Did you ever think it was possible to make the criminal underworld look pretty? Neither did I, but the folks over at SMAC Games did. And they have made it happen with their game Tokyo 42.

Set in -- get your surprised face ready-- future Tokyo, you play as an assassin who is trying to uncover a plot that affects everyone, I'm assuming everyone in the game world, not the real world. Tokyo 42 is an isometric, action game that features both singleplayer and multiplayer. The form multiplayer takes is unknown, but here's to hoping it's Assassin's Creed, or Watch Dogs style that makes you the AI.

I've always wanted to go to future

Tokyo 42 is inspired by classics such as Syndicate or GTA1. Judging from the trailer, I see more Syndicate than GTA. But when playing I'm sure GTA-esque dialogue and situations will arise.

So what type of assassin are you? You're a sneaky, shapeshifting, explody, long shot, or close shooting assassin. Having a range of play styles is always nice, I'm just hoping it rewards you equally for all play styles.

Tokyo 42 is coming in 2017, and will be published by Mode 7 of Frozen Synapse and Frozen Cortex fame.

Frozen Cortex New Update Adds Forzen Cortex Manager Fri, 01 May 2015 07:03:21 -0400 Pierre Fouquet

Frozen Cortex is a simultaneous-turn-based strategy game set in the future and developed by Mode 7 Games. You control a team of robots in a futuresport similar to Football (the American kind), but it's a much more violent version, where you can punch and kick your opponents out of the game.

Frozen Cortex just received a new update which adds the Frozen Cortex Manager, which adds a much deeper stimulation level to the game, making it a Football Manager-lite.

With Frozen Cortex Manager each player now has their own stats and injuries, you will be able to bid on free agents, manage your salary cap, set formations, or just sit back and watch the game play itself by via simulation. A new league has also been added in the form of a 90-team college style league, which has its own end-of-season tournament and a bracket for your own predictions on the outcome.

Also added in this update is a new Easy Mode, which grants you the ability to see the AI's plans in advance, this gives new players sizeable help for learning the game.

In celebration of this update Mode 7 Games are giving everyone 30% off the game on Steam, offer ending on the 14th May.

Sony Has Let Slip Next Month's PS Plus Lineup Thu, 30 Oct 2014 11:44:28 -0400 Adam Koziol

Looks like someone working for Sony is going to be in trouble as a video detailing November's free PS Plus games has been released early. The publisher has since pulled the leaked trailer but we've got a copy which you can watch above. Every month, Sony offers PlayStation fans free games as a reward for their continued subscription to the company's premium online service. As usual, November's PS Plus line up consists of 6 games, two each for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

The first game in the video is The Binding of Issac: Rebirth, a Zelda-inspired action game from the Super Meat Boy developers. The other free PS4 game is the 2D actions title SteamWorld Dig. Developed by Swedish indie studio Image & Form, the game stars a robot called Rusty who lives in the Wild West.

PS3 owners are getting the top-down shooter/strategy game Frozen Synapse Prime.  Set in a dystopian cyberpunk future, players assume the role of a tactical commander, leading a small group of rebel troops against a corporate government regime. For those players who want a more action based experience,  Sony has them covered with Luftrausers, a 2D arcade title about piloting a small plane against hundreds of enemies.

Finally there are the PS Vita games. The Hungry Horde tasks the player with controlling a group of zombies to infect as many people as possible, while Escape Plan is a monochrome puzzle game that heavily relies on the Vita's touchscreen.

All 6 games will be available on November 4. However, as the leaked video was specifically for North American PlayStation fans, we'll have to wait for the official announcement to see if the European line up is the same. Use the comment section below to let us know what you think of this selection.
