Parks

Due to Fallout 76's strict carry weight limits and small stash sizes, inventory management can take up a significant portion of players' time in game. While it is certainly possible to work with 76's encumbrance system, and some of us enjoy the process of meticulously organizing our carried inventory and stashes, others are finding it tedious and downright boring.

For those players, there is currently a glitch that removes players' maximum carry weight, allowing them to hold as many boards, desk fans, and teddy bears as they desire. Here is the process for activating this infinite carry weight glitch.

---
Note: Use this glitch at your own risk. It is very likely to be patched, and any repercussions for using it will be your responsibility alone.
---

The Method

Activating the infinite weight glitch is easy and only requires the minimal resources needed to craft and modify a piece of light armor and access to an Armor Workbench.

The steps are as follows:

  1. Use an Armor Workbench to craft any piece of Light Armor
  2. Modify the Light Armor piece with the Pocked Mod
  3. Equip the Pocketed Light Armor piece
  4. Quickly and continuously unequip and reequip the Pocketed Light Armor piece

As you continue to put on and remove the armor piece over and over, you will note that your maximum carry weight is decreasing.

Keep repeating the process until your maximum carry weight displays as a negative number. You now have infinite carry weight and will not be over-encumbered as long as the glitch is active.

This glitch will deactivate upon logging out of Fallout 76. This means that you can return your character to normal just by leaving a server, but it also requires that you repeat this process every time you want infinite carry weight.

For those that would like to see the glitch in action, a video tutorial by YouTuber RGD5IMPACT is available:

Conclusion

While Bethesda has promised a stash size increase in a future update, this glitch is an option for players that are looking to address their inventory issues on their own terms. That said, in the current state of the game, inventory management feels like a design choice and part of the 76 experience -- to bypass it completely seems to miss part of what the game is about.

With this guide, you can now choose whether to use the glitch or not. However, remember that Bethesda has made no official statement and you will be culpable for any punishments that may befall your account.

Too Fast Glitch

\n

It's one thing when some bug happens to you, but what if you stumble upon somebody who actually got glitched? One YouTuber spotted either a very lucky guy or simply a hacker, who moved so fast that it was impossible to kill him.

\n

If it's a temporary glitch, then it's fine, of course, but if it's a cheater, then the developer simply must deploy an anti-cheat system as soon as possible.

Flying Glitch

\n

Looks like we've tried everything: walking on the clouds, getting underground, and now we can also try flying. There is a secret place on one of the bridges in PUBG Mobile that glitches and sends you flying into the sky.

\n

Well, you aren't exactly flying; it's more like falling. But who cares? It's definitely one of the funniest glitches in the game so far.

Underground Glitch

\n

It's hard to say how exactly you can get under the ground in PUBG Mobile, but some players have been successful by entering the tunnel on the eastern part of the map.

\n

Otherwise, it can happen as a vehicle glitch after you drop off. The game will unexpectedly spawn you under the ground, and you can even use it to win the match.

Any Clothing Glitch

\n

How about unlocking any clothing you want for your character without paying any money? Well, there is a temporary solution -- or a glitch, to be exact. You can choose any item from your inventory, then press "Reset Appearance" and "Exit."

\n

In this simple way, you can put on any clothes you want. However, the glitch will not work in the game, but only inside the menu.

First-Person Glitch

\n

There is no first-person mode in PUBG Mobile yet. But it looks like some players have managed to trick the game into letting them have one. You can achieve the effect by switching the gun and activating scope at the same time.

\n

It looks a bit funny, but hey, it's a first-person view nonetheless. So enjoy this glitch while it hasn't been fixed yet.

Last Circle Glitch

\n

You probably have heard about this glitch. It usually appears when players use bots, and the last circle narrows down to a tiny beam of blue light, and nobody wins in the end.

\n

It's fun when bugs and glitches make you laugh, but this kind of glitch is annoying, and players should just stop using AI bots.

Sometimes you cannot even start to play simply because the game won't let you drop. As seen in the video, one player recorded the glitch when he got stuck in the sky. At this point, you can't do anything, but you can watch other players from above.

\n

You can achieve this effect by removing your parachute too early. Just beware that it's not as fun as it may look.

Unexpected Animal Attacks

\n

The sudden bear attack may have gotten all the press in the teaser trailers (and those can be hilarious when you are fishing or just got done taking out a bunch of cultists), but nearly every animal in this game has gone homicidal and has a taste for human flesh ... even the turkeys.

\n

Seriously, go try hunting a turkey with a bow and arrow, and maybe just go ahead and miss one. They will go all aggro and can actually take you out if your health is low! I'm imagining the deputy then getting filled with stuffing and baked at a nice even 350 before being served.

\n

Always be on the lookout for those randy bulls as well! They have a tendency to come out of nowhere and knock whomever is currently talking to you way across the screen.

Helicopter Versus Animal

\n

When you combine homicidal animals with co-op open-world gameplay, a ton of available vehicle types, and destructible objects, there's bound to be some interesting kill combinations.

\n

If you've run dry of ammo or are having trouble hitting cougars and moose with a bow, you could always just grab a helicopter. Of course, not all of them come with mounted guns, so sometimes you've got to improvise. Crashing the bottom of the helicopter into an animal and dragging it into a building is always a viable option!

Flying Corpses

\n

Turns out this cult does have magic powers after all, because sometimes their dead bodies just start flying around the screen for absolutely no reason.

\n

I haven't personally witnessed this bug in-game yet, but there's a bunch of videos online of it happening after an outpost is liberated. I guess those fanatics just aren't interested in staying dead and would like to jump back into the fight!

Wingsuit Kamikaze

\n

Co-op Far Cry 5 is absolutely nuts (think of the Wild West of GTA 5 Online, but put it in the wilderness), and some players have come up with some truly innovative ways to take out their enemies.

\n

Did you know you can use your parachute and wingsuit to take out planes? Yup, just go up real high and aim straight for the propellers at the back of the plane. Sure, you'll get mulched, exploded, and fall hundreds of yards to your death, but maybe your co-op companion will be nice enough to revive you after the fact!

Traffic Fatalities

\n

In what may be a nod to one of Montana's deadliest features -- our icy, high speed limit highways and perpetually drunk population -- people sure seem to die a lot by vehicle accident in this game.

\n

In the screenshot above, a player has stopped to untie a kidnapped Montanan ... only to have her plowed over by a passing van a second before reaching her.

\n

The van wasn't even a cult vehicle, either! Some passing motorist just didn't feel like stopping to avoid hitting the lady sitting in the road. Whoops.

Dancing Peaches

\n

Hunting down the graphical glitches in open-world titles is basically its own mini-game at this point (remember how hilariously Dog Meat behaved when Fallout 4 first launched?), and Far Cry 5 suffers from a fair share of them.

\n

Just having Peaches and Cheeseburger as your fangs for hire and going for a swim is pretty silly on its own, but if you lure Peaches into a river and then pull out your fishing pole, things get really bizarre.

\n

Try hooking Peaches with the line, and a glitch will occur where she pops up on her hind legs and starts dancing wildly! I mean, I know most cats don't like being in water, but this is a bit silly....

Flight School Flops

\n

Did you know flying is hard and requires actual knowledge and training? Yeah, nobody realized that before now.

\n

Trying to land a single-engine bomber in the wilderness leads to all sorts of hilarious mishaps and funny Far Cry 5 gameplay, but even just lining up on your target for a bombing run can be a challenge.

\n

In what was probably my own personal most hilarious moment, I decided to try taking out a convoy of heavily armed trucks in John's region with a bombing run instead of going at them with small arms fire. I managed to entirely miss every single truck ... instead lighting the entire forest on fire and destroying every vehicle around them.

