How to Make Fiber Mesh in Subnautica Below Zero

Wondering how to craft Subnautica Below Zero fiber mesh? This guide tells you everything you need to know about the crafting resource.

Subnautica Below Zero fiber mesh is a key crafting component for several important items in the game. While you can craft it very early on, you likely won’t need to for some time — it all depends on how quickly you are able to find item and vehicle fragments in biomes close to your lifepod.

Regardless, you’ll want to know the ingredients for Below Zero fiber mesh so you can quickly create the material when you need it.

How to Craft Fiber Mesh in Subnautica Below Zero

You’ll need 2x creepvine to craft fiber mesh. Take it to the fabricator in your lifepod or base, click the Resources circle (very top of the list), then click Basic Materials circle (very top of the list). Then choose fiber mesh, which is the far-right circle on the top row.

It’s worth noting that creepvine isn’t to be confused with creepvine clusters, the pink bulbs attached to creepvine, which are used to craft silicone rubber and lubricant, for example.

You can find creepvine in any kelp forest in the game. The closest kelp forest in the early game can be found 80 meters southwest of the lifepod, just at the edge of the Twisty Bridges biome. Other kelp forests can be found 160 meters southeast of the lifepod, as well as 310 meters west of the lifepod.

You’ll need the survival knife to harvest creepvine. Approach the creepvine and slash it with your knife. You’ll get 1x creepvine for each slash, and you can harvest 4x creepvine from each harvesting node. Creepvine takes up four slots in your inventory.

It has been reported that Sea Monkeys will sometimes carry creepvine around with them, just as they do table coral, though, in roughly 14 hours of play, I’ve yet to see them carrying any. It’s most efficient to simply cut the creepvine yourself.

What is Fiber Mesh Used to Craft?

Fiber mesh is a key component in the (very important) Rebreather, as well as the composite parts of the Cold Suite and O2 Tank. You’ll also need it for various other craftables such as beds and parts of the Sea Truck.
