Amidst the multiple celebrities and plenty of costumed galactic villains and heroes, the reveals for Star Wars Battlefront 2 are expected to be plenty. In order to identify this, we have to look at the timeline of the first game back in 2015 and how it coincides with the upcoming game. In addition, as we look at this we can also mind hints along the rumor wagon.

Starting with multiple tweets from Jordan Maison, editor-in-chief at Cinelinx, who stated:

Though it can't be confirmed, it is interesting to note Maison leaked info on a "Rogue One DLC" which turned out to be true. Further clues lie in the timeline before the release of the first Star Wars Battlefront.

The first installment was first revealed at the E3 expo on June 10, 2013 and the following E3 in 2014 showed another trailer for the game. By April the release date was announced as November 17, 2015 at Star Wars Celebration that year. The timeline of the upcoming sequel runs on a far expedited scale, but we can predict the similarities will be significant. The second installment was revealed in an investors call on January 31 of this year by CEO Andrew Wilson. Wilson stated in the call:

We’re thrilled to bring a new Star Wars Battlefront game to fans worldwide in the 2017 holiday season. In the past two years, Rogue One and The Force Awakens have 4 opened new storylines and captured the imagination of hundreds of millions of Star Wars fans

The news was the official statement by the CEO even though the first mention of a sequel by DICE occurred the previous November of 2016. This statement was from EA CFO Blake Jorgensen who revealed the release date to be around the same time, holiday of 2017. The final additions to the original game occurred this past December with release of the "Rogue One: Scarif" DLC in anticipation for the upcoming movie that month. This gave DICE 10 - 12 months of solid work on other projects and the upcoming game, save minor bug fixes and balancing in smaller updates to the game that have happened already.

So what does this mean for the new games' timeline and Star Wars Celebration 2017 roughly two weeks away? On an escalated timescale we can assume a first look at the game's trailer at celebration this year. This would be similar to Star Wars Celebration 2015 where the first game details but second game trailer were released. After that we can expect celebration to be another opportunity for questions to developers about the game, but no game play until EA Play in June taking the place of E3.

Furthermore, we will get to see the game devs talk about their work on the game and the difficulty it took to expand maps, development on the new heroes, and show pride in new weapons or systems without giving away too much. The final similarity we might see is the reveal of the official release date for the game if EA follows a similar path as before.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 will likely be released before Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi in December, which will have plenty of talk at celebration as well. This would be another similarity to what EA did with the last battlefront DLC release before Rogue One. Finally, if there are any DLC's for this battlefront game like the last, at least the first will be revealed here as the first DLC for Star Wars Battlefront was shown at celebration in 2015.

Star Wars Celebration 2017 takes place April 13, with tickets on sale now. Expect the first Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer and more news before EA Play.

Star Wars: Battlefront Coming This November, According to Leak https://www.gameskinny.com/y2g8d/star-wars-battlefront-coming-this-november-according-to-leak https://www.gameskinny.com/y2g8d/star-wars-battlefront-coming-this-november-according-to-leak Fri, 17 Apr 2015 08:33:01 -0400 Elijah Beahm

It's less than two hours now until Star Wars: Battlefront's first main trailer will be revealed. We've been given tantalizing hints and rumors, wondering just how far a departure the series reboot will be from Pandemic's original two games. Soon we'll know, but until then, gamers can now rest easy knowing that their next Star Wars gaming experience is coming a bit faster than anticipated.

According to NeoGAF user salromano noticed that in the Battlefront website source code, you can find the following line of information:

The latest news and updates for Star Wars™ Battlefront. Available November 17, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

If true, this confirms that Battlefront will not be coming to PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, and will be next-gen exclusive. It also means that a Black Friday and/or Christmas bundle of the game is incredibly likely. We've also seen some new art, which looks an awful lot like the cover art for the game. It depicts a soldier standing up against an oncoming AT-AT (pictured below).

The most curious aspect of the art is the locale. It seems to indicate a Mustafar setting, yet features a Rebel Snow Speeder and AT-ATs, like out of the Hoth battle. Whether this is just an artistic decision or a hint to something more is unclear, but perhaps today's trailer will address this potentially intriguing twist.

How do you feel about a new Star Wars: Battlefront finally on the horizon? Are you excited to take to the skies in an X-Wing or fight on foot in the trenches? Let us know in the comments below!

