Fleece is one of the earlier Weaver materials in FFXIV. You'll need to manually farm for it, and you'll need a large amount of it, too. If you're here, you're wondering how to get it.

There are two primary methods of obtaining Fleece in Final Fantasy XIV, though there are some levequests that grant it as well. In this guide, we'll go over how to acquire the material, as well as highlight where to pick up the most efficient levequests that have a chance of rewarding it.

How to Farm Fleece in FFXIV

Farm Karakuls for Fleece

This is the fastest and most reliable way to get Fleece, and it's very easy as long as you're not within the level range for the Ornery Karakuls you need to farm.

The map below shows where Ornery Karakuls spawn, which drop at a reasonable rate per kill. Not all farming spots are equal, however! The Ornery Karakuls just south of Camp Dragonhead and east of the camp to the south have the highest drop rate of these cute little nuisances.

The traveling distance is a bit much to viably add the southern-most spawns to an efficient farming route, but going around Camp Dragonhead itself is pretty quick, even with the other Ornery Karakul spawns not having as high of a drop chance.

Focus on the spawns around Camp Dragonhead for your fastest farm, with the biggest emphasis on the ones just to the south. It should only take you a few rounds of flying around the vicinity to get your route down.

Gardening for Fleece

Gardening can only be done by those with personal housing plots or players in an FC with a house, who have gardening permissions.

How do you get Fleece from gardening? By growing and exchanging Voidrake.

Voidrake Seeds are sold by NPCs called Resident Caretakers, who are found in housing districts. A single bag of Voidrake Seeds costs 300 Company Credits, which are a currency tied to your FC.

It takes 24 hours to grow Voidrake, and you'll want to use Grade 3 Shroud Topsoil to increase your yields.

Once grown, you'll want to seek out another vendor NPC in your housing district: the Material Supplier. These don't tend to be far from the Resident Caretakers, though they are easy enough to miss.

You can exchange one Voidrake for five Fleece under the Curious Crop Exchange option, which is by no means shabby.

Levequests for Fleece

Depending on your luck, this could be the fastest way to get Fleece. But it could also be the slowest.

The Level 45 Weaver levequests in Mor Dhona, down in Saint Coinach's Find to the east, have a chance of granting 16 Fleece per turn-in. The downside is that there's no guarantee they'll offer it as a reward, and you'll need to either craft or buy the requisite items for the turn-ins. It's not the best option, but you may get lucky and have the funds to go this route. Though it may just be cheaper to buy it than bother with this option.

That's all you really need to know about getting Fleece in FFXIV: Endwalker, a weaving material more cumbersome to get than most. The fact it's used in the crafting of Skybuilders' Cloth for Firmament collectable turn-ins is probably the actual biggest driver of sales, and very well may be what's got you looking for it. FFXIV Endwalker: How to Get the Chewy Minion https://www.gameskinny.com/8nj0g/ffxiv-endwalker-how-to-get-the-chewy-minion https://www.gameskinny.com/8nj0g/ffxiv-endwalker-how-to-get-the-chewy-minion Thu, 14 Apr 2022 18:38:15 -0400 Ashley Shankle

The new Chewy minion in FFXIV is cute as a button. Who wouldn't want a little black and white Pomeranian to follow them around? Actually getting Chewie minion is about as annoying as you might expect, though. It's too cute to be easy.

How to Get the Chewy Minion in FFXIV

If you've looked at your server's Market Board and noticed that there are pretty much no Chewy minions listed or that there are a few at ridiculous prices, you know you're in for a time to get this little bundle of fluffy joy.

At the time of writing, there is only one confirmed way to get your hands on Chewy minion in Final Fantasy XIV: retainer ventures. Not just any retainer ventures, but Level 90 Botanist exploration ventures, specifically Woodland Exploration XXVIII.

Level 90 Botanist exploration ventures are the only confirmed way to get the Chewy minion for now, as full-fledged exploration ventures take 18 hours to complete. Which is exactly why Chewy minion is selling for 15 million gil on Balmung (oof).

Of course, you'll need to have Botanist to Level 90 yourself, as well as have leveled a retainer to that point to even send them out on these ventures. Newer players probably are not able to, but those that can send their retainers out on Woodland Exploration XXVIII absolutely should to try to get their hands on Chewy for their personal collection or to rake in a hefty chunk of change.

There are some rumors that maxed out submarine expeditions also have a chance to grant Chewy minion, but this is unconfirmed and incredibly difficult to confirm in the patch's infancy due to the amount of time expeditions take.

That's really all you need to know about how to get the Chewy minion in FFXIV. Feel free to toss a comment down below if you know any other confirmed (and not rumored) methods for getting Chewy, and check out our other Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker guides here on GameSkinny.

FFXIV Valentoine's Better Letters Answers Guide https://www.gameskinny.com/l0sgf/ffxiv-valentoines-better-letters-answers-guide https://www.gameskinny.com/l0sgf/ffxiv-valentoines-better-letters-answers-guide Tue, 08 Feb 2022 12:23:24 -0500 Ashley Shankle

It's time for the Valentoine's Day event in Final Fantasy XIV, this time with a piece of furniture and a fancy Postmoogle chocobo barding up for grabs rather than a glamour set or piece. The Better Letters repeatable quest is a totally optional portion of the event that doesn't grant any meaningful rewards, but some players might prefer to see the ideal outcomes of each scenario presented in Better Letters.

