Captain Tsubasa Release Date Trailer, Special Edition Info Hit the Pitch

Bandai Namco's new Captain Tsubasa game finally has a release date, special editions, and a snazzy new trailer.

Bandai Namco’s Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions finally has a release date. The arcade-style soccer game will launch for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on August 28, some 10 years after the last Captain Tsubasa game released for consoles.

Aside from news of the game’s release date, there’s a number of Captain Tsubasa special editions on offer as well. Here’s what they contain:

Captain Tsubasa Standard Edition
  • Includes full game only
Captain Tsubasa Deluxe Edition
  • Full game
  • Character pass with nine DLC characters added to the already full Captain Tsubasa roster.
  • Bonus champions’ uniforms, including V. Jump collaboration uniform
Captain Tsubasa Collector’s Edition
  • Full game
  • Tsubasa Ozora figurine
  • Artboard
  • Steelbook
  • Collectible laminated cards
  • Collector’s box
  • Embroidered badges
  • All DLC from the deluxe edition
Captain Tsubasa Champions Edition

The Captain Tsubasa Champions Edition includes everything from the collector’s edition, plus a special customized soccer jersey.

Captain Tsubasa Legends Edition

And finally is the Captain Tsubasa Legends Edition, which is everything from the Champions Edition plus a fully customized, full-sized soccer/Foosball table from noted table manufacturer Rene Pierre.

At the time of writing, it’s not completely certain whether pre-orders are actually open yet or where. The editions are only mentioned on Bandai Namco’s European website, but the links to actually pre-order Captain Tsubasa don’t lead to a product page.

We enjoyed our time with Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions quite a bit when we got the chance to preview it a while back, and we’re looking forward to seeing the final product in all its glory.
