two major reasons. The first being is that you can sit down for 15 minutes and get a lot done in one sitting. This is huge for me as I have a full-time job, a girlfriend, and my YouTube channel to manage. In a 15 minute session, I can play two games against other players, edit my deck, and organize my cards. There are game modes that take longer such as Arena (Draft), but we’ll get into that much later.
The second appeal of Hearthstone is – quite simply – the Warcraft universe. I have played World of Warcraft for 6-7 years, of which I spent time in a US-NA top #13 guild, achieved a 2350 rating in arenas, and gained many friends. If this talk blows right over your head, don’t worry about it. It just means I’m a nerd. Be right back, I’m going to cry and hug myself.
