ArcheAge Profession Guide – Carpentry

An introductory guide into Carpentry and what it has to offer in ArcheAge.

Carpentry uses logs gathered from logging in order to make items. In this guide I’ll cover the different items you can make.

Basics:

Carpentry, like Metalwork, utilizes one workbench for raw material processing, and the other for making finished products. The Sawmill Station workbench takes logs and crafts them into lumber, three logs to one lumber. The Carpentry Workbench takes the lumber you’ve made and turns it into weapons and house decorations.

Weapons:

Here’s the Carpentry crafting menu at the Carpentry Workbench.

There are three weapon types crafted using lumber: Scepters, Bows, and Staves. In this section I’ll cover the prominent stats of each weapon type and the special skills on the Honor Weapons.

Scepters:

Scepters are one-handed weapons that are generally accompanied by a shield in the off-hand. Unfortunately, as Scepters are labeled as right-hand gear, it’s not possible to dual wield them. This weapon is primarily used by healers who need the extra defense offered by a shield. The primary stats on Scepters are Magic Attack, Intelligence, and Spirit.

Staves:

Staves are two-handed weapons generally used on magic based damage dealers. Due to being a two-handed weapon neither shields or other weapons are equipable with Staves. The primary stats are  Magic Attack, Stamina, Intelligence, and Spirit. Compared to Scepters, the Magic Attack is considerably higher on Staves, while the base Intelligence is slightly higher on Scepters.

Bows:

Bows go in the Ranged Gear slot, completely independent of primary weapons. No matter what kind of class you’re playing you’ll be able to equip a bow. Bows grant a ranged attack to melee builds that would normally never slot a ranged skill. The primary stats on crafted bows are Strength, Agility, and Intelligence.

Honor: Wood Weapons:

Here’s a video showcasing the bow that I found on Youtube.

These are the crafted level 50 versions of the three weapon types above. These weapons are crafted using the level 35 Honor Weapons from Honor Merchants. Below are the stats and special abilities of these weapons.

  • Honor’s Mighty Vivacious Scepter: DPS 86.4, Magic Attack 76, Stamina 9, Intelligence 23, Spirit 14. Ability: Grants one stack of Inspiration. Cooldown: 45 seconds.
  • Honor’s Mighty Dominating Staff: DPS 105.6, Magic Attack 120, Intelligence 41, Spirit 27. Ability: Deals 331-401 Magic Damage and drains 319-413 mana over 5sec. Decreases healing effectiveness by 50%; increases the duration of Stun and Trip by 30% on Enervated enemies. Cooldown: 1 minute.
  • Honor’s Mighty Entangling Bow: DPS 96.0, Agility 18, Stamina 15, Intelligence 12. Ability: Deals 282-344 Ranged Damage and Snares for 3 seconds. Cooldown: 1 minute.

Decorations:

Apart from weapons, Carpentry offers a wide variety of decor items for your house. These items range from cabinets to beds, and you can even make outdoor decor. Along with the Structures option, there’s an entry for a Farmer’s Workstation, for more in-depth Farming.