Just to note, Better Letters is totally optional because the Prismatic Heart (Left) and Prismatic Heart (Right) are both available for sale at the House Valentoine Maid NPC right outside of the amphitheatre. She also sells the event-exclusive Valentoine Mobile, which may or may not find its way on basically every one of FFXIV's RP and event venue's walls from now to the end of the month.

FFXIV Better Letters Answers

You can start Better Letters by talking to Pukty Piko once you've finished the main event quest No Love Lost, which requires you be at least level 15 to initiate.

Once you complete No Love Lost, talk to Pukty Piko and you'll be presented with five different scenarios of people needing to write letters for one reason or another.

You're tasked with helping them write their letters, and have to make two choices per letter writing scenario. There is only one good ending each, though you'll still receive 10 Prismatic Heart (Left) and 10 Prismatic Heart (Right) regardless of your choices.

Below are all five scenarios and their correct answers:

  • The emissary of penned passions.
    • Keep it simple and straightforward.
    • Forthrightly!
  • The nameless adventurer.
    • Show contrition and gratitude in equal measure.
    • That failure is a novice's best learning tool.
  • The winsome Padjal.
    • Show that you're serious by observing proper letter-writing etiquette.
    • It should be from both her and her brother.
  • The one who dreams of the wider world.
    • Thank him for all his encouragement.
    • Support him in his endeavors as he supports you in yours.
  • The one redolent of boughs.
    • To my beautiful branch, Feo Ul!
    • Attach flowers and chocolate to your letter.

With these answers, you'll get all the best outcomes in the Better Letters quest. Though again, you do not have to do it at all if you don't want as the Prismatic Hearts are available via an event NPC as well. At least the Postmoogle Barding is absolutely adorable! FFXIV All Saints Wake 2022 Walkthrough https://www.gameskinny.com/10lqe/ffxiv-all-saints-wake-2022-walkthrough https://www.gameskinny.com/10lqe/ffxiv-all-saints-wake-2022-walkthrough Fri, 21 Jan 2022 06:27:53 -0500 Ashley Shankle

It's been a long while, but All Saints' Wake is finally back in Final Fantasy XIV and with it comes a unique clown glamour outfit that more than a few Eorzeans might like to add to their glamour dresser.

This All Saints' Wake event offers FFXIV players the clown outfit, unique face paint, as well as two unique furniture pieces that will surely be useful come October.

FFXIV: All Saints' Wake 2022 Walkthrough

To start the All Saints' Wake event and get the quest "All Clowns' Wake", you'll need to head to Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre in Gridania and speak with the Adventurers' Guild Investigator, who is not far from the Aetheryte and found at the coordinates 10.4,8.4.

He'll get you started, and you'll need to enter a special instance to continue to event: the Phantom's Feast.

Through the Phantom's Feast, you and three others will form a light party to save souls and.. well, you yourself do feast, too. You'll have two abilities you can use through the course of the instance.

The first allows you to banish wraiths directly in front of you and the second saves captured souls throughout the Phantom's Feast.

Progressing through FFXIV's Phantom's Feast is easy enough and I'll digress with spoilers, but I will give a tip for each "boss" engagement:

  1. You need to walk through the pumpkins in the first engagement, as you would when picking up medals in the Leap of Faith GATE in the Gold Saucer.
  2. Exquisite Dishes take much longer to eat than the others in the second engagement, and provide more points.
  3. Try to banish multiple wraiths at a time in the third engagement, and just accept you'll be running around without charges for a bit.

Completing the Phantom's Feast grants six Pumpkin Cookies, and completing the initial quest grants you a single Pumpkin Cookie for a total of seven to start.

To get all of the clown outfit (which is adorable, by the way), you'll need a total of 12 Pumpkin Cookies. You can exchange them with the terribly dressed Shady Smock by the amphitheatre stage for pieces of the outfit as well as the two furniture pieces and Magicked Prism (Pumpkin), which are best purchased with leftovers.

Once you complete the event quest, you can talk to the Harlequin Guide on the amphitheatre stage to enter the Phantom's Feast again to get the remaining six Pumpkin Cookies for the entire outfit.

If you want to get the furniture as well, you'll have to do the Phantom's Feast a third time to wrap it all up. And of course, if you want a bunch of Magicked Prism (Pumpkin), you'll have to do it a whole lot since you only get 10 Magicked Prism (Pumpkin) per Pumpkin Cookie.

FFXIV: How to Get Kumbhira Skin Leather https://www.gameskinny.com/ibckb/ffxiv-how-to-get-kumbhira-skin-leather https://www.gameskinny.com/ibckb/ffxiv-how-to-get-kumbhira-skin-leather Tue, 21 Dec 2021 12:35:46 -0500 Hayes Madsen

Kumbhira Skin and Kumbhira Leather are some of the new crafting materials introduced in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. Like most materials, if you don't know how to get it you might have a bit of a struggle, but luckily that's what we're here to help with. Here's everything you need to know.

How to Get Kumbhira Skin Leather in Final Fantasy XIV

In order to craft Khumbira Leather, you'll first need to get your hands on the skin. Kumbhira Skin drops from a crocodile-like monster of the same name, which is found in Thavnair in The Shroud of Samgha area around (X:29.7-Y:25).

Keep in mind that each Kumbhira you kill only has a chance of dropping Khumbira Skin, it isn't guaranteed. That's why there are two other methods to utilize.