\n

As I was turning around for a second run, I ran straight into a particularly tall tree and got ejected to my death. No worries, I'm thinking, my companions will revive me! Except that forest fire I'd started was still going, so they both ran directly into flaming death, ending the quest early. Lesson learned, I guess.

Physics Fails

\n

Very odd things can happen when bodies interact with the vehicles in Far Cry 5, and this seems to be particularly true of the bodies of important characters like the main cult leaders.

\n

In the pic above, a player has attempted to load John Seed's lifeless body onto a truck bed to go drive it around enemy territory ... only things don't quite work out as planned.

\n

Somehow he gets stuck in the wheel well, but the situation goes truly nuts when punching the body away from the vehicle. Something in the code is obviously messed up, as the truck goes spinning and flying off into the sunset!

Suicidal Guns for Hire

\n

If Far Cry 5 has one glaring gameplay issue, it's got to be the AI. This game is a ton of fun, there's no doubt about that, but sometimes the companions are just flat-out stupid.

\n

From animal companions that will rush into a forest fire to try to revive you (and immediately get burned to death, of course) to guns for hire who will hurl themselves off cliffs or walk directly into your line of fire, these allies in your fight against the cult aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, that's for sure.

\n

In the unbelievable image above, a gun for hire got into a car and is about to drive it directly into an explosive silo for no apparent reason. Apparently the apocalypse was just too much for him to take, and he decided life wasn't worth living anymore.

Copulating Cows

\n

Yes, what you think is happening in that image above is exactly what is happening in that image above. Ubisoft actually created an animation for a bull to mount and ride a cow.

\n

This particularly disturbing image is from the Testy Festy side quest, where you are tasked with acquiring three different types of bull testicles to be cooked and eaten -- flambé style (kill 'em with fire!), shredded (mulch 'em with the death tractor), and "blue" (take 'em out while they are doing it!).

\n

For those wondering, yes, the Testicle Festival is a real thing in Montana, and they really do serve bull testicles cooked in a variety of ways. If the apocalyptic Seed cult didn't convince you to stay out of our state, maybe that little factoid will do the trick?

Destiny

\n

Destiny is a third person shooter, where you are trying to save the universe. Only, that's not likely going to happen with some of these glitches. One glitch that should have actually been in the game is glitch number 9, Fallen Skiff Glitch. That is a glitch would save so much trouble during story mode. Another crazy glitch is glitch number 5, Crazy Portal Glitch. This glitch was so bad, it managed to draw an audience from other players.

\n

---

\n

From the wacky to the beneficial, the world of glitches is almost as entertaining as the games themselves. What are some of your favorite glitches? Let us know in the comments!

Assassin's Creed: Origins

\n

Assassin's Creed: Origins is a fan favorite game with a storyline that is marvelous and full of adventure. These glitches add some much needed light humor to the game, especially with how they effect the player. GOLDTHEWRITER has the funniest glitch, with a two headed horse just sliding across the stage behind the player's character. Yet another horse glitch is by SUICIDE KNIGHT, with a horse is stuck in a river running in place.

Overwatch

\n

Now, everyone knows Overwatch is the game to play. It's a game that's fun, exciting, and frustrating all in one. These glitches are not only frustrating, but hilarious as well. Some of the best glitches are in the above video, and there's a definite theme to them. An example of this is the first glitch, where the character Tracer keeps getting stuck in the payload. Another glitch is with Mei as her character gets stuck mid battle. Funny for everyone else, yes, but definitely not something you want to be experiencing yourself.

Grand Theft Auto IV

\n

The best glitches are ones that make the game more enjoyable. These glitches from Grand Theft Auto IV are exactly that: so great that it makes you want to play the game just to experience them yourself. One example of an awesome glitch is when your character can glitch through the water onto the other side of the map. Or the incredible death drops from high places and the character, instead of dying, glitches into the ground or water. Even better, though, is when you glitch through a building with a helicopter.

Fallout 4

\n

Next is Fallout 4a post apocalyptic game that has mutants, bombs, survivors, and, of course, odd glitches that just make the game less serious. Check out some of these glitches that leave you scratching your head or laughing. This video starts off with the weirdest glitch of a character that should be running, but is swimming down a set of stairs instead, y'know, like we all do at times. Then there's another glitch of a torso squirming on the ground, when it should be dead -- but whether that's funny or just plain creepy is up to you to decide

Battlefield 1

\n

Battlefield 1 has its fair share of wild and unfair glitches, glitches that would frustrate even a saint. Of them all, the worst glitch is when the character is not responding, or then there are the general glitches in the system. One great example of this would be XSEVEROHATREDX. This player clearly had a plan that was ruined because of this nasty glitch.

The end goal for any developer is to deliver a clean, polished product to the user. But, as we all know, that often doesn't happen, with even huge budget games having a glitch or two. Many of our favorite games contain some...interesting glitches, some that add to the experience, and some that are just plan weird. To illustrate that point, we've compiled a list of the best glitch videos on the Internet from last year, all for your viewing pleasure.

Elite Dangerous, as an already successful title that has run on both PC and Xbox One since 2014, should be more than ready for its jump to the PlayStation 4. Frontier Developments has handled plenty of issues that have cropped up and kept the game thriving. The studio hasn't set a release date yet for the PS4 port, which hopefully means the team is taking their time to ensure everything runs smoothly.

\n

So with any luck -- and a lot of hard work on their part -- the PS4 version of Elite: Dangerous won't have any of the hiccups on this list when it comes out.

Downed or Overloaded Servers

\n

Without exception, any online game will have its servers go down at some point or another. Updates, reworks, patches, DLC, holiday events, severe weather, and DDoS attacks can all cause a server to go down.

\n

But sometimes servers go down for more ridiculous things, such as high number of players. A new game launch, in particular, can bring a server to its knees under the weight of a sudden influx of players.

\n

Elite Dangerous has been around for years though, so by now the developers should know what to expect in terms of playerbase numbers and how much strain the servers need to be ready to handle. So we're hoping that when launch day rolls around for the PS4, those servers are already primed for the onslaught of new adventurers and won't collapse under the added pressure.

\n

We'd much rather get to actually play the game on launch day, rather than ruefully watching Elite: Dangerous streams and wishing we could.

Broken Updates

\n

With a long beta period, a testing period for the Xbox One, and a slew of updates to refine and add content to an already massive game, Elite Dangerous has had -- and will continue to have -- a lot of updates. These days updates are as common as pressing the start button, so you have to expect them.

\n

Unfortunately, Elite Dangerous also has an issue of updates breaking parts of the game and creating new problems. Missing money, disappearing cargo, and an inability to access markets are all issues that have plagued the game from time to time.

\n

They were eventually fixed, as any devoted developer will do, but some extra testing and polishing before the game's PS4 release would be highly appreciated.

(Extreme) Graphic Degradation

\n

We know full well that it's nigh impossible to not have some sort of graphics degradation when porting from PC to console. Despite the fact that consoles are more powerful and PC-like than ever before, they still aren't quite as powerful as their desktop cousins. At least not yet.

\n

Back in the days of the Elite Dangerous beta, some users experienced a significant drop in graphical quality, namely in lighting and shading, just after updating. With the jump to a new console and architecture, such an issue could once again arise -- and we don't want to see it fly under the radar without getting fixed.

Incompatibility Issues

\n

The above image in an animation issue only encountered after equipping a new paint job for a ship. Why? Because the cosmetic change is apparently incompatible with some other aspect of the game.

