List of References in South Park: The Stick of Truth

I, for whatever crazy reason, decided to archive the references to other episodes within South Park: The Stick of Truth. After beginning my task of screen capturing and noting things in-game, I realized the extent of references. That is why I started with the bulk images below.

It’s amazing how many things they shoved into this game and these images below are just the start. Nearly every single item has some place in some episode. Every character in the game has some quote from the show. Not only that, the personalities of each character that I know so well is exactly on point.

Only the Beginning

The only thing I did not know off the top of my head in this post was the URL’s to each episode. If I’m wrong, call me out! You’ve found some references? Comment below! I do not plan to stop, this is only the tip of the iceberg. I still have to collect all the items in-game and list their episode references.

Cartman’s Closet

14. Casa Bonita – Cartman’s Telescope, used to trick Butters into thinking an asteroid was headed for Earth.
15. Cartman’s Incredible Gift – Cartman’s smoking jacket. Most notably worn when he had “psychic abilities”.
16. Fatbeard – Cartman’s pirate sword.

Big Gay Al’s Garage

2. Cripple Fight – Big Gay Al gets kicked from the Boy Scouts, yet defends their right to decide on not allowing gays, how humble.
3. Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset – This is actually Mr. Slave’s S&M contraption, used with Mr. Garrison as well. Notice the new addition sitting underneath… That’s Matt and Trey for you.

The others in Big Gay Al’s garage are just the generic Big Gay Al Things, his black and white snake photo of himself, his top hat and pink scarf.

I cannot tell what exactly the Mr. Mackey photo is referring too. I expect someone in the comments will answer one day!

Student Achievements

1. Fat Butt and Pancake Head – Cartman’s entry to celebrate Latin American culture was his hand puppet, Jennifer Lopez. (Not to be confused with the real Jennifer Lopez).
2. Erection Day – Jimmy begins getting his first erections, just in time for the talent show.
3. Crippled Summer – Parody on Intervention with Towelie. Takes place at “Lake Tardicaca”, a summer came for the handicapped.
4. Butterballs – Butters Grandmother is bullying him and Stan starts a campaign against bullying
5. South Park is Gay – The metrosexual fad hits South Park.
6. Dances with Smurfs – Cartman’s big break into news.
7. World Wide Recorder Concert – The boys find the brown note and unleash it upon the world to get back at some New Yorker kids.
8. T.M.I. – Cartman convinces the boys at the school that the measurements being taken in gym are measurements for their penis length, not how many inches taller they are.

Where Did It All Come From?

I found this during my time of putting this post together. I had to put this in here or I would feel bad. This is the ultimate reference. This is where it all began. Matt and Trey created this in 1992 and became what we now know as South Park. This video is said to have been one of the first “viral videos” on the internet. I would have been 2 years old at the time so I wouldn’t know.
