The Sexy Brutale is a deliciously dark murder mystery, where only you -- Lafcadio Boone -- can help stop numerous party guests from meeting their grisly ends. The puzzles start off fairly simple, but will soon require you to use a combination of acquired powers and the unique time travel mechanic to help save the attendees.

The fourth victim you need to save is Tequila Belle. The southern siren is tricked into using her powerful voice on stage in front of mosaic glass, which shatters and fatally wounds her. It may take a few attempts to understand how the staff and Tequila are involved, but the solution to preventing her death is actually very simple and doesn't require any time travel. Read on to find out more!

Solving the Murder of Tequila Belle in The Sexy Brutale

Firstly, from your starting point on the first floor go to the room with the ice-cold barrier highlighted below. You'll now be able to see that the barrier is actually three ghosts, since the mask you received from Willow makes them visible. Talk to them, and they'll let you past.

Move quickly to the music practice room with the record player in, marked below by the bloody shield.

In here, remove the vinyl record from the player.

The clock is still ticking, so hurry eastward and go to the storage closet in Tequila Belle's dressing room.

Once there, put the vinyl record you just picked up onto the record player.

Head back to the atrium on this floor, south of the concert room. This is marked by the bloody shield below.

You need to wait for the murderous staff pianist to hear the noise of the record, and leave to investigate.

Once he does, go inside the concert hall and grab the red key from the piano, marked with a yellow circle.

Hurry now, as this is critical! Rush back to Tequila Belle's dressing room and lock the door to the storage cupboard using the key you just collected.

That's it! The pianist is locked in and can no longer play the song which caused Tequila's voice to fatally shatter the glass.

Great work -- you've saved Tequila Belle and have gained the use of her mask! This allows you to shatter vases and windows made from mosaic glass, which the lady in red gets you to demonstrate on the back window.

As a reward for your success, the lady pushes you through the hole to the floor below. There's nothing like a bit of encouragement to solve the next murder... You're halfway through -- don't lose hope!

The Sexy Brutale Walkthrough - How to Solve the Murder of Willow Blue https://www.gameskinny.com/9mhbg/the-sexy-brutale-walkthrough-how-to-solve-the-murder-of-willow-blue https://www.gameskinny.com/9mhbg/the-sexy-brutale-walkthrough-how-to-solve-the-murder-of-willow-blue Wed, 26 Apr 2017 13:44:04 -0400 Rob Kershaw

The third victim you need to save is Willow Blue. This is a little different as it's a suicide, but it's instigated by a nefarious demon who has bewitched the poor guest. It also requires you to restart the day a few times to ensure you have all the information you need. Don't worry -- this guide will walk you through all the steps!

Solving the Murder of Willow Blue in The Sexy Brutale

Firstly, go to the room marked below with the bloody shield and hide in the wardrobe.

Trinity will eventually turn up along with one of the staff at around 2:25pm. By using your new power (i.e. holding R2 on your controller) you'll be able to listen to the staff member's whispering and obtain the door code. If you miss it, don't worry. Trinity will come back in and also whisper it, giving you a second chance to catch it.

Go to the room to the left of this one (see the bloody shield on the map), and use the code on the door there.

Once through, head upstairs and make your way to the room with the big fish in the tank.

You'll see a winding key on the floor -- grab this, and then move to the room with the grandfather clock to save your game. Don't forget to use your pocket watch on the clock too, to ensure future restarts begin here!

You now need to find Willow's body in this room:

Just before Willow hangs herself, she drops a bone key. You'll see it marked with a yellow circle -- grab this, because it's important.

Now move to Willow's study (marked by the bloody shield) and use the bone key on the odd desk.

Inside is a recipe for the hungry charm, an item you may have come across earlier. Don't worry if you had no idea about its use -- that will be explained shortly.

The map will also point out where you need to feed the hungry charm. But first you need to discover the location of the secret passage that you'll ultimately use the charm on. Since too much time has passed, you need to restart time (press L1 on the controller), and reset to 12pm.

As soon as the day begins again, head to the corridor adjacent to the room with the paintings in it.