\n

It's a minor grievance since the game is still fully functional and playable. But when such a glaring issue is caused by something so incredibly minor as a skin, there's no telling how many more issues can crop up. Trivial or not, in a game with thousands of active players, customization options, and interactive places and things, the little things need to be impeccably polished.

Graphic Glitches

\n

For its incredible size, Elite Dangerous really is a great looking game. Ships are incredibly detailed, planets are beautiful, and the character creation is outstanding.

\n

But when you can explore the vastness of space and jump from galaxy to galaxy, you're bound to come across something not so pretty eventually. And for some players, this comes not in the form of being killed or robbed, but of severe graphical glitches.

\n

Planets failing to load properly and complete lack of textures have been reported numerous times and are definitely something best left in the past.

"},{"image":"https://res.cloudinary.com/lmn/image/upload/c_limit,h_360,w_640/e_sharpen:100/f_auto,fl_lossy,q_auto/v1/gameskinnyc/7/7/5/77591f7721924a6.jpg","thumb":"https://res.cloudinary.com/lmn/image/upload/c_limit,h_85,w_97/e_sharpen:100/f_auto,fl_lossy,q_auto/v1/gameskinnyc/7/7/5/77591f7721924a6.jpg","type":"slide","id":"159463","description":"

Frontier Developments' Elite: Dangerous, a space adventure, trading, and combat simulation game, premiered on PC in December 2014 -- then moved onto the Xbox One less than a year later. Now, over 1.4 million sold copies later, the game is planned to release on the PlayStation 4 sometime this year.

\n

Unfortunately, games of a massive scale like this are bound to have issues somewhere along the way, and the console port on Xbox One is no exception. So before Elite Dangerous makes the leap to Sony's flagship, we're hoping these five issues get left behind.

PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS Public Test Server (PTS) Guide https://www.gameskinny.com/4i4t0/playerunknowns-battlegrounds-public-test-server-pts-guide https://www.gameskinny.com/4i4t0/playerunknowns-battlegrounds-public-test-server-pts-guide Sat, 22 Apr 2017 19:18:26 -0400 Sergey_3847

If you play PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS regularly, then you may want to consider installing the new test server that has been dispatched to Steam only a couple of days ago. It allows you to experience the newest updates before they get officially released.

However, you should be aware that these updates (coming every Wednesday) may contain bugs and glitches. But, if you want to help developers improve the game experience for the rest of the players, then here is a guide on how to set up the PUBG test server in no time flat.

How to Join the Public Test Server (PTS) in PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS

First, you must have PUBG in you Steam Library, and the test server should appear right below the original game in the list automatically. Choose it from the menu and press the Install button (see the screenshot above). As soon as the new server is installed on your PC, you can start testing out the new content by launching the corresponding icon on your desktop.

If you want to know what kind of updates are coming to the game, then check the official PUBG forums. For example, the latest patch has addressed issues such as low FPS and optimization for low-end PCs. Many players have been experiencing FPS drops in the game's open areas and during intense combat animations. These issues are currently being dealt with, and they are of the highest priority for the development team as of now.

On the other hand, players who expect new items will be rewarded as well. The newest update includes a fresh model of the submachine gun -- Vector SMG. You can also improve it with the newest 2X Aimpoint scope for effective midrange combat. As for transport, PUBG now has a motorbike with a sidecar, and three new versions of the Dacia car.

Unfortunately, one patch cannot guarantee a complete overhaul of the game, so you may still experience some issues. But that’s why the test server has been created in the first place -- to assure the efficiency of the game's optimization.

Do you feel that the new test server will improve the performance of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS? Will you install the PTS for PUBG? Share your opinion in the comments below.

I'm Not Paranoid; Who's Paranoid?

When all else fails, and the system works right, you can rely on your Pathfinder's RSF (Resting Stoned Face) to destroy the moment. It's the sorta face you'd make after taking your first hit off of some wacky tobacky and having your mom walk in your room. It's not so noticeable that she knows you're high, but it's bad enough that she knows something is... off. And that's the way I always feel about Sara Ryder.

\n

So there you have it. There's a variety pack of some of the times that ME:A decided that immersion wasn't a primary goal of theirs. I wish I could say that I was just cherry picking and that these sorts of things only happen once in awhile, but more often than not a character is acting weird or clipping through something. And if they aren't screwing up, the camera decides to fill in for them.

Sometimes the biggest problem, at first sight, is just that the camera is a little off center. But, hey, that's not a crime. Considering all the things I have seen from this game it is below mild.

\n

Then you realize that the nice man you are conversing with can fold his arms into themselves and you begin to get a little antsy.

Fear of the Dark

Then there's this guy just standing in the pitch black corner. We all know, or have at least seen, THAT GUY. He's like Fallout's Mysterious Stranger, but for all the wrong reasons. I guess he is what it's like for your opponents when the Mysterious Stranger pops in to help you out.

\n

Hell! I don't even know if he's doing any goofy shit because I can't even see him. For all I know his head is turned backward, he's wearing no pants, and he has pool floaties for arms. I'm not saying that's the case, but I'm not saying I confirmed otherwise either.

\n

Despite all of this, his belt buckle is clearly visible. After a little research I have come up with a couple possible hypotheses:

\n
    \n
  1. His belt buckle reflects all light, no matter how minimal. He was sent to the dark corner because otherwise, his belt buckle would blind everyone.
  2. \n
  3. He actually IS an irradiated belt buckle that grew a human-like body from an accident involving an undisclosed superhero and toxic waste.

Look What I Can Do
\n

There is so much wrong with this and half of it is missing because it's only a screenshot and not a video.

\n
    \n
  1. Because this turian was standing close to the wall the camera took to creating awkward angles like this.
  2. \n
  3. When you are in conversation with people, they repeat ambient movements over and over. In this case, the turian "holds" the datapad. (And I use "holds" as loosely as that turian grips things.) Inspects it. Taps somethings on the pad. Rinse and repeat. This whole animation cycle may take 5 to 10 seconds, so it's repeated a dozen or more times over the course of a 2-minute conversation.
  4. \n
\n

This case was particularly hilarious because he lazily flopped his wrist around while the datapad magically stayed glued to it.

\n

\n

Other classic highlights in the same vein as this one include:

\n
    \n
  1. Repeatedly tapping their wrist mounted omni-tool like a junky tweaking for some of the good stuff while talking to you.
  2. \n
  3. Peebee using certain animations frequently throughout a conversation that can only be described as "sassy". We're talking hand on hip, back threw back, flamboyant pointing, etc.

Scene: Nexus, Docking Bay (Exterior)

\n

You are in the middle of the docking bay talking to a terrorist who requested you specifically. She's dedicated to stopping the use of advanced AI, fearing they will overcome humanity and all civilization as we know it. A reasonable fear, perhaps. But not at the expense of destroying the quantum computers used to regulate the essential life-bearing systems on the Nexus.

You've been hunting her for awhile now, ever since she tried to hack your AI implant in order to rid you of your shackles. You infiltrated her base of operations under disguise. Tracked her down. And then the camera ruins all of that by framing half your face. Damn it, ME:A! You were so close to delivering a fulfilling quest line without a major fuck up.

Starting Off On The Wrong Foot
\n

This is one of the first screenshots I took of ME:A. You might think I am staring at a water cooler, which is technically true, but that is only half of the story. The other half of the story is that there is a guy on the other side of said cooler talking to me. Presumably, he is telling me to move around the water cooler so that we can resume our conversation like normal humans.

\n

But I'd just woken up from a 600-year slumber; how am I expected to remember the basic aspects of human interaction?

It's been said, many times and many ways, but Mass Effect: Andromeda lacks polish. Previously, I have talked about how this has hurt the UI, scanning, and favorites system, but today I will share some of the bugs that have helped ensure that I am never engrossed in my conversations.