The easiest method, by far, is heading to the Market Board and simply searching for Kumbhira Skin. Of course, you can also skip the skin and just buy Khumbira Leather. Both already have a ton of players selling it on the board.

If you don't want to spend the gil, however, you can use Bicolor Gemstones to purchase Khumbira Skin from the Gemstone Trader in Thavnair near Yedlihmad aetheryte at  (X:25.8, Y:34.7). Each one will cost two Bicolor Gemstones, and you can earn them by completing FATEs.

Now if you want to craft Kumbhira Leather, you'll need to have four Khumbira Skin, eight Earth Crystals, and one Eblan Alumen. The Eblan Alumen can be gathered through quarrying in Garlemald around  (X:20.6, Y:28.9), or purchased from the Market Board. Just keep in mind you'll need to be a level 86 Leatherworker to make it.

FFXIV Endwalker: How to Get the Starbird Minion https://www.gameskinny.com/fv3s3/ffxiv-endwalker-how-to-get-the-starbird-minion https://www.gameskinny.com/fv3s3/ffxiv-endwalker-how-to-get-the-starbird-minion Tue, 21 Dec 2021 12:27:15 -0500 Hayes Madsen

The Starbird minion is an adorable new minion added with Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, and its design is based on an important character in the story named Meteion. If you're here, you want to know how to get it.

Unfortunately, the Starbird minion can be a bit difficult to get, so here's everything you need to know. Warning: there's a bit of a grind involved.

How to Get the Starbird Minion in Final Fantasy XIV

There's only one way to get the Starboard Minion in FFXIV, and unfortunately, it can't be purchased from the market board as it's restricted from sale.

The singular way to get it is as loot drop in the final dungeon of the Endwalker, titled "The Dead Ends." You'll unlock the dungeon at Level 90, once you've completed the second to last quest "You're Not Alone."

The chance of the Starbird Minion dropping is low, and even worse is that other players can cast their lot to get it as well. This means that you'll likely need to play The Dead Ends multiple times in order to get the chance.

If you want to bump up your chances of finding the Starbird minion, your best bet is to play through the dungeon with a Trust of NPC allies, so you can claim all of the loot. If you have three friends that will let you claim the Starbird when it drops, you can also go that route.

Now that you know how to get the Starbird Minion in Final Fantasy 14, it's just a matter of putting in the time. Make sure to head over to our FFXIV guides hub if you need more help.

FFXIV Dynamis Crystals: How to Get Them https://www.gameskinny.com/twcuw/ffxiv-dynamis-crystals-how-to-get-them https://www.gameskinny.com/twcuw/ffxiv-dynamis-crystals-how-to-get-them Fri, 17 Dec 2021 12:50:01 -0500 Hayes Madsen

Dynamis Crystals are one of the most important high-level materials in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, used in quite a few different gear sets. FFXIV crafters likely won't be able to get their hands on some until later in the expansion, but we're here to help walk you through it.

How to Get Dynamis Crystals in Final Fantasy XIV

Your primary way of getting Dynamis Crystals lies in the final zone of FFXIV: Endwalker, Ultima Thule.

Again, you won't arrive in Ultima Thule until the very tail-end of the expansion, but once you do there are two different creatures to be on the lookout for. Stellar Shelled Dragons (X:7.5, Y:21.2) and Stellar Wyverns (X:7.8, Y:18.8). There's never a guarantee that these enemies are going to drop Dynamis Crystals, so if you're getting frustrated there are two easier ways to grab them.

If you've got spare gil lying around you can check the Market Board and search Dynamis Crystals. There's already a fair amount of listings in-game, but you'll need the gil to spend.

The other alternative is to use Bicolor Gemstones at the Gemstone Trader. In Ultima Thule, the Gemstone Trader is named N-1499 and can be found at (X:30.9, Y:28.0). Each Dynamis Crystal will cost two Bicolor Gemstones, and you can earn more by completing FATEs on any map.

As you can see, you have plenty of options for grabbing some Dynamis Crystals. Make sure to check our FFXIV guides hub for even more.

FFXIV Ophiotauros Hide: How to Get It https://www.gameskinny.com/vhzx4/ffxiv-ophiotauros-hide-how-to-get-it https://www.gameskinny.com/vhzx4/ffxiv-ophiotauros-hide-how-to-get-it Thu, 16 Dec 2021 12:04:40 -0500 Hayes Madsen

Ophiotauros Hide is used to make Ophiotauros Leather in FFXIV: Endwalker, a primary component in a number of Leatherworking and other crafting endeavors. In this guide we will go over how to get Ohiotauros Hide so you can get started making that level 88 through 90 gear.

How to Get Ophiotauros Hide in FFXIV

Farming Ophiotauros themselves are the fastest and most obvious way to get your hands on Ohiotauros Hide without having to spend any gil. These mobs are found in Elpis, near the end of Endwalker.

Ophiotauros are found in the Northwestern part of Elpis at the Ethoseletikos Boreas, around the coordinates (14.8,8.2). Ophiotauros Hide is not a guaranteed drop off these mobs, so you will likely have to kill many to get what you need. Be aware other players will likely be farming them too as this is the start of the expansion.

If you don't want to farm Ophiotauros directly, whether just because it sounds tedious or other players are hogging their spawns, you can instead trade them for Bicolor Gemstones.

