Taco Bell Xbox 360

\n

Bummed out about the long-reigning Xbox 360 officially leaving production? Missing all those cheesy gordita crunch and Mountain Dew-fueled nights with your best gamer bud?

\n

For that friend of yours who freaking adores all things Taco Bell and is an Xbox fanatic, well, you can't get a better gift than this console literally bearing the bell itself... if you can find one.

\n

Good luck getting it though, as there's only a handful in existence handed out as part of a Canadian promotion and they very, very rarely go for sale online. As it turns out, there are some things even money can't buy!

I'm sitting here imagining this friend I know who is all about Halo opening a box containing this life-size, multi-piece cosplay of Master Chief, and I can just picture the absurd grin and hysterical happiness that would ensue.

There's just something about these old consoles that can't be matched by modern gaming, with a whole generation of gems now forgotten by the gamers of today.

Saint's Row 4 Super Dangerous Wad Wad Edition

\n

OK, I love Saints Row 4. I mean seriously, I LOVE it. I've dubstepped a gazillion aliens. I saved Christmas with the Saints and killed that evil Santa Claus. I've done horrible, terrible things to destabilize the simulation that no sane person should ever consider.

\n

But never would I be deranged enough to go for the Super Dangerous Wad Wad Edition. Only one is available and it will cost you precisely $1 million dollars.

\n

You also have to contact Deep Silver directly, as presumably PayPal isn't going to be cool with that sort of transaction. But hey, you get a Prius, some elective plastic surgery, and a “spy training day" along with a copy of this amazing game.

\n

For those with less disposable income, there was also the Super Dangerous Wub Wub Edition for a mere $100, which does comes with a rad dubstep gun replica.

Starcraft's Kerrigan Ploystone Statue

\n

We close out the list with another Blizzard-themed statue, this one of the lovely Kerrigan. At 25 inches tall, this would normally cost $380, but since it's sold out on the Sideshow website, the only place to find it is Amazon for $850.

\n

Blizzard's merchandise is always high quality, but this is on another level. Kerrigan has never looked so good. This reminds me of the Diablo statue from my last list, but for some reason I prefer this collectible.

\n

Either way, both pieces would be awesome to own, just not for $850.

Bioshock's Big Daddy Rosie - Exclusive Edition Statue

\n

This is a brand new statue and comes in two editions. The special edition comes with LED lights in the head that change different colors. Any guesses for how much it might cost? If you guessed $650, you'd be right.

\n

Honestly, I'm not the biggest Bioshock fan, but my favorite parts always included the Big Daddy's. Seeing them in statue form is just as satisfying, and the Little Sister hiding behind him only adds to the atmosphere of the piece.

Gaming Heads has this statue available for preorder right now and are expected to be shipped sometime near the end of the year.

Arkham Knight's Harley Quinn Polystone Statue

\n

This is my personal favorite on the entire list. If I had to pick one statue to own, it'd be this one. The downside is that the statue costs $930. Yea, you read that right, $930. That is one of the most outrageous prices I've seen so far, but the quality is top notch so I can't argue for a cheaper price.

I love Star Wars, so when I saw a Darth Malgus statue with a glowing lightsaber I knew I had to have it. But I don't, so I'll settle for including it on my list.

Elder Scrolls Nightingale Statue

\n

The Elder Scrolls actually has quite a few different statues to choose from. A Nord, High Elf, and Daedric Armor are a few of them, but the best of the bunch is the Nightingale collectible.

The Nightingale statue is 16 inches tall and will run you $300. I felt that it was the most detailed and interesting looking of the bunch, so I had to go with it. The detail in the chest piece is was what really pulled me in though. What do you guys think? Do you think one of the other statues is better?

Resident Evil Axeman Statue

This statue was pointed out to me by readers of my last list' and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to include it. Created by Hollywood Collectibles Group, this piece is no longer available on their store. You can get it from Amazon, however...for $795. It stands 15 inches tall and is hand painted in intricate detail.

I like this one because the attention to the little details make a big difference. The blood and rust on his axe give the piece a bit of personality, and the blood on the sack covering his face is extremely well done.

Bloodborne's Hunter Puddle of Blood Statue

This piece is 16 inches tall and will run you $315. The Bloodborne statue is pretty cool, though I wish the pose was a little more dynamic instead of him just kind of standing there. That said, the detail is gorgeous and if you look closely you can see blood on his legs. That 'blood' drips down and runs into the cracks in the brick below. The attention to that small little detail would make this a great piece to own.

League of Legends Ziggs Statue

\n

We start with one that isn't too bad price wise; as this one comes in at $150. It is 13 inches tall, and is really quite impressive. Riot also had a Twisted Fate statue, so I had to really debate which one I wanted to include on the list. Ziggs ended up with the win since his statue is just a bit more exciting overall.

I will say that his smile creeps me out a little. Imagine this guy staring at you in the middle of the night. You can grab this piece at the Riot store.

When last we met, we took a look at some pretty amazing statues. God of War, Zelda, Mass Effect; all of those statues were quite impressive, but there are way more where those came from.

