Social media is becoming a huge part of the journalism business. It can be a great way to get your writing out there. Reddit and Twitter can get you views, but our favorite social media site might be exactly what you need to get more support. Try Facebook.
I’ve had a lot of success with using Facebook to get more views on my articles. Family and friends are great jumping off points for getting your articles attention. Using the ‘share’ option can increase the amount of viewer possibilities from hundreds to thousands. One ‘share’ can lead to even more.
Facebook now has hashtags. Although, they haven’t gained as much popularity as Twitter hashtags, they are a new way to reach more viewers. I would suggest trying the hashtags and seeing how much success you have in using it.
Facebook, like Twitter, allows you tag different people and companies. Writing an article about a new Borderlands 2 DLC? Just tag Borderlands 2, Gearbox and even tag the GameSkinny Facebook page. This allows more people to see it, pretty much like Twitter. You also have the opportunity to have friends, family and BL2 fans ‘share’ it now that it has been posted to the Borderlands 2 Facebook page.
I think Facebook is a great way to get your article out there. Not only can you reach a wider audience, but it seems that Facebook is joining with times and doing almost everything Twitter can do.
