Star Wars Battlefronts Outer Rim patch hits consoles today

Star Wars Battlefront has released its first expansion pack titled The Outer Rim. Those who bought the season pass get to try out all the new content but there are a few free items added as well

Star Wars Battlefront received its first expansion pack update this morning and season pass holders are now able to access The Outer Rim. The update comes with a number of additions including new weapons and a new hero and villain. While you won’t be able to access the Outer Rim without the season pass, today’s update did add in some new free content. Among the new content includes Hutt contracts that allow you to unlock two new weapons, the DL-18 and the DLT-19X. Also added was the T-7 Ion disruptor power up and this charge rifle shoots out an ion blast with quite a large radius.

A list of new features that the update adds is included in a blog post over at the Star Wars Battlefront blog. Along with the new weapons and one additional star card, the level cap has been increased from 50 to 60. As said above, The Outer Rim releases two weeks early for season pass holders but on April 5th all players will be able to buy The Outer Rim expansion for a separate price of $14.99.