\n

For that reason, I found myself once again looking at various collectibles, and want to share another 10 awesome gaming-themed statues. Oh, and like last time, these will most likely be way too expensive for anyone to buy, though I'd still like to get my hands on at least one of them.

Kratos On Throne (Exclusive Edition)

\n

Wow. Just wow. Look at that thing. It's incredible.

\n

We finish with the God of War himself, Kratos. This has got to be the coolest statue I've ever seen, and it's a whopping 29 inches tall. Yet another from Gaming Heads, this statue comes in two versions. The regular edition is Kratos without the God of War armor, and the exclusive (read: more expensive) version is the above picture. I think it's obvious which one is better. Unfortunately, the exclusive edition is no longer available, but the standard statue - sans armor - is still up for pre-order and will cost $480.

Goliath

\n

This product is definitely a goliath. Standing at 29 inches tall, this piece is still in pre-order and will cost you $750. For that much money, I feel like it should walk around or something -- just saying.

\n

Either way, the figure looks amazing, and I'd love to get my hands on one.

War and Ruin

\n

Darksiders was an awesome game, so it makes sense that a statue based on the game would be just as awesome. Created by State of the Art Toys, this statue lights up, similar to the Diablo statue. The detail in this piece is breathtaking, particularly War's sword, which sports quite the complicated design pattern. Unfortunately, this is one of the only ones I cannot find anywhere, and so is unavailable. Oh well.

Diablo

\n

Do I need to say anything? It's Diablo and he glows. HE GLOWS! I'm just gonna leave it at that.

\n

Price wise, this one sits at $350 on Sideshow but is sold out and can instead be found on Amazon for $720 or $999.

"},{"image":"http://images.gameskinny.com/gameskinnyop/b/5/1/b51cb5faefe784aff172709bb8ee2705.jpg","thumb":"http://images.gameskinny.com/gameskinnyop/b/5/1/tiny_b51cb5faefe784aff172709bb8ee2705.jpg","type":"slide","id":"100271","description":"

Raiden

\n

I love this statue. This piece was perfectly crafted by Gecco, a Japanese company. This one is special in that it also comes with some interchangeable parts, something most of the others on this list don't do. It comes with a red visor to go over Raiden's face, as well as a red sword and the sword sheath to place in his other hand.

\n

Another plus is that it seems to be the most reasonably priced on this list, listed at $219. In fact, I might buy it right now...I'll be right back.

Tali'Zorah vas Normandy

\n

Another one from Gaming Heads, Tali was an easy choice since she is one of the best characters in the Mass Effect series. This statue boasts amazing detail, especially in the hood of Tali's suit.

\n

If Tali isn't quite your cup of tea, you can always check out Garrus and Liara as well. They are equally well-crafted. But who cares about them, right? I think we can all agree that Tali is the best.

\n

Right now, Tali is still up for pre-order and you can nab her for $330, or the exclusive version for $340.

The Clicker

\n

These guys give me nightmares, so of course I'd love to have one in my house. Made by Gaming Heads, the clicker stands at 19 inches tall and is one of the grossest looking collectibles out there. But the details are so well done that you can't help but want it.

\n

They're still up for pre-order at $350, if you'd like to get one.

Edward Kenway Resin Statue

\n

McFarlane Toys is responsible for this 14-inch, $400 beauty, which shows the notorious pirate Edward Kenway enjoying a lovely jaunt down a beach. This is one of my personal favorites, purely because of the attention to detail. Kenway's costume is one of the more complicated designs of the Assassin's Creed universe, so to see it rendered with such accuracy and care makes this one of the best I've ever seen.

Link on Epona

\n

Created by First 4 Figures, this statue stands 17 inches tall. This one is cool because who doesn't like Zelda? I mean Link...of course I meant Link. This particular statue is based on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and also comes in an exclusive faux bronze finish that honestly looks kinda ugly. In case you were wondering (and if you weren't I'll tell you anyway) that exclusive version is selling for over $2,500 on Amazon. Sheesh.

Nathan Drake Premium Format Figure

\n

We start with Uncharted's Nathan Drake. Created by Sideshow Collectibles, this statue is just pure awesome. Sitting at 16.5 inches tall, the attention to detail on this piece is incredible.

\n

What really stands out to me, though, is the way they created such realistic looking clothing. Not to mention they got Nathan's face one hundred percent right, something that is more difficult than you'd think. As for price, this one is $350 from Sideshow, but since it's sold out there you can go to Amazon and find it for...wait for it...$550.

\n

I personally wonder where Drake is running off to, though I suspect it's to break up with Elena again.

If you're like me, you've always wanted to start your own collection of comic/game/movie memorabilia. And if you're like me, you can't afford it because those statues cost hundreds of dollars and your firstborn child.

\n

That doesn't mean we can't dream though! We can still look at these beautiful pieces of art and hope that someday we'll be able to buy one of them...but just one since they're so damn expensive. Either way, here are 10 of the coolest gaming-related statues that are out there.