It costs two Bicolor Gemstones for one Ophiotauros Hide, and you can get them from both FFXIV: Shadobringers and Endwalker FATEs. You can trade your Bicolors at one of the Gemstone Traders at Labyrinthos, Radz-at-Han, and Old Sharlayan.

You can, of course, choose to just buy Ophiotauros Hide or even Ophiotauros Leather off the Market Board but the cost will be steep so early in the expansion. It's best to farm these babies yourself, either through grinding Ophiotauros themselves or going the Bicolor Gemstone route.

FFXIV Berkanan Sap: How to Get It https://www.gameskinny.com/q179i/ffxiv-berkanan-sap-how-to-get-it https://www.gameskinny.com/q179i/ffxiv-berkanan-sap-how-to-get-it Thu, 16 Dec 2021 08:56:52 -0500 Hayes Madsen

Berkanan Sap is one of many new crafting ingredients added to Final Fantasy XIV with the Endwalker release. Used in a number of Alchemy recipes, such as Grade 5 Tinctures and the Ascorbic Additive and Rarefield Draught Collectibles, crafters looking to seed their endgame static or Free Company will need to get used to the process of obtaining this material.

How to Get Berkanan Sap in Final Fantasy XIV

Berkanan Sap comes from an enemy of the same name, Berkanan, found in the fields of Labyrinthos after arriving in Old Sharlayan.

Berkanans can be found around the coordinates (X:6.8,Y:21.0), which is closest to the Aporia Aetheryte. The drop isn't guaranteed, but you can farm them this way.

You can also get Berkanan Sap by trading in Bicolor Gemstones at the Gemstone Traders in Labyrinthos, Radz-at-Han, and Old Sharlayan. It costs two Bicolor Gemstones for one Bernanan Sap. They're obtained by grinding on FATEs in Shadowbringers and Endwalker areas.

There's one final way of earning Berkanan Sap, and that's through Levequests in Old Sharlayan. Talk to Ahldiyrn (X:12.3, Y:13.4) and take on the quests "Technically Still Magic" and "Mindful." Completing these will reward you with Berkanan Sap. This is by far the least efficient method and is not recommended if you do need to actually farm Berkanan Sap.

If all else fails and you've got deep pockets, you can buy Berkanan Sap off the Market Board. Though the sap will likely be expensive for some time thanks to its use in Grade 5 Tinctures, which endgame raiders drink like water.

FFXIV Endwalker Level Checker Mount: How to Get It https://www.gameskinny.com/jd4ck/ffxiv-endwalker-level-checker-mount-how-to-get-it https://www.gameskinny.com/jd4ck/ffxiv-endwalker-level-checker-mount-how-to-get-it Wed, 15 Dec 2021 07:28:39 -0500 Ashley Shankle

FFXIV's Level Checker mount is currently one of the most difficult to get in Endwalker. Players have been familiar with the Level Checker for some time thanks to the Stormblood Omega raid series, but the little cad hasn't been made available as a mount until now.

So what makes getting the Level Checker mount in Final Fantasy XIV so difficult? It requires you to clear a particularly rare and difficult FATE twice, and getting that FATE to spawn requires effort and patience in itself.

That FATE's name? Omicron Recall: Killing Order, which is level 90 and requires you to be able to fly in an endgame area. Minor spoilers ahead.

How to Get the Level Checker Mount in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker

The two FATES you must clear to spawn Omicron Recall: Killing Order are located in Ultima Thule, an area you don't reach until near the end of the FFXIV: Endwalker MSQ.

The two FATEs you need to clear to make Omicron Recall: Killing Order spawn have Omicron Recall in their name, and they must be manually initiated at Base Omicron by speaking to N-0265.

There are some things to know about this FATE:

  • Omicron Recall: Killing order can only spawn at least once every 48 hours. Join a FATE train Discord server or use a FATE tracker to keep track of its last spawn and be ready to mobilize once the timer is up. You can also check Party Finder or put your own Party Finder listing up to form a party.

  • You will need to slay the Notorious Monster in this FATE, Chi, at least twice to get the Level Checker mount.
    • You must trade 12 Chi Bolts to get the Level Checker mount.
    • A gold clear on Omicron Recall: Killing Order grants six Chi Bolts.
  • This fight is no joke and requires more than a Light or even Full Party. You will need all the help you can get, do not be shy about joining a 24 person alliance to get it done. Do not be a lone wolf, you will probably die to mechanics.

  • Once you get all 12 Chi Bolts, you can trade them for a Level Checker Identification Key at (10.6,10.1) in Radz-at-Han with an NPC named Nesvaaz (Out-of-this-world Oddities).

All of this sounds easier than it actually is to get FFXIV's Level Checker mount, as the 48-hour timer and the fight itself are considerable barriers. Now is the time to get it, though, as more players are going to be open to the effort than later in the expansion.

FFXIV Endwalker: Tower of Zot Guide https://www.gameskinny.com/wska3/ffxiv-endwalker-tower-of-zot-guide https://www.gameskinny.com/wska3/ffxiv-endwalker-tower-of-zot-guide Fri, 10 Dec 2021 12:11:22 -0500 Hayes Madsen

Tower of Zot is the first dungeon in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker and has plenty of surprises for those of us who have gotten tired grinding on Matoya's Relict and Phlegethon over these past few months. Read on to learn how to take on the fearsome Magus Sisters and best the Tower of Zot.

