Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time Releases in July!

It really has been 4 years. Geez.

It has been quite some time since we last saw Plants vs. Zombies make any waves, but it looks like the cute tower defense is heading back into the limelight this summer with the sequel Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time.

Plants vs. Zombies community manager Stephanie Bayer confirmed the news a few hours ago via Twitter, and the teaser trailer above featuring YouTuber Francis solidifies the news. It is finally coming!

The original PvZ was released on PC in 2009 and has seen ports to just about every big platform since, including the most recent BlackBerry version of the game released in January. Its charm and addictive gameplay has made it one of the most played tower defense games in history. PvZ Adventures, the Facebook game spin-off, is currently in beta.

Will Plants vs. Zombies: It’s About Time live up to the original game? Let’s hope so as we buckle down and wait for release. More plants, zombies, modes, and maps, please! Just lay off the micro-transactions. Please don’t ruin a good thing, PopCap.
