1. Gather around for story time

In this colorful scene from Oboro Keiskue, everyone is enjoying their time with a good book. Alice is the center of the piece where everyone looks on with full attention. The bright colors and the illumination of the pages draw upon the fact that Alice is in control.

In the end, we really enjoy the fan art inspired by Odin Sphere and it's various characters. Do you agree with the list? Do you have better examples of fan art?

Let us know in the comments below!

2.  Alice and Socrates enjoy story time

Here, Kaworu give us a lovely painting of a girl and her cat.

In soft colors, portraying a peaceful mood, they enjoy a story together. The positioning of her cat adds to the curiosity displayed by Alice herself. Whose story is she reading? Does she like the story?

3. Velvet will entrap you

This image is a favorite because of the colors that compliment the mysterious Velvet. The shades of red conveys danger and her trying to entrance you. Will she impale you? Will she capture you? Who knows, but artist yugume has created this deadly dance you'd want to see.

4. Oswald and the feather

In this artwork by Oboro Keisuke, we see the dark knight in a rare moment of deep thought. With the image being purposely black and white, what is the significance of the blue feather? Does this calm his heart? Is he longing for something lost?

The use of color, or lack thereof, makes this an interesting piece.

5. Mercedes and friends

This whimsical image was brought to you by artist, NYO.

Here, we see Mercedes enjoying time with her friends — a frog and a dragon. After all, why wouldn't they be friends with a fairy? The pastel colors and the simple designs make her appear more childlike and innocent.

6. Mercedes in the rain

Fairy or not, Akr has given us a quiet moment we could all sympathize with.

With this wonderful piece of art, Mercedes is truly in her element. The colors appear water washed to capture the look of heavy rain. The fairy looks on wistfully, waiting out the bad weather in her forest.

7. Cornelius stalks his prey

Here, Bun-o has created an image that invokes quite a few thoughts.

Is our hero scared? Is this Cerberus looking for a meal? How fast will Cornelius see the beast slain at his feet? The deft use of light reveals that he is the predator waiting for the beast to come within striking distance.

8. Cornelius' swordplay

The Pooka warrior strikes a powerful pose in this piece by Noxypia.

This is a favorite because of the skillful use of the blue to illuminate both the blade and the hero. The image also conveys his athleticism despite his small stature. Also, he looks rather menacing, even though he's unfortunately and ridiculously cute.

9. Gwendolyn in action

This next piece finds our mighty Valkyrie in a more action-focused scene. This scene, created by Nikkon, depicts her colorful face-off against a dragon. The art is a creative juxtaposition of the fight and to the older background.

This is a page from a storybook, which is fitting considering the game is a book being read by a child.

10. Gwendolyn alone

We begin our list with this piece dedicated to the Valkyrie, Gwendolyn, created by the artist Retsuna. Here we see our heroine basking in a moment of silence alone.

Is she reading to herself prior to smiting foes? Is she running away? Whatever it may be, the color palette presented here really accentuates her wings and demeanor.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir released earlier this week for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. And as evidenced by the in-game sprites and character art, it's certainly a beautiful game. The art is designed by the game's artist and director, George Kamatani, whose work has gone on to inspire a lot of fan art.

Here's a list of our top 10 favorite renditions.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir's has been set for release on the Japanese PlayStation Network with an official date announced for January 14, 2016. This is not a new game, but an HD remake of the original Odin Sphere that was released for the PlayStation 2 back in 2007.

According to the developers the game was originally supposed to be ported over to the 7th and 8th generation consoles, but ended up getting a full remake with additional content such as a new game plus mode called "Xtra New Game" which will (obviously) let players start a new game carrying over all of their previous items and abilities.

A new difficulty has also been added, allowing players to to attempt difficulty where their HP will never go above 200, regardless of how much they level. There will also be a Boss Rush mode, which pits players in a 1:1 battle with a level 50 boss for 30 rounds, giving them a different boss every time. There are no checkpoints and the item box is not available for use while playing this mode.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir will release on January 14th for in Japan with a western release set on Spring 2016 for the PSVita, PS3 and the PS4. Pre-orders are already available at the official Atlus website.

This past Monday on July 20th it was announced on a NicoNico live broadcast that Atlus and Vanillaware have officially made plans to collaborate on a "new genuine/classic HD project."

Vanillaware is a video game development company founded by former employees of Atlus, including game director George Kamitani.  Their most noteworthy work so far is Odin Sphere, also a collaboration with Atlus, for which there will soon be an HD remake.  (It is possibly due to their focus on this HD remake that the new and not even yet named HD project is still in the early stages.)  Development is still underway and Atlus and Vanillaware do not yet have many concrete details to share.

Following the broadcast announcement, a brief teaser video was also released, publicly revealing the existence of the new project. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until September for more information on what to expect from this upcoming game.

Odin Sphere HD Remake is on the way https://www.gameskinny.com/fn6ta/odin-sphere-hd-remake-is-on-the-way https://www.gameskinny.com/fn6ta/odin-sphere-hd-remake-is-on-the-way Tue, 21 Jul 2015 20:42:11 -0400 Dalton White I

Atlus and Vanillaware have announced this week that they will be working together to bring gamers an HD remake of Odin Sphere and will be called Odin Sphere: Leiftrasir.

The original Odin Sphere was released in 2007 on the PS2 and was praised for its gorgeous visuals, lovely musical score and deep gameplay. This HD remake will be released on the PS3, PS4 and PS Vita and will offer more than just enhanced visuals. OS: Leiftrasir will have new enemies, bosses and the combat system and gameplay will be enhanced. It seems this HD Remake will also have new features to make the gameplay smoother and quicker, which was a complaint with the original game.

One example of big changes that will be implemented is that the 2D scrolling movement gameplay from the original will be available in “Classic Mode” but it seems that there will be an updated version for those new to the game.

Tragedy strikes in Odin Sphere

In Odin Sphere, prepare to cry at the gorgeous visuals and the tragic and touching plot.

Odin Sphere: Leiftrasir has been confirmed for a release on January 14th, 2015 in Japan. Nothing has been said about an international release, but its likely as we get closer to the Japanese release date Atlus and Vanillaware will give us a western release date.

Dragon's Crown is the next title from Vanillaware, developer of Muramasa and Odin Sphere. The game features the same breath-taking graphical style as the studio's other titles, and is making its way to the PlayStation 3 and Vita.

The trailer was shown during last night's Vita web presentation, during which a price cut for the handheld was announced. According to the Japanese Atlus Twitter, more details on Dragon's Crown will be revealed in March.