FFXIV Endwalker Tower of Zot Walkthrough

The good news is that Tower of Zot doesn't really have any unique gimmicks or challenging mobs outside of the boss battles. You can simply continue like normal, with the tank pulling as much or as little as they want.

The boss battles are where things really get tricky, however. The first two have you going up against a single Magus Sister, with the final battle pitting you against all three.

Make sure to take note of the attacks and patterns of the first two battles, as they'll be appearing again in the last one. A few minutes into the tower you'll run into the small red sister, Minduruva.

Minduruva can be a wake-up call with its difficulty, but as long as the party is paying attention it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Here's an overview of the boss' attacks to start with.

  • Manusya Bio - Tankbuster attack that also inflicts poison. If you're healing the poison should be removed ASAP.

  • Manusya Blizzard III - Boss fires blizzard attacks in twelve cones from the center of the room. You need to stand in the gaps to dodge.

  • Manusya Fire III - Large donut AoE. Avoid by standing next to boss in the safe zone.

  • Manusya Thunder III - Boss fire multiple AoEs that move across the room and along the edge. You'll need to move away from the boss and dodge.

  • Manusya Bio III - Boss uses a massive AoE that covers the entire stage in front of it. You need to move to the unmarked side behind it to avoid the attack.

  • Dhrupad - Applies a damage-over-time debuff to all non-tank players, used after each Transmute spell (explained below).

On top of all these attacks, the boss has two different variations it can use as well. Occasionally, the boss will use a single-target version that's unavoidable, so you'll need to buff and heal through it.

Finally, Minduruva will throw out Transmute orbs, which will then fire the above spells from that location. The first transmute spell is always Transmute Blizzard III, but the best way to check which attack is launching is by seeing what buffs the boss has, which will denote the attack coming.

The big problem with the Transmute spells is that the boss can use other spells on top of them, or even other Transmute spells, meaning you'll need to dodge multiple attacks at once.

Essentially you'll need to stay on the move this entire battle, and the healer should make sure to keep barriers or regen on to mitigate any damage.

Sanduruva is likely a bit easier than the first boss, as long as you know how to deal with its status effect attacks. Again, here's an overview of all of the boss' attacks.

  • Isitva Siddhi - High damage tankbuster. Need to mitigate and heal.

  • Prapti Siddhi - Boss fires a large AoE in a line straight ahead at a specific player.

  • Manusya Berserk - Boss spawns five orbs around the arena that explode in a small AoE. If a player is hit by the explosion they get the Berserk status, which makes you lose control of your character and run right up to the boss.

  • Prakamya Siddhi - AoE that damages the immediate area around the boss. Often used after Manusya Berserk to hit status-affected players.

  • Manusya Stop - Boss teleports to center of the arena and hits each player with Stop one by one. You can't heal or avoid stop, so the team should spread out to mitigate damage from the attacks launched after stop. Heal after.

  • Manusya Confuse - The boss leaps off of the arena and five copies of here come down in a circle. Four of these are actually an orb that will explode and cause Berserk. Each of the version will be performing an emote, except for the real version of the boss, who will be standing still. After finding the one standing still run behind it to the very edge of the arena, which is where the safe zone will appear.

Sanduruva typically alternates between Stop and Confuse later in the battle, but will occasionally throw in another attack.

If you know what to look for none of them are particularly difficult to dodge, so just keep chipping away at the boss' health and you'll bring her down without too much issue. Now on to the real battle.

Final Boss - The Magus Sisters

The final battle will start out with just Cinduruva, who launches one attack before the other bosses join.

  • Samsara - Unavoidable room-wide AoE that you'll need to mitigate and dodge.

Now the other two bosses join and together they use the Magus Sisters' signature move, Delta Attack. This move will be cast multiple times throughout the battle and has three different variations, which you can see below.

You'll know which move the sisters are going to use as they'll say a line beforehand that references ice, fire, or thunder.

  • Blizzard III - You'll need to dodge and weave between the AoE attacks, while also watching out for markers that signify where a massive piece of ice will fall on the field.

  • Fire III - Three different attacks; various donot AoEs will spread across the field, while Sanduruva's line AoE will also target players. On top of this, markers will tag random players for attack, so they'll need to spread out.

  • Thunder III - All three posses launch a cross-pattern of AoE attacks, and they also vary in size. Line AoE's will launch across the arena, while stack markers will also appear. When the markers appear make sure the party stacks to reduce the amount of damage.

When the Magus Sisters aren't using Delta Attacks they'll each be using their standard attacks. Make sure you heal the status effects and keep the party's health high, as Cinduruva will again use Samsara to cause unavoidable damage.

Your party should focus all of your attacks on Cinduruva, as if you kill either of the other sisters first they'll just be revived by Cinduruva.  Just keep in mind the attack patterns of Delta Attack and the normal attacks, and keep hacking away at Cinduruva.

Luckily, once she's down you won't have to worry about Delta Attack or Samsara anymore, and taking down the other two should be a piece of cake.

Now with the release of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, everyone's trying to figure out the skill changes and new rotations. Whacking on training dummies is just a part of the program for now.

Where to Find Training Dummies in Final Fantasy XIV

There are two options when it comes to training dummies: you can use the ones found out in the overworld, or you can slap dummies in housing districts, whether on your property or not.

