Sony is partnering with TT games for some exclusive goodies. LEGO Marvel's Avengers will be getting free DLC exclusively for PS4 and PS3. The news comes from the game's director, Arthur Parsons. PlayStation gamers will be able to access two additional movies of content.

"LEGO Marvel's Avengers is getting some free DLC content exclusively for all PS4 and PS3 players. What's even more awesome is that the content is based on the brilliant Marvel's Ant-Man movie and also one of my most anticipated films of 2016, Marvel's Captain America: Civil War."

-Arthur Parsons

The Captain America: Civil War Character Pack will include nine characters from the upcoming film. This list includes: Captain America, Iron Man (Mark 46 armor), Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Crossbones, and Agent 13.

These characters will be available to take into the main game as well. The DLC will be released at launch on January 26th.

Meanwhile, the Ant-Man character and level pack will include a new level (no further details were given as to what specific scene). Eleven characters will be playable, including: Ant-Man (Scott Lang), Ant-Man (Hank Pym), Ant-Thony (Flying Ant), Cassie Lang, Darren Cross, Luis, The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne), and Yellow Jacket. This DLC content will not be available until spring of 2016.

How big of a deal this is may depend on when this content will be released for the other platforms, and what the price will be. Console-exclusive DLC has been common practice over the years. Titles like Call of Duty would offer early map access on Xbox platforms, while Sony would get exclusive side missions in the Assassin's Creed series.

Does this sway you to purchase the game instead of the weekend rental route? Normally I rent LEGO titles, but being a Marvel nerd, the DLC release in the spring may warrant a purchase for me. Share your thoughts in the comments!

The Taken King: How to get to level 40 super fast - speed leveling guide https://www.gameskinny.com/5mdfb/the-taken-king-how-to-get-to-level-40-super-fast-speed-leveling-guide https://www.gameskinny.com/5mdfb/the-taken-king-how-to-get-to-level-40-super-fast-speed-leveling-guide Wed, 16 Sep 2015 09:52:36 -0400 Chelsea Senecal

Speeding toward level 40 in The Taken King first seemed ridiculous to me. However, the more I observed about the universe of Destiny, the more it becomes obvious that the game doesn't really open up until you hit that last level. The Taken King is no exception. Even though light is still important in your character's ability, advancing through level opens up bigger and better weapons and armor. And who wants to play with green weapons forever?

If you are under 34, this will obviously take longer (don't forget to take your consumable given to you for characters under 25). However the steps are the same.

Anyway, the easiest way to get to 40:

First starting out, make sure you go to the Tower and trick or treat your way around to pick up all the goods. And then:

  1. Claim your allegiance to a faction.
  2. Spend your given Vanguard and Crucible commendations to level up that faction's rep and if you hit a new tier, claim your prize (usually a level 40 weapon or armor).
  3. Throw your prize in the vault along with most of your beloved weapons cause they're about to be useless. You need to make room for green ones (but don't fret because this is why you're leveling up, to get the good loot).
  4. Exchange your armor materials (sapphire wire, hardronic essence, plasteel plating) with the Vanguard Quartermaster or donate them to your faction for more rep. (it takes 1000 units of armor materials for a complete rotation around the rep counter).
  5. Grab all the bounties. ALL OF THEM 'CAUSE THEY FIT NOW.
  6. Grab as many missions as you can from Warlock, Hunter, and Titan Vanguards. There won't be many available now, but get what you can.
  7. Leave the Tower.
  8. Start the story! Laugh at the funny narratives! Enjoy the story that makes some sense this time around!
  9. Play through the story while focusing on completing your bounties and missions. You can turn in your bounties as you complete them. Don't forget to "track" your bounties so you can just pull out NolanBot to view your progress.
  10. Once you finish the story (doesn't take too long), go patrol somewhere (if you have a bounty to collect things on Venus, go there, duh) or run the strike playlist.
  11. Play around in the Crucible to complete those bounties. This time around, the Crucible bounties are much more do-able for filthy casuals such as myself.
  12. Do what you can with those missions. The missions are fairly long and may not be fully completed in one day depending on how long you can stand the tedium.

That's it. That's 12 points but between leaving the Tower and finishing the story and bounties, you should have either reached 40 or stand somewhere around 39 and a half (if you began at 34). It took me about 5 hours, and I took my time. Comparatively, this is much better than sitting at 29 and praying and grinding to get something better than a stupid +32 light gauntlet for 2 (TWO!) weeks.

If you began at 25, keep on doing bounties and finishing missions. Patrolling and killing the hell out of everything while grabbing beacon missions will not only help XP, but also faction rep. If you haven't done all the strikes, do those and then keep doing them. Yeah, its grinding, but the quicker to 40, the better your weapons and armor become so you can do the really cool stuff.

Do you have any tips or strategies that you'd like to share?

Warlords of Draenor Pre-Order Grants Instant Level 90 https://www.gameskinny.com/k84hd/warlords-of-draenor-pre-order-grants-instant-level-90 https://www.gameskinny.com/k84hd/warlords-of-draenor-pre-order-grants-instant-level-90 Fri, 17 Jan 2014 08:04:36 -0500 Brandon Morgan

Blizzard Entertainment has announced those players who pre-order the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion Warlords of Draenor will receive an instant level 90 boost for one of their characters. This will allow users to explore the end game content without putting in the hours upon hours it takes to level regularly.

Blizzard announced the perk during BlizzCon as an option for players to instantly upgrade one of their characters. The new Draenor zone, where the level cap is 100, will be available at 90.

This boost option will be available for all, but pre-orders will receive it early. Blizzard, on their official blog, said:

We’re going to grant you your level-90 boost at the time of pre-purchase. That’s a little different from the plan we laid out at BlizzCon, but based on the feedback, it’s obvious that many of you would like the chance to get acquainted with a new class before heading into the expansion.

This will also give more players the opportunity to experience the current end-game content and the events leading up to Garrosh’s exodus to Draenor. Maybe you’ll get your Legendary cloak from Wrathion and level 90–100 Heirloom weapon in the process.

To get everyone straight to the action, when you buy the expansion, it will come with a boost to level 90 for one character on your WoW account. We’re getting ready to test the functionality for that on the PTR, and we wanted to provide a quick update on how it will work with the upcoming expansion pre-sales.

Blizzard intends to hold a closed beta testing session for the Warlords of Draenor expansion soon. The expansion is set for a full release in the fall.

Pikmin 3 Is Getting Some Love https://www.gameskinny.com/p17o4/pikmin-3-is-getting-some-love https://www.gameskinny.com/p17o4/pikmin-3-is-getting-some-love Wed, 13 Nov 2013 21:46:48 -0500 Corey Kirk

With almost every gaming news site talking about the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, one wonders what Nintendo has been up to. What’s going on in the realm of the iconic Japanese company? Well, a lot actually. Not only is the release of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds almost upon us, but today we got some exciting news for Pikmin 3 fans!

During the Nintendo Direct livestream, it was announced that Pikmin 3 will be receiving some cool new DLC on December 2. There is also something special about this DLC. Unlike previously released content, the new DLC will only consist of new stages. This is a departure from the previous formula of releasing new spins on existing stages.

The DLC will include four “Battle Enemies” stages and four “Collect Treasure” stages for a total of 8 new stages altogether. Players will also be able to control Captain Olimar from Pikmin and Pikmin 2 in some of the levels which should be a joy to long time Pikmin fans.