Spy into the painting room, and you'll eventually see Willow open the skull painting and head in.

You're almost done. Restart the day again, and immediately head to the room left of your starting point. Collect the hungry charm on the floor.

Now go to the first recipe location marked on your map -- "Hungry Charm First Meal" -- and use the hungry charm on the fish in the right-hand tank.

Then go to the location marked "Hungry Charm Second Meal" and use the hungry charm on the big tank there too.

The charm is ready! Quickly head over to the painting room, head through the secret door and use the charm on the spooky door.

Go inside, and up the stairs. You'll see the fish tank is constantly supplied with water.

All you need to do is wait for Willow to come in and light the candle, and as soon as she does, turn the wheel to move the pipe over -- it will extinguish it a few seconds later.

Congratulations! The brainwashing ritual is broken, and Willow is free from its spell. You've now earned a new mask which will allow you to speak with the many ghosts roaming the mansion. Three of the murders in The Sexy Brutale are solved, but you're far from done...

Mass Effect Andromeda Guide: How to Solve the Elaaden Vault Puzzle https://www.gameskinny.com/84jgz/mass-effect-andromeda-guide-how-to-solve-the-elaaden-vault-puzzle https://www.gameskinny.com/84jgz/mass-effect-andromeda-guide-how-to-solve-the-elaaden-vault-puzzle Tue, 28 Mar 2017 13:41:54 -0400 Synzer

At this point in Mass Effect Andromeda, you know the vault on a planet is the key to restoring it and making it viable for an outpost. Each vault is different though, and there are 3 monoliths you need to solve before you can even step foot into the vault.

I'm going to go over everything you need to know about the monoliths and what to do when you get inside the Elaaden vault.

How to Solve the Elaaden Monolith Puzzles

Thankfully not every monolith has the long, complex sudoku puzzles that Voeld had -- but there is at least one. I'm going to list each monolith as North, South, and West, then go over what you need to do at each one. The header image above has each monolith circled, with the direction next to them.

North Monolith

This monolith has 3 glyphs that are easy to find by scanning. The challenge comes after finding all 3 glyphs. Once you go back to the console, you have to do a complex sudoku puzzle, similar to those on Voeld. If you are having trouble, check out the solution pictured below:

West Monolith

This monolith has 3 glyphs, but thankfully no sudoku puzzle. The puzzle comes from reaching the 3 glyphs. Scanning will reveal where the glyphs are, but you won't be able to reach them at first.

You will need to interact with another remnant console nearby -- separate from the main one -- to raise some platforms. These platforms will allow you to reach the glyphs so you can scan them.

After scanning all 3 glyphs, you can interact with the main console to activate the monolith.

South Monolith

This is very must like the West Monolith in that it does not have a puzzle other than finding the 3 glyphs.

The same concept applies here, but there are 2 different terminals you have to turn out this time. Multiple platforms will raise once you do this, and you will be able to reach the glyphs to scan them. After you have done that, go to the main console to activate the monolith.

Entering the Elaaden Vault

After you've activated all 3 monoliths, the vault will appear to the east of the West Monolith and near a Forward Station. I also have it marked on the header image.

When you enter the vault, you will need to activate the console above where you enter. After that you will see 5 consoles in front of the door, with beams coming from some of them.

1st Vault Puzzle

To open the door, you must get the beams to come from all 5 at once. Starting from left to right they are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Whenever you activate a console, it will turn off or turn on certain beams. To solve this puzzle, activate console 5, then console 4. Don't activate any of the others, and the door will open.

Continue through the vault, killing or sneaking past any remnant. Ignore the first console you see -- which just makes escaping harder -- and go until you get to another room with consoles.

2nd Vault Puzzle

Drop down to the left first, then activate the console on the platform, which turns all the harmful bubbles into safe bubbles. Go to the farthest right bubble and activate the console to build part of the bridge in the middle.

Now, head back up to the center and activate the 2 consoles to raise the platforms to the right. Jump to each platform and activate the consoles. After that, jump back to the 2 consoles in the center and activate both again. This will cause 4 beams to go to 1 spot, which activates another platform with a console that will open the door ahead.