Grand Theft Auto V Is the Most Expensive Game Ever Made https://www.gameskinny.com/e02xp/grand-theft-auto-v-is-the-most-expensive-game-ever-made https://www.gameskinny.com/e02xp/grand-theft-auto-v-is-the-most-expensive-game-ever-made Mon, 16 Sep 2013 00:08:30 -0400 Stephanie Tang

Grand Theft Auto has been a staple title ever since the late 90s; it is at once one of the most infamous and yet universally acclaimed video game franchises to date. With 10 games and 4 expansion packs, plus Grand Theft Auto V set to explode on the big screen in two days, there is no stopping Rockstar Games' major powerhouse.

GTA V takes the story back to the fictional state of San Andreas in the city of Los Santos (that is, modern-day Los Angeles in Southern California with a twist). It is set to be the biggest open world GTA game to date and features three playable characters. With the ability to conduct high-octane activities from bank heists and skydiving to run-of-the-mill stock trading and yoga, the open world of GTA V is set to redefine the parameters of video gaming.

It is developed by Rockstar North, a studio based in Edinburgh's Greenside Row and features a satirical Scotsman's view of life in America. According to Brian Baglow, who worked as a writer for the first GTA game and now runs the Scottish Games Network (an umbrella body for the nation's game sector:

“By any sort of commercial scale, Grand Theft Auto is easily Scotland’s largest cultural export ever. The series has sold something like 135 million copies so far. It’s coming up to 17 years since GTA began and it’s become something I don’t think anyone involved with the original game would have expected.

“The series has come on not just in leaps and bounds, but in long jumps since then. It’s become far more than the sum of its parts, it’s a fully global phenomenon. This is the fifth major release, and the nice thing is that all of them have been made here in Scotland.”

Five years in the making, the game's development and marketing budget is £170 million - the equivalent of a blockbuster film.

But that's just fine with Rockstar; with expectations by industry experts that are set to rewrite the record books, that's nothing compared to what they'd be getting back if all things go as planned. 25 million copies are expected sell in the first year alone which would achieve sales of £1 billion.

And they aren't the only ones that are confident in GTA V's success. Shares in Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar's parent firm) have nearly doubled in value in the past year.

Which isn't surprising considering the work that's gone into this game.

Rockstar North's staff is 300 strong, and was put to work analyzing census data, vehicle sales records and hundreds of thousands of photographs to depict Los Angeles and its environs. They shipped out Aaron Garbut, University of Dundee graduate and series art director, to California several times to consult off-duty police officers and architectural historians to create a bustling alternate reality. According to him:

“I think, most of all, what we’ve done is create a world that you can lose yourself in. A place that’s interesting and fun to live in. I’ve effectively lived more in the game world than I have in Edinburgh over the past several years as we’ve filled it out.”

And while the filthy ESRB ratings spoilers and the sporadic leaks of gameplay and music have gotten people talking, Baglow believes that the GTA franchise has really become a cornerstone of modern entertainment:

“For many people in power globally, GTA is just a great big red flashing light because it’s perceived as something bad and violent, defined by tabloid hysteria,” he said. “But if the series was just about gratuitous violence, it would not have achieved the sales and success it has.

“It is a massive cultural and creative success. It’s arguably bigger than the next Star Wars film, and the games industry has been behind GTA from the get-go. I’d really like to see the UK government acknowledge the fact one of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world was made here.”

And while it is all about a fictional America, GTA V's Scottish roots will continue to show up in the game: an in-game stock exchange is named Bawsaq and one of the vast bridges in the game is a replica of the Forth Road Bridge.

As Baglow says:

“We can sometimes have a schizophrenic idea about culture in Scotland. There’s an idea that because GTA is set in contemporary America, it has nothing to do with this country. On the other hand, we are critical of things dripping with tartan, shortbread and wee Scottie dogs.

“This isn’t something exclusive to video games, it’s the entire cultural sector. Until we feel confident enough to go out and achieve a big product which happens to have been made in Scotland, but isn’t necessarily Scottish, I think we will keep running into problems.”

Console gamers will be able to get their hands on a copy of GTA V on September 17 when it will be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360. A PC release is expected but has not yet been announced.

Next-Gen Games to be Sold at $70... Again https://www.gameskinny.com/c3z96/next-gen-games-to-be-sold-at-70-again https://www.gameskinny.com/c3z96/next-gen-games-to-be-sold-at-70-again Fri, 15 Mar 2013 00:36:26 -0400 KonradGamez

Are you kidding me?

Microsoft and Sony, I sometimes hate you.

Okay so I read this article at IGN.com and basically when the next PS4 and Xbox 720 come out, the games are going to go back to the $69.99 prices. This is, pardon the swearing, bullshit. I mean as someone who has spent hundreds of dollars over the years on games and consoles... this feels like Sony and Microsoft are spitting in my face.

Let's be honest...

Will this price increase prevent us from going out and buying the games? Hell no. Us gamers always find a way to play, it just means that Bonnie and Clyde over here will be getting larger shares of the loot. Sales may go down a bit, but not so significantly as to where Sony and Microsoft will lose more money than they are making now.

In Closing

Does it piss me off that games will go back to their old prices? Hell yeah.

Am I going to do anything about it? Well, besides complaining about it every once and a while and besides writing this article... no.
