Overwatch might see its first Halloween update starting as early as tomorrow. This rumor comes after a number of images started circling on /r/Overwatch earlier this morning. The images were posted by Reddit user ChronosHero who found an Xbox Store item titled “Overwatch – 2 Halloween Loot Boxes” on the store’s front page.

Of the four images taken, these three in particular serve as strong evidence of an upcoming Halloween themed update:

According to ChronosHero, the Halloween Loot Boxes also had the following description:

Celebrate halloween with some frightening treats for your heroes during a new event : overwatch halloween terror!

Trick out your collection by picking up halloween loot boxes, availables for a limmited time. Every loot box contains up to four cosmetic items, including at least one halloween skin, highlight intro, emote, victory pose, player icon, voice line , or credits that you can use to unlock other items. more then 100 halloween items are waiting to be unwrapped!

if your halloween loot box contain an item that is already in your collection, you will instead receive coins

*Halloween loot boxes are available to purchase or earn in-game until 11/1/16 at 4pm pt.

While Blizzard and the Overwatch team have yet to make an official statement about a Halloween themed event, these images appear to be clear evidence of an upcoming update. If the information in the description provided is accurate, chances are that this update will begin as early as tomorrow or next Monday, seeing as the event would likely run for at least 2 weeks if Blizzard hopes to make a sizable profit.

While I typically suggest taking rumors with a grain of salt, this one is backed up particularly well. Provided the images are not photoshopped, the Xbox Store would be an infallible source for this information. Furthermore, online multiplayer games such as Team Fortress 2 and MOBA titles often hold holiday events, so a Halloween update for Overwatch would not be unexpected.