Now simply go through the door and walk all the way around until you reach another console. This will complete the bridge in the center room so you can reach the purification console.

Bonus Puzzles

If you go to the left side of the room and continue past the plant, you will find many Remnants, as well as a huge one. Defeat them all to gain access to a bonus room.

This room has a Sudoku puzzle -- the hardest one I had to complete so far. If you do it, you get skill points and access to the final puzzle. The solution is below:

You will notice five consoles all around the room and most will have a light block next to them. There is one that does not -- activate that console. Continue to activate the consoles that do not have a light next to them until a 6th terminal appears. Activate this to unlock the door so you can escape through this room once the purification process begins. There is also a chest that you can pick up through the door during your escape.

Resetting the Vault

Go back to the center room, follow the bridge to the final console, then activate it. Now all you have to do is run back through the vault towards the room with the 6 consoles and sudoku puzzle, and activate the console to reset the vault.

That's all for my guide on the Elaaden Vault Puzzle in Mass Effect Andromeda. Let me know if you have any questions, and be sure to check back soon for more guides and tips!

Zero Time Dilemma: Fix the Transporter! https://www.gameskinny.com/lh6yr/zero-time-dilemma-fix-the-transporter https://www.gameskinny.com/lh6yr/zero-time-dilemma-fix-the-transporter Tue, 05 Jul 2016 10:03:31 -0400 ChrisDeCoster

The Transporter room in Zero Time Dilemma is a radically different puzzle from all the others in the game, and one of the most frustrating as well.  Not only is it difficult to solve, but you're also without your favorite snarker and esper, Phi, meaning you've only got your wits and Sigma to rely on.  Here's an easy guide that will help you fix the alien transporter and save Phi!

  1. First, gather the thirteen cards.  They're not hidden, and most are just scattered around on the floor, so this will probably be the easiest part of the room.
  2. There's a machine to the left of the door that looks a bit like an ATM.  Use all of the cards on the machine.
  3. Once you've done that, a holographic book will appear on the pedestal to the left of the machine.  Open it and read the chapters inside.  It will tell you that the symbols are numbers, and that the wind symbol=0.
  4. To the right of the nucleus, there is a panel with a triangle with a circle in the middle.  Put any card on it, and another card will appear.  Whichever card breaks is the lower number.  Use this to figure out the order of the cards.
  5. Go back to the holographic book, select Question, and put the symbols in order.  The correct order is as follows: Wind, Sun, Moon, Human, Two Moons, Star, Human and Moon, Flower, Three Moons, Two Humans (no relation to Too Human), Star and Moon, Bird, and Human and Two Moons.
  6. As soon as you put down the book, another machine with start up.  Select that machine, and it will give you two sets of reels.
  7. There's a spot for the reels next to the triangle panel.  Put both sets in place.
  8. Turn the reels on the bottom to display Moon, Flower, Two Humans, Star, and Sun.  Then, turn the crank.  It will display Human and Two Moons, Two Humans, Star, and Sun.  Put those cards in that order in the nucleus, and you'll be all set.

The fun's not over yet, though.  The decision afterwards is a bit frustrating, and even if you make the right choice, it can feel like you screwed up because you'll be (temporarily) locked out of all other fragements.  Here's what you must do afterwards:

  1. Go with Sigma into the transporter.  You'll get a chance to save your game, and then taken to the fragment select scene.
  2. You can only select one of two D-Team fragments. Pick the new one.
  3. You'll be taken to another escape room.  This one is in the locker room, and it's much easier than the transporter.
  4. Once you finish, you'll be asked a password.  You won't have the password at that time, so don't worry.  Exit out, and you'll go back to the fragment select scene.
  5. Re-select the Transporter room, but go into the FLOW menu.  Pick the scene immediately after your decision, which will be marked with a question mark.  You'll get a short cutscene, than be able to pick whatever fragment you want.

Hopefully, this will help you to solve the most frustrating puzzle in the game, than keep you from getting stuck due to the decision afterwards.  Remember the locker room fragment when you get that password, though! And if you're stuck in the Control Room, you can check out our guide and find your way out!