Mobile Game Final Fantasy Record Keeper Hits 1 Million Downloads https://www.gameskinny.com/ojqkw/mobile-game-final-fantasy-record-keeper-hits-1-million-downloads https://www.gameskinny.com/ojqkw/mobile-game-final-fantasy-record-keeper-hits-1-million-downloads Thu, 09 Apr 2015 22:43:41 -0400 Ryan Mayle

It seems that quite a large number of people are liking Square Enix's latest mobile game Final Fantasy Record Keeper. Today Square Enix has announced their new game has been downloaded over 1 million times. Pretty impressive considering the game has only been out for two weeks.

To celebrate the occasion, they plan to give out 1 free mithril (an in-game currency) every day from April 11th to April 16th. This gives players a chance to stock up to try for some new gear.

If you haven't had the opportunity to try Final Fantasy Record Keeper, I highly recommend it. The entire game is based around going back through different iterations of the Final Fantasy series and sort of re-creating classic fights. There is a standard free-to-play style stamina system that will block you if you play too much in one sitting, but I have yet to run into that problem or any situation where I felt like I had to pay money to get anywhere in the game. This game is definitely worth checking out if you haven't yet.

RIFT is Celebrating PC Gaming with a Return to Steam https://www.gameskinny.com/1ee6l/rift-is-celebrating-pc-gaming-with-a-return-to-steam https://www.gameskinny.com/1ee6l/rift-is-celebrating-pc-gaming-with-a-return-to-steam Sat, 26 Oct 2013 16:30:10 -0400 Mary Yeager

Not only is RIFT celebrating with the Autumn Harvest event, RIFT is also celebrating PC Gaming this week. RIFT is once again available on Steam for downloading and purchasing, allowing Steam users to run the game from there. If you ask why I mentioned purchasing when its a free to play game, there are three DLC (downloadable content) that Steam users can purchase:

  • RIFT Ascended Edition for $19.99
  • RIFT Patron Edition for $39.99
  • RIFT Ultimate Hardcore Patron Edition for $99.99.

These editions can be purchased separately or together for $159.97. Each edition offers the player extra stuff, such as mounts and patron status. These are helpful if the player is new to the game, or played for a while but missed some of the collector's items.

RIFT Ascended Edition

The RIFT Ascended Edition is almost the same as the original collector's edition they sold when they first launched the game in 2011. Along with a 15-day Patron pass and 500 credits to spend in the RIFT store, players will also get:

  • Tartagon Mount (a two-headed large tortoise)
  • 24-slot bag
  • Bogling Wastrel Companion Pet
RIFT Patron Edition

The RIFT Patron Edition packs a bit more of a punch than the Ascended Edition. This includes the three items included in the Ascended Edition and adds more. The amount of credits received with this purchase totals to 2250 and the Patron pass is a 30-day pass. Other items included are:

  • Spindrel mount (a large spider)
  • Cyclone mount (hovering mount from the Plane of Air)
  • Mini-Regulos Companion Pet
  • Personal Banker
  • Portable Teleporter
  • Faction Tabards
RIFT Ultimate Hardcore Patron Edition

This edition provides it all plus more. For players serious about getting more bang for their buck, this edition includes everything listed in patron edition with an increase of RIFT credits to 8500 and the patron pass to a 60-day pass. More items are also added:

  • Armored White Tiger Mount
  • Ghost, the White Hellbug Mount
  • Votan Fragger Weapon Transmog (a weapon skin)
How Does a Celebration Tie In to This?

The celebration of Trion's PC Gaming Week began Friday, October 25th, and will last until Friday, November 1st. One thing that all players can enjoy is that there is a 20% boost for all players. This boost will cover:

  • Player XP
  • Planar Attunement XP
  • Guild XP
  • Favor
  • Prestige
  • Dungeon Currency
  • Planarite
  • and Zone Event Currency.

This bonus is even stackable with bonus potions a user may have. They are also selling a 160% XP bonus potion in the RIFT store. Other items available during this time in the store include Raid 1 Rings.

A new lockbox has also been added to the game called Regulos's Trove. Players get a chance to get Raid 1 Accessories, a black squirrel mount, or another box to try to get more rare gear.

Trion Worlds is on a roll with bringing new items and content to the game since they've gone free to play. Be sure to log on and grab your extra XP bonuses!