\n

Mass Effect: Andromeda has some normal looking conversations, like the one above. The Salarian is looking at you, the camera is over your shoulder such that you can see him looking at you and see your Pathfinder looking back at him. The Turian in the background concentrates on the person talking as he naturally follows the conversation. It is tried and true, but it works well.

\n

But all too often the game utterly fails in myriad ways. Cameras failing to frame conversations, characters looking the wrong direction, and clipping of all varieties are all present in spades. Following are some of my personal screenshots detailing the more egregious fails I've had with Mass Effect: Andromeda's conversation system.

Dancing Elites
\n

I'm not sure that this is the classic dancing Elite glitch, but this clip from Halo 5 is too good not to share. This is another one that puzzles me. I can't really explain what's happening here and I don't think I can dismiss this one as a lag issue. Whatever the cause of this glitch is, I think it's fantastic. I also laughed harder than I should have when he got stomped out at the end of the clip.

\n

---

\n

And with that, I conclude my list of 9 Halo glitches that you can't help but laugh at. Some are scarier than others, but at the end of the day, they're all pretty hilarious, no matter who they happen to.

Know of any even funnier Halo glitches? Let us know about them in the comments below!

Undead Scarab
\n

This is another one that is half-terrifying and half-funny to me. On the one hand, there's something about seeing a blown-up Scarab come back to life that is somewhat nightmarish. But on the other hand, seeing one hobbling around on two legs is laugh-inducing in a weird kind of way. (It counts as a laugh if you're laughing out of disbelief, right?)

\n

Anyway, if you play Halo 3 and want to experience this glitch for yourself, check out this tutorial below. If you just want to see footage of the Undead Scarab in action, skip to 4:34 and decide for yourself if it's funny or scary.

Quicksand
\n

As seen in this image from Nostromo II on Bungie, this unfortunate glitch in Halo 3 caused unsuspecting players to be sucked right into the floor and die a twitchy, painful-looking death with no warning at all. I'm not entirely sure what causes this to happen, but I'm assuming it's the result of lagging. There's a part of me that doesn't want to laugh because it's kind of terrifying, but there's also something about it that's really funny.

Wall Hacking
\n

Also called "Ghost hacking," but I suppose that in this case, it might be more appropriate to call it "Phantom hacking." Basically what happens here is that if you're moving fast enough, you can go through walls because the game will not register the wall in time.

\n

This case is exceptionally strange to me because it is my understanding that once you pass through the wall, you die. In a strange turn of events, it looks like this driver somehow managed to go right through the wall and off the map.

Corpse Glitch
\n

Glitches with corpses are one of the more common ones in most of the Halo games. Most of us have seen videos of breakdancing corpse in Halo. This one is another Halo: Reach beta glitch where the corpse inexplicably starts waving just his arm. While some of the other corpse glitches are kind of creepy with all the spasms, this one is oddly friendly, as if the corpse is waving at you ... welcoming you to Hell ...

Character Stretch Glitch
\n

One of my personal favorites is a fairly common glitch that occurs in almost all the Halo games -- the character stretch glitch. It's so common we could make a list by itself of all the best character stretch images on the internet.

While there are definitely some more extreme instances of this glitch (such as the first image of this slideshow), there's something about this screenshot from Cheese Chex on Bungie that I find so hilarious. This Spartan looks like some weird, disfigured bird ... or something.

Weaponless Glitch
\n

This glitch occurs in almost all the Halo games, usually as a result of overloading the map with too many objects. This specific image comes from an individual who was wielding a hammer in Forge World for Halo: Reach. Then he went weaponless.

While it is one of the more common glitches, I’ll never stop thinking it’s funny seeing someone holding a phantom weapon. There's something about a weaponless Spartan that just looks ridiculous. These guys were meant to be soldiers.

Banshee Glitch
\n

Banshees have been known to do what they want at times, resulting in a lot of Banshee glitches in the Halo series. I'm not exactly sure what caused this one, but, like many of the glitches in Halo, I'm going to chalk this one up to some sort of lag. Armor Permutation Glitch
\n

In the Halo Reach beta, some users reported severe armor lag that caused armor permutations to change. These instances usually occurred upon death, but in rare cases, it happened to players while alive. This perfectly timed screenshot, courtesy of Halo Wikia, features an individual who looks horrified at what is happening. Or maybe just embarrassed about their pauldron being on the wrong side.

Over the years, the Halo games have brought joy to so many lives all over the world. We all know it, and I would argue that most of us love it. As far as first-person shooters go, it's definitely one of the best and most widely played.

And although most of us play Halo for its competitive nature, another highly entertaining aspect of the game is the occasional glitch you'll run into. While they can be really annoying when you're in the middle of a campaign or a game of CTF, they can be extremely funny when it's not happening to you -- and sometimes they're even so hilarious it doesn't matter who they happen to.

\n

So to celebrate Halo franchise as a whole (and for me, the upcoming ESL Halo Pro League summer season!), here's a compilation of some great glitches throughout Halo history.

Most RPGs

\n

You don’t have to look far to find bad animations in the RPG genre. RPG’s have often been at the forefront of the industry when it comes to pushing new gameplay types, as they often abstract new ideas and concepts into creative gameplay. But extra breadth and depth of systems have often left RPGs lacking in the artistic departments. After all, creating high-quality art for 60 hours of content is harder than for 10 hours of content.

\n

It’s undeniable that games like Fallout 4 do not have the same polished gameplay, including animations, as games like Call of Duty. But that’s not the draw of RPGs, it never was.

\n

Do you even care if RPGs have bad animations? Or do you think that RPGs need the polish in gameplay and animations? Let us know in the comments below!

World of Warcraft

\n
Blizzard is too Busy Counting Benjamins to Care About Animations
\n

There are a couple big reasons that WoW’s animations are bad:

\n
    \n
  1. WoW is an old game - sure it has overgone some makeovers, but it at its core it is still an old game.
  2. \n
  3. It is an MMO - fancier graphics make it harder for people to run the game, thus reducing your viable demographic. It is a balancing act.
  4. \n
\n

One of the aspects that make MMO animations look so bad, WoW’s in particular, is the way characters move. They hop and spin in mid-air in a way that is unnatural even for video games. They walk through other characters. Bulky armor often clips through level geometry, particularly in buildings. Attacks track an insane amount.

\n

Alas, bad animations have not derailed this behemoth MMORPG as it has aged well over a decade plus.

"},{"image":"http://res.cloudinary.com/lmn/image/upload/e_sharpen:100/f_auto,fl_lossy,q_auto/v1/gameskinny/e0a9a7ff8bf1a7e15174fa021a62dd63.jpg","thumb":"http://res.cloudinary.com/lmn/image/upload/e_sharpen:100/f_auto,fl_lossy,q_auto/v1/gameskinny/e0a9a7ff8bf1a7e15174fa021a62dd63.jpg","type":"youtube","id":"10688","description":"

Tales of Berseria

\n
Cutting (and Clipping) Corners!
\n

It can be hard to watch footage and get the feeling that the animations in Berseria are bad (they just don't look it). But playing the game conveys a huge lack of polish.

\n

When you press the analog stick forward it feels like your character instantly starts running at full speed; the transition between standing and running is not smooth at all.

\n

Your character also doesn’t rotate smoothly when running. It often looks like you are merely running straight and then your character is just rotated when they change direction. The character does not bother to lean towards the direction they are moving as they shift their weight.

\n

It's a lot of subtlety that was not there in the PS2’s generation, but which was brought into animation on the last gen of consoles.

