Pr Newswire Tagged Articles RSS Feed | Pr Newswire RSS Feed on en Launch Media Network Mark your calendar for April 5th, Quantum Break is coming. Sun, 27 Mar 2016 09:15:49 -0400 Sagger Khraishi

We've known about Quantum Break since around the time that Xbox One launched, but the developers have kept us in the dark about its development process. They even pushed it back a year, causing it to dissolve into one of those ghost stories we tell about games that have disappeared into the Abyss. Every so often a trailer would appear to remind us that it still exists... stuck somewhere in time. But now it seems like it the game will finally break out into the world like some mad science project on April 5th.

This makes sense given the premise of the game. Set in the northeast United States, the game casts you as the protagonist Jack Joyce. Being part of a weird H.G. Wells style time travel experiment that backfired, you gain these really cool time-related abilities. You can freeze time and still move around, move projectiles, or people in harms way. It is kind of like that running scene in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

You will need to travel through and fix temporal distortions around the map that might get in the way of your objectives. You need to do this before the enemy, your ex-best friend Paul Serene, tries to take advantage of the situation and claim global dominance.

If you aren't sold already, another important feature of this game is that the actions you take have a bit of a butterfly effect on everything else. This isn't in the Skyrim way where killing xyz causes his kids to hold a grudge against you. Instead, it's something more akin to one of those Goosebumps "choose-your-adventure" type stories. As you play the game, the choices you make change the live action cut-scenes and the plot of the story.

It's been two years since we first heard of the game, but it looks like we will be delivered a powerhouse of game design and approach that can change the way we approach games when this launches. So pre-order your copy for April 5th, and let us know what you think of the game here.

Did you hear the news you were hoping for? Did anything blow your mind, foregoing your imagination. Let us know in the comments; and remember today several pieces of Nintendo history were made.

Super Smash Bros

For some this is the biggest piece of NEWS this year. Fans of Final Fantasy and Smash Bros will be pleased that one of the most requested characters has been announced. Cloud Strife is here with his buster sword and a new stage in tow. There are no dates on when he will be available, but we were told to expect news in early December. Have fun playing matches to the classic Final Fantasy theme song that will also be included.

The Wii U has not been totally abandoned by third party developers. There are still quite a few games coming to the console.

Hive Jump- Q1 2016

Kerbal Space Program- Q1 2016

Mighty No. 9- 2/9/2016

Lego Marvels Avengers- 1/26/2016

Terarria 4/12/2016

Dragon Quest: VII & VIII

Both games were announced and are set to release next year.

Hyrule Warriors: Legends

Another bevy of good news; Hyrule Warriors: Legends gives us much to look forward too. A new original character was announced; a girl named Linkle that uses double crossbows. She is the first female version of Link. The release date was announced as March 25, 2016. You will also get a new home menu theme for your 3DS when you purchase the game.

Pokemon: Blue, Red, and Yellow

We were all blindsided by this one. All three of the first generation Pokemon games are coming to the eshop. The games will be true to their original versions sans one feature; players no longer need a link cable to trade Pokemon. You can now use wifi to trade and battle with your friends. These release the same day as the originals did twenty years ago -- February 27, 2016.

MegaMan: Legacy Collection

A collection of the first six MegaMan games; this title offers a lot of content for fans to collect in game. The game will have exclusive challenges that can only be accessed using a MegaMan amiibo. On that note there was also a new gold colored Megaman amiibo announced. It can only be obtained by purchasing a copy of the game's collector's edition. The game is available February 23, 2016.

Final Fantasy: Fates

Fans already knew the game would be releasing in two parts simultaneously. But today all the options for obtaining all three games was revealed. After completing one of the two launch games players will be given the choice to purchase the other game as half price. There is also a bundle available, as well a collectors edition that comes with an art-book and carrying pouch for your DS. This is available for $79.99. Other DLC maps are also planned for the games.

Final Fantasy Explorers

This game was initially released in Japan last December and has received a few updates since. The North American version of the game will gave players access to all of the game's released DLC free of charge. There is also a collectors edition releasing. It will include the game, an art-book, a CD sampler. and exclusive quests. Pick this up on January 26, 2016

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam

A release date of January 22, 2016 was announced. If you love Mario RPG's then you need this title. New battle cards with effects to help you get past tricky levels and challenges were revealed. You can use your amiibo to create character cards which are more powerful than battle cards. Mario party amiibos will be compatible with this tittle.

Pokken Tournament

The fighting game everyone is waiting for received some new footage. It was also revealed how players would be able to access the Shadow Mewtwo character that leaked a while back. If your copy is from the first production run; players will receive a special card that allows them to use the character immediately. If not, players can complete a few things in game and use him later. The game releases Spring 2016 for Wii U.

StarFox Zero

Starfox Zero was finally given a new release date. After being pushed back from this holiday season, the game is now slated to release April 22, 2016. Mark your calendars now, people.

Of course these popular little trinkets were center stage. Almost every game had a mention of them. We also received a release date for some of the Animal crossing and the Lucas figures -- January 22nd

There are also four great new games coming to the Nintendo eShop. Nintendo is obviously eyeing its casual gamer market.