First up we'll cover the training dummies out in the world, which is what most players will be using. You'll want to use dummies that are at your level or lower, as using ones at a higher level will up your chances of attacks missing. Here's the full list, as provided by FrogmanIsAGreatGuy on Reddit.

Level 1 Training Dummies

  • Central Shroud - The Bannock (X: 24.0, Y: 19.5) (X:23.4, Y: 20.5)

  • Middle La Noscea - Summerford Farm (X: 26.2, Y: 17.4)

  • Western Thanalan - Scorpion Crossing (X: 26.3, Y: 24.7) (X: 26.3, Y: 23.7)

  • Coerthas Central Highlands - Whitebrim Front (X: 13.1, Y: 17.1)

Level 50

  • Coerthas Western Highlands - Falcon's Nest (X: 31.5, Y: 38.7)

  • The Dravanian Forelands - Tailfeather (X: 32.7,Y: 24.7)

  • The Dravanian Hinterlands - The Collector's Quarter (X: 22.8, Y: 16.7)

Level 60

  • The Fringes - Castrum Oriens (X: 9.9, Y: 11.8)

  • Yanxia - Namai (X: 31.0, Y: 16.5)

  • The Azim Steppe - Reunion (X: 34.0, Y: 27.0)

Level 70

  • The Lochs - Porta Praetoria (X: 10.5, Y:20.5)

There are also training dummies in Stone, Sea, and Sky, a training ground that lets you practice or raids and extreme trials. Here are those locations

  • Heavensward Practice: Goodly Adventurer - The Dravanian Hinterlands (X: 18.4, Y: 11.0)

  • Stormblood Practice: Battle-scarred Veteran - The Fringes (X: 30.0, Y: 11.3)

  • The Burning Field: Endwalker - Hardy Looking Radiant - Radz-at-Han (X:12.3 Y:10.7)

Now finally if you want to place training dummies outside of your housing here's how to get them; just keep in mind you'll need a housing plot with a yard in order to do so.

The login queues for Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker are long and unkind, with players stuck in queue for hours for early access and launch week. Some players are experiencing the FFXIV login queue not moving, something that's cause for concern when it can take so long to get into the game in the first place.

The login queue not moving is an issue that has popped up throughout all of Final Fantasy XIV's most populated times, but it does not mean the queue is broken nor does it mean you're stuck there.

It appears that the login queue not moving is simply a client-side bug, or perhaps there really are that many people not logging out. The former seems more likely: once your queue position starts to tick down on your client after sitting at the same number for a long while, it does so quickly to tick you down to the place you are actually sitting at in queue.

Don't get impatient and leave the queue while the login queue is not moving. It is not stuck! Just be patient, and you'll see it start to tick down in time. Final Fantasy XIV reached its peak player numbers this past summer and Endwalker is its biggest expansion launch yet. Queue times are guaranteed to be long, at least for the first week or two.

FFXIV Endwalker AFK Kick Timer: Can You Skip It? https://www.gameskinny.com/zvstb/ffxiv-endwalker-afk-kick-timer-can-you-skip-it https://www.gameskinny.com/zvstb/ffxiv-endwalker-afk-kick-timer-can-you-skip-it Mon, 06 Dec 2021 14:35:28 -0500 Ashley Shankle

The AFK kick timer in FFXIV is meant to keep players from staying logged in while idle and allow for other players to log into the game. With the Endwalker expansion release being a massive success and player queues at their highest, plenty are wondering how to stay logged into FFXIV while the AFK kick timer is at its most vigilant.

Final Fantasy XIV: Is It Possible to Avoid the AFK Kick Timer?

Normally some players would say that there is a way to avoid it, but after the launch of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker — and probably for some time after  there is actually no way to circumvent the AFK kick timer.

If you know of the method people use under normal circumstances to get around the game kicking them out (which I am not going to state here), be aware that it currently does not work.

The game will still prompt you that you are going to be disconnected for inactivity, and does so shortly thereafter unless you interact with the game in some way.

It could be a month or two until Square Enix disables this new more strict AFK kick timer. The regular one, which was disabled through much of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, was re-implemented earlier this year due to the influx of new players.

Sorry to disappoint if you were looking to dodge the current queues by staying logged in, but this time, it seems Square Enix were prepared with the AFK kick timer, not allowing players to skip it. Check out some of our other FFXIV Endwalker guides here on GameSkinny.

FFXIV Endwalker: Is There a Fix For the Unable to Perform Version Check Error? https://www.gameskinny.com/l2pol/ffxiv-endwalker-is-there-a-fix-for-the-unable-to-perform-version-check-error https://www.gameskinny.com/l2pol/ffxiv-endwalker-is-there-a-fix-for-the-unable-to-perform-version-check-error Fri, 03 Dec 2021 22:49:10 -0500 Hayes Madsen

As with any MMO expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker has seen users run into their fair share of bugs and errors. One of the more common errors with XIV's expansions is "Unable to Perform Version Check," which tends to pop up because of the massive updates to the game. But is there a fix for the error?

If you find yourself running into the "Unable to Perform Version Check" error, this FFXIV guide has a few tips for getting around it. Though, they aren't guaranteed fixes.

How to Potentially Fix Unable to Perform Version Check Error in FFXIV Endwalker

There's one fix you'll want to try first if you run into the "Unable to Perform Version Check" error, and it seems to work for most players. Here are the steps, which you can also see in the image above.

