Fleece is one of the earlier Weaver materials in FFXIV. You’ll need to manually farm for it, and you’ll need a large amount of it, too. If you’re here, you’re wondering how to get it.

There are two primary methods of obtaining Fleece in Final Fantasy XIV, though there are some levequests that grant it as well. In this guide, we’ll go over how to acquire the material, as well as highlight where to pick up the most efficient levequests that have a chance of rewarding it.

How to Farm Fleece in FFXIV

Farm Karakuls for Fleece

This is the fastest and most reliable way to get Fleece, and it’s very easy as long as you’re not within the level range for the Ornery Karakuls you need to farm.

The map below shows where Ornery Karakuls spawn, which drop at a reasonable rate per kill. Not all farming spots are equal, however! The Ornery Karakuls just south of Camp Dragonhead and east of the camp to the south have the highest drop rate of these cute little nuisances.

The traveling distance is a bit much to viably add the southern-most spawns to an efficient farming route, but going around Camp Dragonhead itself is pretty quick, even with the other Ornery Karakul spawns not having as high of a drop chance.

Focus on the spawns around Camp Dragonhead for your fastest farm, with the biggest emphasis on the ones just to the south. It should only take you a few rounds of flying around the vicinity to get your route down.

Gardening for Fleece

Gardening can only be done by those with personal housing plots or players in an FC with a house, who have gardening permissions.

How do you get Fleece from gardening? By growing and exchanging Voidrake.

Voidrake Seeds are sold by NPCs called Resident Caretakers, who are found in housing districts. A single bag of Voidrake Seeds costs 300 Company Credits, which are a currency tied to your FC.

It takes 24 hours to grow Voidrake, and you’ll want to use Grade 3 Shroud Topsoil to increase your yields.

Once grown, you’ll want to seek out another vendor NPC in your housing district: the Material Supplier. These don’t tend to be far from the Resident Caretakers, though they are easy enough to miss.

You can exchange one Voidrake for five Fleece under the Curious Crop Exchange option, which is by no means shabby.

Levequests for Fleece

Depending on your luck, this could be the fastest way to get Fleece. But it could also be the slowest.

The Level 45 Weaver levequests in Mor Dhona, down in Saint Coinach’s Find to the east, have a chance of granting 16 Fleece per turn-in. The downside is that there’s no guarantee they’ll offer it as a reward, and you’ll need to either craft or buy the requisite items for the turn-ins. It’s not the best option, but you may get lucky and have the funds to go this route. Though it may just be cheaper to buy it than bother with this option.

That’s all you really need to know about getting Fleece in FFXIV: Endwalker, a weaving material more cumbersome to get than most. The fact it’s used in the crafting of Skybuilders’ Cloth for Firmament collectable turn-ins is probably the actual biggest driver of sales, and very well may be what’s got you looking for it.
