EVE Online‘s massively multiplayer universe of New Eden just got bigger and a charity event held by players is a big-hearted way to celebrate.
As of 1300 GMT on the 22nd of January 2013, CCP Games‘ pioneering cross-platform free-to-play shooter, DUST 514, entered Open Beta. Every Playstation 3 owner can now freely download and engage in sci-fi battles which can influence the territories held in the ongoing conflicts on EVE Online.
The Open Beta also sees the end of the Non-Disclosure Agreement that was in place for all beta testers, but no screenshots or video from prior to the Open Beta can be used.
Fear not, a group of players have organised a charity event which will enable you to see the game in action and give you the opportunity to donate to Child’s Play.
“DUST 514 players from a many different corps will be taking part in a live streamed, 24 hour dust 514 marathon to raise money for the charity Child’s Play, who bring hospitalised children across the world joy through the magic of video games.”