  • Open Documents folder
  • Click on "My Games," then open Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn
  • Open the file named “FFXIV_BOOT
  • In the notepad document that opens, look for the line "BootVersionCheckMode," which will display a value of zero. Change the value to "1"

After you've done this, open the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and see if it allows you to connect to the game. Keep in mind, of course, there's a chance that this fix won't work. If you keep getting "Unable to Perform Version Check", here are a few other things to try.

  • Completely restart your PC and then try launching the game again
  • Uninstall and reinstall Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn
  • Try connecting to a different WiFi or Hotspot
  • Use a VPN to launch Final Fantasy XIV

If none of these fixes work and eliminate the version check error, you might just have to wait a while before you try launching the game again. Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is experiencing huge numbers of players with its launch, so problems are bound to go on for a least a little while

FFXIV: How to Unlock Bozjan Southern Front https://www.gameskinny.com/3kif5/ffxiv-how-to-unlock-bozjan-southern-front https://www.gameskinny.com/3kif5/ffxiv-how-to-unlock-bozjan-southern-front Fri, 03 Dec 2021 22:26:29 -0500 Hayes Madsen

The Bozjan Southern Front is a new large-scale instance introduced post-Shadowbringers in Final Fantasy XIV. It's part of the Save The Queen storyline, and it is a fantastic way to boost classes up to Level 80. It has a great storyline to boot, making it a must-experience instance. But how do you unlock it?

This FFXIV guide will tell you exactly how to do that so you can not only get closer to Level 80 but also help out the Bozjan Resistance. Here's what you need to know about unlocking the Bozjan Southern Front.

Unlocking the Bozjan Southern Front in Final Fantasy XIV

To access Bozja, you'll need to own a copy of Shadowbringers, and have completed the Main Scenario Quests up through  “Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty.” You'll also need one of your classes or characters to be Level 71 at least to participate in the instance.

Once you have all of that, head on over to Rhalgr’s Reach, where you can pick up a quest called "The Bozja Incident" from an Ironworks Engineer at (X:11.8, Y:11.8). This quest is followed by another called "Fire in the Forge," which then unlocks a new area called Gangos.

You can get to Gangos by going to the Doman Enclave, heading to the docks, and talking to the Airship pilot.

Now that you're in Gangos, you have one final step before you can head into the Bozja Southern Front. Find Marsak (X:6.4, Y:5.7) and complete the quest “Where Eagles Nest," which will finally give you access to the Bozjan Southern Front.

Talk to Sjeros, who's standing right at the docks, and choose the Bozjan Southern Front option.

This will put you into a unique instance of a massive battlefield. There are tutorial missions to walk you through the basics of Bozja, but basically, you'll be participating in FATEs and Critical Engagement across the field to raise a resource called Mettle, which will then unlock more content as you level up.

The Bozjan Southern Front is quite the time investment, but now that you're there you can chip in a few hours whenever you have time. For even more tips on the main game, and Endwalker, make sure to check out our FFXIV guides hub

FFXIV Endwalker Unable to Obtain Character Data: What Does It Mean? https://www.gameskinny.com/82yh0/ffxiv-endwalker-unable-to-obtain-character-data-what-does-it-mean https://www.gameskinny.com/82yh0/ffxiv-endwalker-unable-to-obtain-character-data-what-does-it-mean Fri, 03 Dec 2021 15:04:54 -0500 Ashley Shankle

Every single FFXIV player has run into the game telling them it is unable to obtain character data, and it's given all of us pause at one point or another. Luckily, this error is no big deal at all — even with the Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker launch.

FFXIV: What is the Unable to Obtain Character Data Error?

Unlike the 2002 error that can make it hard to login when the servers are under severe strain, the "Unable to obtain character data" error has no actual impact on your game. It also doesn't impact your ability to select a character and login.

Players may have the game tell them it is unable to obtain character data when:

  • The servers are overloaded
  • Just when their internet connection isn't all that great

They log in, click to start, get to the character selection screen with the unable to obtain character data error, and can still get into the game just fine.

This error only pertains to the game's ability to load your characters' data from the servers at that time, and it only relates to the character selection screen. You can select a character and log in just fine, even if the game tells you it is unable to obtain character data.

Meaning there's no cause for concern, unlike the "Unable to Perform Version Check" error, which is a bit more vexing.

It can be annoying to run into this, but it happens to some players so frequently it doesn't even give them pause (myself being one of them). Just click on through and don't give the unable to obtain character data error much thought.

FFXIV: How to Get Scaevan Gear & Allagan Tomestones of Poetics https://www.gameskinny.com/vydyn/ffxiv-how-to-get-scaevan-gear-allagan-tomestones-of-poetics https://www.gameskinny.com/vydyn/ffxiv-how-to-get-scaevan-gear-allagan-tomestones-of-poetics Fri, 03 Dec 2021 14:55:38 -0500 Hayes Madsen

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker has a wealth of different gear to choose from, but Scaevan gear is one of the absolute best. And you don't even need Endwalker to get it! But with Reaper and Sage introduced in the new expansion, you'll need to get your hands on even more gear since both new jobs start out at Level 70.

If you're here, you're wondering how to get your hands on Scaevan gear in FFXIV. This guide has you covered. Here's everything you need to know about it to start your Endwalker journey off right.

Where to Find Augmented Scaevan Gear in Final Fantasy XIV

To get Scaevan gear, you don't actually have to own Endwalker, but you'll need to have a Level 70 character and have been through the Main Scenario of Stormblood. That Level 70 threshold is also required for unlocking Reaper and unlocking Sage, but you'll need to own the latest expansion to play as them, mind.