\n

Moreover, many of the attacks in Tales of Berseria yank your character around, removing them from their “center of gravity” so to speak. For instance, there’s an attack where your character hops right of where she was standing and leaps from right to left while swiping. She starts in the middle, jumps off the the right, and then yanks over to the left before unnaturally resetting in the middle. In short, the animations feel low budget.

\n

Thankfully the anime style helps save the day. Character models don’t need to be as detailed because of this. A lot of the dialogue that’s delivered via text blurbs is also accompanied by anime portraits. And the fully animated cutscenes are honestly gorgeous.

Final Fantasy XV

\n
Beauty is a Beast (to Control)
\n

One of my first impressions/concerns of Final Fantasy XV after watching gameplay footage was, ”this looks fun but sluggish.” It looked as if there was so much concentration placed into making an attack feel weighty that it ended up making it feel slow and unresponsive. Similarly, some of the animations were made to look so aesthetically beautiful that they don’t actually feel all that good, like jumping.

\n

When I first played ME:A, I wasn’t in love with the look of the jump --  although it wasn’t bad --  then I realized it felt great, and this made me love it way more. This was the opposite reaction I had to the jump in FFXV.

\n

That being said, FFXV is a fun road trip with your pals, especially the earlier parts. And there’s something cathartic about that.

Salt and Sanctuary

\n
Picking on the Little Guy
\n

This game is really easy to suggest. Do you like 2D platformers? Do you like the Souls games? If you answered yes to both of those questions then you will almost certainly enjoy this game. In fact, one of the main knocks on the game was not that it did a poor job copying the spirit of the Souls games, but that it was so close to those games that it lacked its own identity. Something that wouldn’t actually be a problem had the developers in question been From Software or their past employees.

\n

Salt and Sanctuary's jilted animations are more forgivable since it was developed by a small team, unlike the other games on this list. It is reminiscent of stop-motion paper animation. So if you like that art style then you will probably like this game's style.

Fallout 4

\n
Bad, but Not Oblivion
\n

Bethesda is similar to Bioware in that they have also helped drive the RPG genre in recent years, but they also have some pretty bad animations in their games, and their name also starts with the letter ‘B’.

\n

Now let’s not pretend that Fallout 4’s animations are great. The characters often look stiff when moving. And enemies in particular either don’t react to being shot, or they completely overreact by flying 15 feet upon getting hit with a kill shot.

\n

I would even go as far to say that facial animations look less natural in Fallout 4 than in ME:A. However, I think that most reactions have smoother transitions and are less jarring than what happens in ME:A at times.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

\n
All in the Family
\n

Bioware’s strong suit has never been animation. While it did not suffer from the same degree of bad facial animations as the likes of ME:A, it's combat animations were arguably worse.

\n

A common running theme you will find on this list is that half of what makes an animation good is how the character controls. This is to say when you have the controller in your hand does the action you are doing feel like it matches with the actions on screen. Does the character move in sync with your button presses? Is the character responsive? Etc.

\n

While ME:A’s combat feels smooth and responsive, DA:I’s can feel like a weird mashup between action game and RPG. It is not quite as action-oriented as a full blown ARPG, like Darksiders, but it is definitely not as rooted in RPG tradition as Dragon Age: Origins was.

"},{"image":"http://res.cloudinary.com/lmn/image/upload/e_sharpen:100/f_auto,fl_lossy,q_auto/v1/gameskinny/c84066d8f5e7d0ecdca82336c1b9ae50.jpg","thumb":"http://res.cloudinary.com/lmn/image/upload/e_sharpen:100/f_auto,fl_lossy,q_auto/v1/gameskinny/c84066d8f5e7d0ecdca82336c1b9ae50.jpg","type":"youtube","id":"10693","description":"

Mass Effect: Andromeda’s animations have been complained about and mocked ever since early pre-release footage. In the days leading up to release the noise only got louder with the bubble finally bursting a few days later.

\n

Having played the game a good deal, I can agree: the animations aren’t great; facial animations, in particular, are pretty bad.

\n

Humans make odd faces, many of which are not very natural. Often characters look like you pulled someone off the street and asked them to act. Many times the animations wouldn’t be bad per say, but would be jarring. For instance, a character might quickly transition between exceptionally happy and profoundly sad. The game’s heavy emphasis on storytelling means bad facial animations are immediately evident.

\n

There are much smaller animation problems in other aspects of the game. For instance, when your weapon is put away Ryder’s movement feels like you are moving on ice.

\n

In spite of some wonky animations, I’ve found ME:A to be thoroughly enjoyable when combat is at its finest. So I decided to gather some other RPGs with bad animations that also happen to be pretty darned fun.

The Most Outrageous Ghost Recon Wildlands Glitches and Bugs https://www.gameskinny.com/8x81l/the-most-outrageous-ghost-recon-wildlands-glitches-and-bugs https://www.gameskinny.com/8x81l/the-most-outrageous-ghost-recon-wildlands-glitches-and-bugs Thu, 16 Mar 2017 08:00:02 -0400 Ty Arthur

Open world tactical shooter? Sign me up! While a little more on the serious side than something like Just Cause, there are some serious lulz to be had while blowing up the Bolivian countryside in Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

There are a handful of amusing Easter eggs to be found across the game, but most of the hilarity on display is actually quite unintentional, stemming from a collection of bugs and glitches that haven't quite been hammered out yet.

When dealing with large 3D worlds and tons of interacting objects, vehicles, and characters, it's only natural that everything won't fit together perfectly on launch. The odd glitching out body part (which seems to happen a good deal when standing on overturned vehicles) is just a fact of life with games of this style.

If you don't want to miss the most outrageous glitches before they get patched out, check out our full roundup below.

Vehicular Existential Crisis

There's only so far developers can go in mimicking real-life rules of the road, and cars that get stuck in odd places, crash through seemingly solid objects, and other glitches of the sort are just part and parcel to any game featuring a steering wheel.

One unlucky player got more than he bargained for, however, while driving down a dirt road. After getting stuck in the dirt for no apparent reason, his vehicle dropped through the ground into some unknowable netherrealm free of form or constant gravity. We can only hope he found inner peace or met God or something there before Hulk smashing his keyboard into his monitor.

While the image below showcases the mind-bending drop into the void, you can also check out a rage-inducing full video of the glitch here.

That's definitely not the only odd car bug in Wildlands either, as you'll see tires disappear into the road or the sides of vehicles miraculously turn intangible while driving through what should be solid objects.

 Um... where are we?

Fire Immunity

There are plenty of ways to die out in the Wildlands while undertaking missions and dismantling a cartel, but it seems like Ubisoft maybe forgot to program on or two in...

For some reason your squad members can stand on top of burning cars and suffer no ill effects, which seems like an odd oversight, but hey, I bet that player was happy!

     Anybody bring marshmallows?

Helicopter Transfer Mayhem

Jumping out of one helicopter onto another one seems like some serious GTA or Just Cause nonsense, so of course more than one player has attempted it in Wildlands already.

What was discovered was more than a little odd... apparently deadly helicopter blades count as a flat surface in this game! You can see the full absurd process in action over at Imgur here.

Yes, that man is walking on spinning blades while getting into another chopper

Immovable People

Another fun vehicle-based glitch, as it turns out some dead bodies are hard as stone, and you can actually get stuck on them as though they were completely immovable objects. I don't recommend trying it out, because it's more frustrating than it sounds.

Well, looks like its time to get a new dirt bike

Stretch Armstrong

This one seems to have been fixed since the beta, but it was jaw-dropping (and immersion breaking) when it happened not too long ago. Friends and foes alike would suddenly grow insanely long, rubbery appendages that got stuck on other objects and continued lengthening as you ran away. These images will forever haunt my dreams.

