It is important to note that the clip is incredibly short–only 13 seconds long, and that all the assets, including the animations, are placeholders and the devs are just seeing if the Unreal Engine will be suitable for the game.

Mighty No. 9 has been called the spiritual successor to the Mega Man franchise started out as a Kickstarter, then smashed its funding goals and is now in development by a number of veterans from across Mega Man‘s franchise.

The most recent addition the team is Mega Man 2 composer Takashi Tateishi. Tateishi will be joining Ippo Yamada and Manami Matsumae, making this an all-star music team.

Mighty No. 9 may have started out as a relatively modest project, but with well over three million dollars in funding it’s shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Kickstarters to date.