Once you've met the pre-requisites for Scaevan gear, you should head to Rhalgr’s Reach, then go to the room on the right side of the map with all the merchants. To get Scaevan Gear, you'll want to talk to Enna (armor) and Eschina (weapons).

Augmented Scaevan gear will generally keep you good until about Level 75, at which point you'll want to think about upgrading.

Note: At this time, Final Fantasy XIV has removed basic Scaevan gear, and you can now only purchase Augmented Scaevan gear by using Allagan Tomestones of Poetics. For 2,000 Tomestones you can almost purchase a full set of gear, and luckily, Tomestones aren't too hard to earn.

How to Earn Allagan Tomestones of Poetics

Final Fantasy XIV provides a variety of ways to earn Tomestones of Poetics, and you'll earn quite a bit by just naturally playing the game. Though there are plenty of ways to get these for Scaevan gear, the best way of earning Allagan Tomestones is by doing Duty Roulettes, as most of them will reward you. Here are the amounts you get by simply completing each roulette.

  • Level 50/60/70/80 Dungeons  100 Allagan Tomestones
  • Main Scenario  300  Allagan Tomestones
  • Alliance Raids  120 Allagan Tomestones
  • Normal Raids  80 Allagan Tomestones

You'll also receive Tomestones for simply completing any dungeon Level 50 or above, and most trials above Level 60. The same goes for regular and Alliance Raids completed outside of the roulette.

While those will be your main ways of earning Allagan Tomestones of Poetics for Scaevan gear, here are a few others if you need to wrack up more.

  • Complete Wondrous Tails  Allagan Tomestones of Poetics are a possible reward for completing a Wondrous Tails journal, which you get from Khloe in  Idyllshire.
  • Complete Beast Tribe Quests  Beast Tribe Quests from A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood will all net you a few Allagan Tomestones.
  • Hunt Trains  Completing Hunt Trains and taking down A or S rank monsters will net you a good few Allagan Tomestones.
  • Notorious Monsters in Eureka  If you head to the special instanced zone of Eureka you can complete FATEs there to take down Notorious Monsters and earn some Tomestones.

That covers everything you need to know about getting Scaevan Gear and Allagan Tomestones in Final Fantasy XIV. For even more help on the main game, and Endwalker, make sure to check out our FFXIV guides hub

FFXIV Endwalker: Where is the Aether Compass? https://www.gameskinny.com/djoh6/ffxiv-endwalker-where-is-the-aether-compass https://www.gameskinny.com/djoh6/ffxiv-endwalker-where-is-the-aether-compass Fri, 03 Dec 2021 14:04:53 -0500 Ashley Shankle

In FFXIV, the Aether Compass is your key to finding every Aether Current to learn how to fly in new zones, and it has been since Heavensward. Now in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, you may be wondering where to find the Aether Compass since it is no longer in the Key Items bag.

Where is the Aether Compass in FFXIV?

No one could blame you for being confused when you look in your Key Item bag and find no sign of your trusty and completely unloved Aether Compass.

FFXIV's Aether Compass has been moved to your Collection, another inventory type that could go completely unnoticed without looking around. You can find it by clicking Duty in the primary menu (where you may click to reach the Duty Finder normally), and then clicking on Collection.

You don't have to access this menu each time you want to use your Aether Compass to seek out nearby Aether Currents. You can drag it onto a hotbar for quick and easy access while you're running around Sharlayan or even lower expansion zones trying to unlock flying.

That's it for how to find the Aether Compass in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. Check out some of our other FFXIV guides here on GameSkinny.

FFXIV Endwalker: How to Unlock Reaper https://www.gameskinny.com/w2yao/ffxiv-endwalker-how-to-unlock-reaper https://www.gameskinny.com/w2yao/ffxiv-endwalker-how-to-unlock-reaper Fri, 03 Dec 2021 06:05:47 -0500 Ashley Shankle

You'll want to unlock Reaper in FFXIV before you can play it. The Reaper is one of two new classes to Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. Its flashy Voidsent-imbued abilities, and the fact it's the first melee DPS class to be added to the roster in some time, make it the far more anticipated addition to the MMORPG than the healing-focused Sage.

This quick FFXIV: Endwalker guide will tell you how to unlock Reaper and get started with this job as quickly as possible. If you're already close to or at the level cap, you won't have to do too much at all.

How to Unlock Reaper in FFXIV: Endwalker

In order to unlock the Reaper class, you'll need to both own Endwalker and have at least one class up to Level 70 already. If you fit both of those criteria, you can move forward with adding this class to your belt. There are only two things left to do: find an NPC and complete a questline.

The NPC needed to unlock the Reaper class can be found in Ul'dah, at the Steps of Nald. The Flustered Attendant is located at the coordinates (12.8,8.6) near the Quicksands. Their location can be seen on the map below.

Interact with the NPC to receive the quest, The Killer Instinct. Complete that quest, and you'll have FFXIV's newest melee class unlocked and ready to play.

Note that this class begins at Level 70, so you won't be able to

And that's how you unlock the Reaper class in FFXIV: Endwalker. It really is that simple, especially if you already have a class at Level 70 or higher. If not, you could spend a little time on previous content in expansions like Shadowbringers or Stormblood to get ready.