  • Typo Man-November 19th
  • \n
  • Fast Racing Neo-December
  • \n
  • Steam World Heist-December
  • \n
  • Pokemon Picross-December
  • \n

Nintendo Badge Arcade

A free to start title, this game gives you badges to customize your 3DS home screen. Collect the badges using a claw game. Players can pay to receive more chances to collect the badges. Some badges will be limited edition, so make sure you check back often if this is something you are interested in.

Xenoblade Chronicles X

For those waiting on a new Metroid or Legend of Zelda game this is the best Nintendo is offering; an open world space adventure that will release on December 4th. If buying the game physically, there are four packs that can be pre-installed to allow the player to load up the game faster. It is recommended to download the first pack at the least.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash

An all-new move was revealed for this game. Performing a jump smash will allow players to jump up and attack the ball before it has had a chance to bounce on their side. This will add a new layer of strategy to matches. Knock your opponent off balance then use the jump smash from the designated point to perform an ultra smash.

There are also mega battles where Toad will add mega Mushrooms to the match to make characters larger; how exciting? Add in amiibos to use as a partner in online and expedition matches.

Animal Crossing amiibo Festival

This game will initially launch packaged with two amiibos and will be the only way to acquire the Isabelle and Digby amiibos. Digby will be even more exclusive as he is only available with the launch copy of the game. Some of the games puzzles and game modes were also showcased.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon

This game will release on November 20th and feature every single known Pokemon.  The new connection orb will allow you to send and receive rescue requests. The game will also come with a free theme for your 3DS.

Super Mario Maker

A new portal site was announced that will allow you to search for particular levels on your PC or mobile device. Search for the type of level you wish to play or bookmark one you find while browsing.

The Legend of Zelda Tri-Force Heroes.

A free update is being developed that will add the Den of Trials areas. Unlike normal dungeons where there might be 4 challenges, these levels will have an overwhelming amount at 30 plus! Did we mention that you and your team must defeat every single enemy in a stage to move on to the next one. But don't be discouraged; the den has checkpoints littered throughout to help you make it a little further.

New outfits are also planned: Linebeck's Uniform, which will let you see inside of chest before opening them, and The Fierce Deity Armor, which will make your sword fire off beams in four different directions.

These are both free updates that will release on December 2nd.

Zelda Wii U

New gameplay footage for this tittle was shown after the reveal of Twilight Princes HD. The new WolfLink amiibo will have an effect when used with this game.

The release window was not updated and the game is still slated for a Wii U release sometime in 2016.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

After a weeks of speculation and rumor, Twilight  Princess HD received an official announcement. The first announcement of the event included enhanced visuals, a new wolf Link amiibo, and other enhanced features. This will be a fun experience even for those who have played this classic a few times. The game will also be compatible with other amiibos from the smash series. Twilight Princess HD releases March 4th 2016. Preorder now to receive the official soundtrack for free.

Did you miss the Nintendo Direct event? Here's a recap of all that was announced earlier this week. Everything Nintendo has planned through early 2016 now has a release date. If you're a Nintendo fan, there is much to celebrate.

PlayStation 4 to Outperform Xbox One by 40 Percent by 2019, says Strategy Analytics Thu, 19 Feb 2015 05:17:02 -0500 PR Newswire

BOSTON, Feb. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- With the PlayStation 4 (PS4), Sony is on a path to reproduce the success of the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii, having shipped 18.5 million units in its first year as total Game Console shipments grew 11 percent year-on-year in 2014 to 34 million units. According to Strategy Analytics' Connected Home Devices (CHD) report, "Year One Shipments Show Strength of Console Gaming," the global installed base of Sony's PS4 is predicted to reach 80 million units by 2019, compared to 57 million for Microsoft's Xbox One, giving the PS4 a lead of 40 percent.

  • Sony shipped 18.5 million PlayStation 4 units, far outpacing the 10.5 million units shipped in the first year of PS3 availability, nearly matching the 20.1 million units PS2 shipped during the same period of time.
  • Microsoft shipped 12.4 million Xbox One units, cruising past the 10.4 million Xbox 360 units shipped in its first year, but mirroring some of the difficulties of the PS3 launch, such as a high price point.
  • The struggling Nintendo Wii U is following in the footsteps of the GameCube, having shipped only 5.9 million units in its first year of availability, but appears to be staging a modest comeback with the release of several key first-party titles.

Eric Smith, Senior Analyst, Connected Home Devices, said, "Despite reports to the contrary, the Game Console market is not dead. Core gamers have moved faster to this current generation than in any previous generation. The main difference in this generation is that casual gamers who bought a Wii are remaining largely on the side lines as free-to-play casual games and mid-core games on Tablets and Smartphones have captured this segment of consumers."

Michael Goodman, Service Director, Digital Media Strategies, added, "Strong Year One shipments and a quickly growing installed base for PS4 and Xbox One are proving that Game Consoles are still an essential part of the ecosystem. While cloud gaming may appear to obviate the need for expensive hardware at first blush, the more likely scenario will be an enhancement to hardware allowing for very powerful current generation game rendering locally and backward compatibility to large game libraries in the cloud."

