Due to connection issues for Trials of Osiris in Destiny, this week's Iron Banner Tournament will not be happening as the issues will not be fixed on time. Bungie let players know over Twitter:

The Trials of Osiris is is a weekly Crucible (multiplayer) event in an Elimination style game type. There are also level advantages enabled, so players with better gear and levels will get buffs. The playlist is avaliable from Friday till Tuesday each week, but due to connection issues with this week's event the Iron Banner Tournament was called off.

The Iron Banner Tournament comes and goes throughout the year, but is only available for a limited time. Played within the Control game mode, however, you must be at least level 40 and light level 230 to participate in this 6v6 tournament. You are rewarded with Iron Banner exclusive gear if you rank up, win, and even get buff multipliers for just taking part each day.

It's unclear as of yet when the Iron Banner Tournament will come back online, but GameSkinny will keep you updated.

In good news, any network errors with the HONEYDEW code have now been fixed.

Destiny iron banner is back and better than ever Tue, 13 Oct 2015 11:50:17 -0400 BlackTideTV

To seasoned Crucible veterans the Iron Banner is a call to duty every time Lord Saladin returns to the tower. Forcing players to battle one another without any level balance, the Iron Banner is a place for top-tier Destiny players to utterly destroy players of lower levels in an effort to increase their reputation and unlock items of even greater power.

Sound like fun? Iron Banner is back in the Tower during the week of 10/13 to 10/19.

Lord Saladin has really outdone himself this time. Being the first visit following the release of the Taken King, the Iron Banner has all new rules when it comes to bounties, reputation gains, and item purchases.

Bounties are no longer simple daily challenges to complete in the Banner playlist. There are now three weekly bounties of increased difficulty. Of course, these bounties offer extremely valuable rewards and any players undergoing the Iron Banner challenge shouldn't hesitate to grab them first.

Iron Gauntlet

The Iron Gauntlet weekly bounty asks players to, "Impress Lord Saladin with extraordinary feats in the Iron Banner." Sounds easy enough...

  • Achieve a 10-Kill Streak
  • Earn 5 Double Kills
  • Achieve a Top Overall Score in any Game
  • Reach Iron Banner Rank 4

Iron Marathon

Iron Marathon is significantly less daunting, but will require dedication.

  • Complete 13 Iron Banner Matches
  • Win 7 Iron Banner Matches
Iron Versatility

"Improvisation is a powerful tool. Show me you have the ability to win - no mater the weapon." - Lord Saladin

  • 50 Primary Weapon Kills
  • 25 Special Weapon Kills
  • 13 Heavy Weapon Kills

Atop these three daunting tasks lies a minimum of three daily challenges as well. Iron Banner-ists really have their work cut out for them this week.

"Prove your worth in the Iron Banner. Only then will you reap its rewards." - Lord Saladin

Hopefully, players of the Iron Banner have been saving up their Legendary Marks, as they are the only form of payment for Event Rewards. Emblems and shaders can still be purchased with glimmer, but to buy arms and armour, the real treat of the Iron Banner, players will need to start saving up.

Lord Saladin now possesses two shiny new player emblems, each available for 1000 glimmer. Iron Pride features the skull of a buck-like creature with a wolf storming towards the player level. It is available at Iron Banner rank one. The Ironwood Tree features the classic Iron Banner emblem emblazoned on a golden backdrop. It is available at Iron Banner rank five. Both emblems are of the Legendary rarity.

With all of the bounties to complete, rewards to unlock and emblems to buy, it's a good idea to take to the Iron Banner until October 19th. But be warned! The Iron Banner is a dangerous place for lower level players, and there will be no mercy.

Iron Banner is set to make it's return soon to The Taken King Tue, 29 Sep 2015 11:35:59 -0400 mrivera269

Today, Bungie's community manager, Deej, confirmed that the Iron Banner crucible mode will make its return soon.

With the return of the Iron Banner comes new and exciting updated gear. Unfortunately, these new weapons and armors will not re-roll. Reforging is not returning. All updated gear will come at 280 Attack/Defense, so be ready to infuse them.

Here's a list of all the new upcoming gear coming to the Iron Banner courtesy of Planet Destiny.

Titan's Iron Companion Helm, with Angel of Mercy Perk

All Trials and Iron Banner helmets will come with the "Angel of Mercy" perk, which will gain super energy from reviving down players. It is still unknown about when Trials or Iron Banner will be released in the Taken King. But "soon" will hopefully mean...soon. As of now, Mayhem Clash is the weekly crucible game type.

In the meanwhile, I urge PvP players to get their light levels into the 300 range if your want to be successful in Iron Banner or Trials. If the format stats are true you'll have to hit Rank 3 in order gain access to all of Lord Saladin's gear and items. Stayed tuned for more information about The Taken King and crucible here at GameSkinny.

Bungie Launches Another Destiny Iron Banner Event By Mistake Tue, 04 Nov 2014 10:32:09 -0500 AJ_Labate

The Iron Banner has returned to Destiny, albeit as a mistake and only for an hour earlier this morning.

Bungie has confirmed via Twitter that today's Iron Banner event was launched by mistake, and that it was the old version without the new tweaks they promised with the next Iron Banner event.

In the tweet, pictured below, the developer points out that information regarding the new and improved version is going to be released to the public very soon.

The event accidentally went live early this morning, presumably during the weekly reset, but was quickly pulled down within a few hours. All of the Iron Banner bounties are gone, the back area of The Tower is closed and Iron Banner is no longer available to select from via orbit.

It appears that the Iron Banner event started ahead of time, before it was ready with new tweaks.

For any gamers who are unfamiliar with the event, Iron Banner is a special competitive multiplayer event in which player damage and armor ratings play a huge role in the PvP format. Normally within the game's Crucible mode, player levels and armor ratings are scaled and thus a non-factor in order to create a level playing field. Iron Banner let's players gain every benefit from their hard-earned gear.

During the first event, held from October 7th through the 14th, many players complained that high level characters did not have enough of an advantage. This newly patched Iron Banner promises to make significant changes to the way the event caters to the hardcore high-level players.

So keep your eyes and ears open for any news regarding the next Iron Banner event and remember Guardians, Legends are forged in battle!