 Kill it with fire!

What's the most outrageous Ghost Recon: Wildlands bug you've discovered so far? Let us know in the comments!

We're suckers for a good laugh-out-loud glitch, and there's plenty of them found across the gaming universe. Need a good chuckle today? Check out our other outrageous glitch and bug roundups:

Games Bug and Glitches

Mope.io is like any other game, it has glitches. It does not matter how popular a game is, there will always be coding issues. Just look at games like Call of Duty and Modern Warfare. Both games are plagued with bugs.

Players have even been known to walk through walls, dodge missiles and walk away unscathed after being in the middle of a massive explosion. The fact that Mope is updated with new content regularly, means glitches are inevitable and can easily start to stack up. Of course, when they do happen, the community quickly spreads the word and takes advantage.

Infinite Food and Points, Excessive Bananas

Games like Mope.io, with its' massive user base, are all about balance. After all, it is based on the ecosystem and food chain. And just like the food chain, if there is an abundance of a particular food, then the whole system can start to fall apart.

In the case of Mope, players eat food and other animals to gain experience points or XP. Gain enough XP and you can upgrade to the next tier of animal. But in December 2016, bananas that are worth 100XP were spawning too fast. Essentially flooding the game with excessive experience. And of course, the kids abused the glitch.

This glitch has since been fixed. But it did make for some interesting videos from the community.

God Mode in Mope.io

Every gamer at some point wishes they had god mode. Perhaps they want to kill an amazing player out of pure frustration, or they want to show off to their friends. Recently, this was a possibility on Mope and the origin of the issue seems to have created a number of glitches.

In the game, you have the ability to toggle up and down the food chain at will. This is a designed feature to allow a player to explore new upgrade paths and generally enjoy all creatures. Although, it seems if a player has low health and downgrades, then quickly upgrades their animal, their health is fully restored. Hey presto, God mode.

Unlimited Animal Powers and Abilities

To make Mope a little more interesting, the developer added powers and abilities to the game. Things like, give crocodiles a bite. You can grip on other animals inflicting damage in the process. Or if you are playing a mammoth, you can fire snowballs at other players, also resulting in injury to other players.

These powers normally have limited use. Like any good power in a game, excessive use would ruin the game for other people, so you apply some form of throttling. When the god mode glitch was discovered, it was also discovered that the same upgrading-downgrading toggling action could also be used to instantly recharge an animal's powers.

Then players ran wild with this, as you can see in the videos below.

Dead Rising 4 Best Glitches and Exploits for Infinite PP / Scrap https://www.gameskinny.com/yi137/dead-rising-4-best-glitches-and-exploits-for-infinite-pp-scrap https://www.gameskinny.com/yi137/dead-rising-4-best-glitches-and-exploits-for-infinite-pp-scrap Tue, 13 Dec 2016 00:36:46 -0500 Ty Arthur

To become the best zombie killing machine possible, Frank will need to earn lots of PP (the Dead Rising equivalent of EXP) to unlock new skills and piles of Scrap to buy vehicles or equipment.

If you don't like doing things the old fashioned way and earning your level ups, there are methods of working smarter rather than harder and very quickly leveling (or becoming quite rich) by taking advantage of exploits.

Dead Rising 4 features a series of glitches or odd design choices that mostly cause problems - the Investigate The Rumors mission in particular seems to be bugged - but there are a few helpful exploits available by taking advantage of the game's checkpoint loading system, allowing you to earn large amounts of PP and scrap very quickly.

Below we cover the best methods currently available that hopefully won't be patched out anytime soon.

Need more help with Dead Rising 4 outside of bugs and glitches? Be sure to also check out:

Unlimited PP Glitch

In Case 3 of the main story campaign during the Tracking The Signal mission objective you will find a room where you can pick up an Exo suit. Grab the ice machine directly behind the Exo suit and combine them, then head out of the house through the garage to find a horde of zombies waiting to be frozen to bits.

Keep firing off the combo suit's freeze effect to very quickly earn an absurd hit streak, since you will hit large numbers of zombies with every charge attack. Your multiplier will rise exponentially very, very quickly, resulting in rapid level gain. Feel like gaining 10, 20, 30 levels in just a few minutes? Have at it and keep firing!

Icing zombies to reach high levels quickly

Here's the catch though: you don't want to run out of zombies (thereby dropping your hit streak) or leave the area. Before you reach a new checkpoint, just simply go into the menu and re-load the last checkpoint... keeping your level but respawning all the zombies. Rinse and repeat with the Exo suit / ice machine combo to gain as many levels as you want.

There are several other areas with similar exploits available, like the church in West Ridge that also has an Exo suit and a vacuum power up that sends 10 - 20 zombies flying to their messy deaths with each hit.

Quick Scrap Gain Exploit

Go to an area with an ATM nearby, then reload your check point so that you see where you are spawning and don't leave that area or advance the plot so you keep respawning in that same location each time you load the checkpoint.

To make this work, find a checkpoint that is as close to an ATM as possible to save time. The idea here is to get as much Scrap as possible with as little effort spent as possible. Run up to the ATM and crack it open to get the Scrap, which will be a variable amount each time. With luck, you'll earn 3 - 5k Scrap each time.

Immediately afterwards, just reload the checkpoint again and repeat the process. You will will always keep the scrap you harvest, but the ATM will be loaded with scrap again when you load the check point - meaning you can quickly earn large amounts of Scrap without having to kill tons of zombies or search across the map for new ATMs.

It's the apocalypse, so it's not like the bank needs the money...

These are best Dead Rising 4 exploits and glitches we've found so far - let us know if you used them, and be sure to offer up any other helpful bugs you've discovered for faster leveling!

5 Funniest Glitches in Final Fantasy XV So Far https://www.gameskinny.com/j5v1k/5-funniest-glitches-in-final-fantasy-xv-so-far https://www.gameskinny.com/j5v1k/5-funniest-glitches-in-final-fantasy-xv-so-far Sat, 10 Dec 2016 14:34:49 -0500 Pablo Seara

Final Fantasy XV, as you probably know, is the biggest open world Square Enix have ever created. It takes lots of inspiration from Western Triple-A developers like Bethesda or Rockstar, and the result is a very good Final Fantasy game.

However, like most modern games, Final Fantasy XV has its share of glitches. Thankfully, most of these bugs are not game-breaking and instead imbue the game with hilarious and bizarre side effects that definitely make us laugh. So, here you will find the five funniest glitches we have seen in FF XV so far.

Lux Infinity & Beyond!

Playing the Judgment Disc Demo of Final Fantasy XV weeks before the game's actual release, this player was enjoying his time in the world of Final Fantasy XV, getting to know Leide, Hammerhead, Galdin, etc. Minding his own business, he finds a group of dangerous rhinos in the area and decides to fight them. Imagine his surprise when he suddenly teleports hundreds of feet above the ground!

This hilarious glitch only happens in the demo when you fight this particular group of rhinos, located south of Hammerhead. When the battle is over, Noctis appears in the sky high above and starts falling until he reaches the ground in a spectacular smash.

However, it can get even worse.

The second time you try to defeat the animals, you get teleported and fall outside the limits of the demo! You are trapped and cannot get back. Thankfully (or not), this bug was patched in the main game.

Purple Sea, Purple Sea...

How is this even possible! What kind of phenomena can explain this? This is supposed to be water in Galdin Quay. However, it has turned purple! All of it! Needless to say, we do not think it is safe to swim or fish there... If you could even see fish in the first place.

Later, you will notice that this is not the only glitch involving neon purple. There seems to be a problem with this particular color in the game. Or maybe somebody just like purple. Who knows?

Why Are You So Serious!

Noctis, are you alright? Much like Assasins' Creed Unity and The Sims, Final Fantasy XV also includes extremely glitched faces -- with both horrifying and hilarious results. In this case, Noctis turns partly invisible and shows us his radiant smile.

We find it really interesting that many games have these kinds of bugs. They are especially weird and funny during cutscenes, where they takeaway all the dramatism and seriousness of the moment. Not even a 10-year development cycle can fix these situations...

What if everybody in the game looked like this? Creepy ...

The Human Centipede

Notice something wrong? Apparently, Noctis is ignoring the fact that there are four people merging behind him! Like a pair of Siamese twins, these four gentlemen are having a casual conversation -- just as each pair slowly becomes one bizarre, single person with two heads and several limbs!

These fine gentlemen could easily be from the world's of Bloodborne or Silent Hill, but instead, they've decided to bring a little horror to the world of Final Fantasy. However, they are harmless. You can approach and take a closer look with no fear of possible retaliation. They are friendly creatures ... for now.

Dragon Ball XV

My personal favorite glitch so far, and one that I would love to trigger on purpose, is this awesome neon-purple hair Noctis is rocking! Suffice it to say this hairdo is one of the best in the Final Fantasy universe. It looks like he is becoming a Super Saiyan, which really wouldn't be a surprise if it were true. After all, he can teleport, briefly float in the air and kick serious ass. Sadly, I have checked and he is still not able to perform a kamehameha.

There is also another bug in the image. Prompto's eyes are shining! Maybe he does not want to be a character of Final Fantasy XV and prefers to being a member of Daft Punk instead. Or a futuristic zombie, who knows!

And that is it for the most hilarious glitches in Final Fantasy XV. There will probably be more in the coming weeks when the player-base increases and they get to explore the vast world of Eos.

What do you think of these bugs? Have you find new ones? Let me know on the comment section below!

How to Fix the DirectX Glitch for Battlefield 1 https://www.gameskinny.com/bnm98/how-to-fix-the-directx-glitch-for-battlefield-1 https://www.gameskinny.com/bnm98/how-to-fix-the-directx-glitch-for-battlefield-1 Fri, 02 Dec 2016 05:57:16 -0500 SarahKel

When playing any game, finding a bug is completely annoying and frustrating; no more so than whilst playing the recent FPS Battlefield 1 on PC. It's a great and immersive game, so it's incredibly annoying to come across a bug when all you want to do is load the game!

However, this is something that is very easily fixed.

Some PC Battlefield 1 players have been experiencing the following DirectX issue on Nvidia cards when they attempt to load the game:

As we can see, it looks like the graphics driver crashes when trying to start up Battlefield 1.

If you're having this issue, here are some basic steps you can try first:

1. Perform a clean Uninstall/Reinstall of your Nvidia drivers.
  • Perform a complete uninstall or use a handy piece of software called DDU -- that can be obtained here -- to remove all traces of your Nvidia drivers.
  • Once this is complete, install the latest drivers from Nvidia for your card here.

2. Make sure Battlefield 1 is up to date.

A 'Fall Update' was recently released for the game that included several DirectX fixes. There is an option within the Origin client to automatically update games but to double check the game is up to date:

  • Go to ‘My Game Library’, right click on the Battlefield 1 portrait and from the menu select ‘Update Game’.
  • This will then check the current version and download any necessary files.

3. Repair the game files

For various reasons the integrity of the game files can become corrupted. To verify that the game files are all okay:

  •  go to ‘My Game Library’, right click on the Battlefield 1 portrait and select ‘Repair ’.
  • This will then verify all the files and download and replace any files if needed.

Note: BF1 is a 47GB install so that’s a lot of files to check. Therefore depending on your system, this could take a few minutes to complete.

How to amend the Direct X glitch if caused by full screen mode

If the above fails to address the issue, several users (including myself) have found that the cause of the Direct X glitch is due to the game launching in full screen mode. This is something which is a bit difficult to change if you're unable to load the game to get access to the in game video settings. However, there is a file you can edit that will allow you to make changes to the game's settings without the game running.

  • Simply navigate to: This PC > Documents > Battlefield 1 > Settings.
  • Open the file ‘PROFSAVE_profile’ in a text editor and search for the line that reads ‘GstRender.FullscreenEnabled 1’. Change the value ‘1’ to ‘0’.
  • Save and close the file.

Hopefully, this will resolve the above DirectX issue if you've experienced it whilst playing BF1, and this fix makes the game loading a less frustrating experience.

Bioshock: The Collection save data glitch may prevent your exploration of Rapture https://www.gameskinny.com/odajr/bioshock-the-collection-save-data-glitch-may-prevent-your-exploration-of-rapture https://www.gameskinny.com/odajr/bioshock-the-collection-save-data-glitch-may-prevent-your-exploration-of-rapture Fri, 30 Sep 2016 02:00:01 -0400 Sean Handler

Remember the last article I wrote about glitches in Bioshock: The Collection for PS4? After dealing with the freezing issues in the first game, I finally made it to Bioshock 2, only to end up with a very bad glitch that as of yet has no official fix.

I encountered this glitch in the Siren Alley area of Bioshock 2, although I've read that users on Reddit have encountered it as early as the beginning of the game. It happens when you go to save the game, and when you attempt to save your progress you'll get a pop-up saying "There is not enough space in Application Saved Data. Please delete save files to free up more space."

Regardless of the amount of saved files you already have, this pop-up will prevent you from saving progress. I discovered you cannot overwrite older saved files either, as the pop-up still came up when I tried to overwrite an older file to conserve space, thinking that might work.

Deleting saved data in the "Bioshock" folder of Application Saved Data on System Storage may or may not fix the glitch. I also tried deleting saved data from other games to free up space on my hard-drive, that did not work either. If this does or does not work for you, or occurs on platforms other than PS4, please let me know in the comments below.

Homefront: The Revolution Getting Performance and Stability Patches https://www.gameskinny.com/2rgoj/homefront-the-revolution-getting-performance-and-stability-patches https://www.gameskinny.com/2rgoj/homefront-the-revolution-getting-performance-and-stability-patches Sun, 29 May 2016 08:08:08 -0400 Sonny Go

Upon its release on May 17, Homefront: The Revolution had a number of issues that needed addressing by Deep Silver's Dambuster Studios. Many of these problems have indeed been noticed by the developers, and they're now working to resolve them through some performance and stability patches, according to a post on Homefront: The Revolution's official forums by community manager Craig Turner.

One of these technical problems is a game-breaking bug caused by a "minor" patch that prevented some PlayStation 4 users from progressing further in the game. Dambuster Studios had those affected send their save files and other valuable information to help them with fixing said problem. A patch update to is now being worked on and is on its way.

There was also another issue with saving, in that checkpoint saves in the open world kept disrupting the flow of gameplay in exploration, acquiring missions, and completing missions. The developers have since reduced the frequency of these checkpoints, and removed duplicate checkpoints that happen in quick succession. The latter is likely what causes most of these save stalls.

And it's not just players on the PS4 that are having problems; Xbox One has issues with DLCs.

Content from The Revolutionary Spirit Pack and Liberty Pack can't be obtained by some Xbox One players, prompting the developers to work with Microsoft to resolve it. As of now, the DLCs should be unlocking correctly. Those who still can't access them are advised to delete and re-install the affected DLC items, then restart the game.

There are also other DLCs that aren't unlocking as they should, although it's due to a different issue. The Right Kind of School and Supply Line bonus DLCs from the Expansion Pass are reportedly the problematic ones here, and developers are now working on fixing this as well.

Aside from problems with the content, there are also problems with game performance and stability in general. What Dambuster mostly touched on was the crashes on the PS4 version of the game. However, many of the bugs involved are said to be cross platform, so whatever fixes come out from  PlayStation will apply to PC and Xbox One as well.

Other than that, the forum post states that the developers are working on performance improvements and other optimizations as well. Erratic frame rates had been reported on launch, as well as graphical glitches and even some peculiarities with the AI. Suffice to say, there's a significant number of things that Dambusters should be working on in Homefront: The Revolution.

Fallout 4: The Bad Among the "Oh So Good!" https://www.gameskinny.com/ofrhp/fallout-4-the-bad-among-the-oh-so-good https://www.gameskinny.com/ofrhp/fallout-4-the-bad-among-the-oh-so-good Wed, 09 Mar 2016 02:49:46 -0500 VirtuousRob

While there is so much that makes Fallout 4 a fascinating experience, there are a few things that tend to be downright annoying. While it shouldn't discourage you from playing this game, let us delve into some of the situations you as an intrepid player could -- and probably will -- face.

Disappearing Allies

Let's be honest here, a good majority of Fallout 4's player base probably loses track of their follower. And yeah, that's not really any fault of the game itself.  However, there seems to be many occurrences where you've not even had the ally following you, just sitting in a settlement, and suddenly they're no longer anywhere to be seen in said settlement.

It's not only your followers that can get lost;  I've personally had normal settlers end up randomly standing on top of buildings with no way to easily get them down or, you know, shove them off.  While this is funny and somewhat astounding the first couple of times, it does start to get irritating when Dogmeat won't stay off the roof.  However, sometimes the player can use the workbench in the settlement to build a staircase up to the trapped NPC and hope they walk down on their own.  This isn't always a bad thing of course;  maybe you simply didn't like that NPC.

Glitchy Corpses

This is one glitch that seems prevalent in many of Bethesda's games: corpses (or other inanimate objects) that glitch through a floor, wall, desk, or even another corpse. And when that happens, there's usually a loud clatter noise, which is quite distracting as you attempt to sneak up on that next soon-to-be corpse.

Glitchy Objects

Somewhat similar to corpses that glitch through mass, many objects will do the same thing.  Say you're trying to place your collection of Trifold Flags neatly on a shelf in your formidable fortress.  You will get it set up, but after returning from your adventures a few times you may notice they fell through all the shelving and scattered themselves among the floor.  That's if your loot didn't just fall through the floor completely.

Personally I think something like this would be easily remedied with a similar system as Bethesda has for placing magazines on a rack or bobble-heads on their own little stand.  A shelving inventory system.  Weapon decor would be pretty cool too, am I right?  Pretty please, Bethesda?

Settlement Construction

The settlement building system is a new, well-made feature specific to Fallout 4.  It's great -- really!  Though there are times when you're trying to get that wall or cabinet just right and for some reason it likes to think it's colliding with something and can't be placed.  Or maybe you're having trouble placing your Power Armor Station flat on the ground, and for some reason it always appears to be floating.  This feature is definitely amazing but also leaves the more meticulous players wishing for a bit more.

Surviving the Commonwealth is bound to inspire laughter, or the occasional jump-scare.  Maybe the minor inconveniences add to that!  If you've not already spent some time exploring this game world, you definitely should!

How to fix 3 common bugs and glitches in Oxenfree for Xbox One https://www.gameskinny.com/eihil/how-to-fix-3-common-bugs-and-glitches-in-oxenfree-for-xbox-one https://www.gameskinny.com/eihil/how-to-fix-3-common-bugs-and-glitches-in-oxenfree-for-xbox-one Tue, 19 Jan 2016 14:45:03 -0500 Zanne Nilsson

Supernatural adventure game Oxenfree just released a few days ago, and a few bugs have already become apparent in the Xbox One version of the game. Luckily, developer Night School Studio has already found some fixes, which they posted on their blog. They intend to update the list as more problems become apparent, and hope to fix these and other problems in future updates to the game.

The three known bugs, as well as a step-by-step guide to fixing or working around them, are listed below:

After pushing the dumpster in Main Street and selecting "Go to Cliffs" Alex just stands there, and the game won’t continue:
  1. Pause the game, select "Main Menu," and restart the level.
  2. While replaying the level, after you’ve pushed the dumpster into place again, move Alex to the left before selecting the option to ‘Go to Cliffs’ again. This issue only occurs if Alex doesn’t move after finishing pushing the dumpster and before selecting the option to ‘Go to Cliffs’.
After playing "Truth or Slap" Ren says they should hop the fence, but just stands by the fire holding a rock in his hand instead:
  1. Pause the game, select "Main Menu," and restart the level.
  2. While replaying the level, if you choose to ask Nona a question during ‘Truth or Slap’, DO NOT pick the option that asks if she likes Ren. The other 2 questions (or silence) should allow you to proceed normally.
After opening the "Chest" in the attic of the Adler Estate, the conversation stops and the game continues:
  1. Pause the game, select "Main Menu," and restart the level.
  2. Upon replaying the level, once you have the code for the Chest in the attic make sure Jonas is next to you before choosing to go up the staircase to the attic. If Jonas is nearby before going upstairs, the issue can be avoided.

The fact that these bugs were already apparent on release day probably isn't a good sign, but at least Night School Studio has stayed on the ball when it comes to addressing any known errors.

So, have you noticed any other errors while playing Oxenfree on Xbox One? Or have you been having problems on any other platforms? Let us know in the comments!

People have been having problems playing Star Wars Battlefront. Thankfully, EA is aware of this, and earlier today they released a list of known, common problems and how to fix or work around them. Read on to see if your problem has a simple fix.

Errors and other issues

Problem joining servers/matchmaking (Xbox One)
  • Workaround: Close your game and check for a game update. Installing the update should let you join the servers.
Infinite server loading screen/Stuck at server "joining" screen

PC Num-Pad keys do not work (PC)
  • Workaround: None. The Num-Pad on PC can't be used for any keybindings.
Joysticks don't work (All platforms)
  • Workaround: None. Joysticks can't be used.
PC Third-Party messaging software causing the game screen to go black (PC)
  • Workaround: Tab out of the game, or interact within the messaging app screen, to fix the issue.

Poor performance when running dual graphics cards

The workaround for this problem is more involved than the others, so it's getting its own subsection. This one's due to a driver issue, and graphics card makers are working on a driver update to fix it, but in the meantime you'll need to disable one of the cards to prevent performance problems.

AMD Players

Change your Crossfire settings in the Catalyst Control Center:

  1. Right-click your Desktop and select Catalyst Control Center.
  2. Open the Graphics menu.
  3. Click CrossfireX.
  4. Uncheck Enable Crossfire.
  5. Click OK to save your settings.
NVIDIA players

Change your SLI configuration through the NVIDIA Control Panel:

  1. Right-click your Desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. Expand the 3D Settings section.
  3. Click Configure SLI, Surround, PhysX.
  4. In your SLI configuration options, click Disable SLI.
  5. Click Apply to save your settings.

Sony advises PlayStation 4 players to restore licenses

In addition to EA's fix list, the PlayStation Support page for Star Wars Battlefront released and highlighted the following update for users having trouble starting the game:

Update: Please restore your licenses if you are having issues starting the game. Go to [Settings] > [PlayStation™Network/Account Management] and select [Restore License].
If you continue to have issues, please try powering your system down fully, and reboot.
Note: Be sure not to enter rest mode and power the system down fully.

Hopefully more fixes and solutions to Star Wars Battlefront problems will become available soon.