Gratuitous Space Battles 2 Preview Fri, 13 Feb 2015 05:47:15 -0500 Stephen F. Johnston

Gratuitous Space Battles II is the sequel to Gratuitous Space Battles, in case that wasn't obvious. The quirky, unique space battle game returns in the second installment with upgraded features such as online play, modding, visual upgrades, and visual customization options while maintaining the core explode-y space battle gameplay that made the original so much fun.

The version I am playing is only in beta, so I'm not doing an official review quite yet.

Gratuitous Space Battles II focuses on huge space battles with ships that the player creates from parts won through encounters. At times, GSB2 feels like an RTS, but it's more of an "automaton strategy game." The goal is to win each engagement with the smallest fleet possible. The player creates the formations, picks the styles and types of ships to use and gives the units general orders, but the player has no direct control during the battle. The battle plays out completely hands off. The UI does give you the ability to move around, zoom in and out, and to speed up time as well as to view ship performance data during the battle.

Fleet Construction is Key

Ships range in size from fighters to dreadnaughts in a typical naval style: bigger equals more guns and more armor. Each gun, engine, armor, and other items you add takes up resources on the ship in some combination of power, crew, and hardpoints. The player is primarily tasked with maximizing these values for each ship in a way that compliments the other ships in their fleet while maximizing damage-dealing potential.

In a typical engagement you evaluate the types of ships the enemy is fielding, then place your fleet down, then run the battle. Then you either win or evaluate why your fleet didn't succeed. You move forward in the engagements if you win or adjust your fleet if you lose. Shipbuilding is its own minigame and each battle you win gives you honor points that can be spent on better items for your ships. You do have to beat your previous score on a mission to get more honor points (this keeps you from farming the easier early missions).

Ship Building - A Game in Itself

Shipbuilding is the process of balancing crew requirements, power availability and hull limitations to create a ship design that compliments your other designs and also holds its own. During the preview, I've spent an hour sending a single dreadnaught against an entire mission until I was able to maximize its solo survivability and damage output. This was with my goal of creating a dreadnaught that could act as the central nucleus of other more specific ship types. Someone else might create three variations of dreadnaught and then compliment them with other frigates. In the below

Someone else might create 3 variations of dreadnaught and then compliment them with other frigates. In the below images you can see the wide variety of ship sizes and visuals.

The Massive Dreadnaught

Another new feature is GSB2 is the ability to paint your ships. This new ability takes fleet customization in a visuals only direction that adds to the overhaul of visual capabilities the game provides. I'm confident that there are two types of gamers: those who will fly completely unpainted ships (possibly forever) and those who will spend hours attending to every visual detail.

Ship Painting: Woot!

In summary, this game is a quirky gem built by one developer, and the UI at times could use some polish since there seems to be quite a few unnecessary clicks. The game has depth, but is laser focused on the spaces battles and their visuals.

There is plenty of gameplay here, but GSB2 epitomizes the indie development scene in mostly good ways, but also the quirks. The result is a unique and quirky game, but if this sort of thing hooks you then you'll love it. You can get the beta when you pre-order the game. If a beta isn't your thing, wait for our full review after the game is released.

THIRTEEN's Award-Winning History Game Series Mission US Launches Its Fourth Virtual Adventure for Teens Thu, 12 Feb 2015 05:14:29 -0500 PR Newswire

NEW YORK, Feb. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- THIRTEEN announces the launch of "City of Immigrants," the fourth interactive experience in the award-winning Mission US series of free, digital role-playing games created to engage middle and high school students in the exploration and understanding of U.S. history.

"City of Immigrants" debuts on February 11, 2015 and supports the study of immigration, the labor movement, and cultural identity in the American History curriculum. Players take on the role of Lena Brodsky, a Russian Jewish teen who has recently immigrated to New York City in 1907. As Lena makes the Lower East Side her home, she struggles to help support her family and finds herself in the middle of the growing labor movement.

"Mission US is part of the digital transformation sweeping the educational landscape, giving students new and powerful ways to explore historical and cultural issues. Through the four role-playing games, young people can explore history in an engaging and personalized way, making it memorable and meaningful," said Neal Shapiro, president and CEO of WNET.

As young people play "City of Immigrants," they gain important insights into the struggle for safe working conditions, fair wages, and the right to bargain collectively. At the same time, they experience the challenges of cultural differences, assimilation, and prejudice. Players will interact with a variety of characters, from factory supervisors to family and religious leaders, who all had roles in creating America's labor movement and strong communities in New York. As they assume the role of Lena, players must decide: Does she dare speak up and stand up for workers' rights? Can she continue to support her family? Players will make choices and experience the consequences of those choices the same choices immigrants grappled with as they made their way in the "land of opportunity."

The content for "City of Immigrants" was developed by a team of historians and educators at the American Social History Project (ASHP)/Center for Media & Learning, a research center at the Graduate Center, City University of New York, in partnership with the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, which consulted on historical content for the game and development of educators materials. The Museum building and its artifacts also served as models for design of the game's locations, costumes, and props. THIRTEEN worked with Electric Funstuff, an educational software company that specializes in using gaming approaches and multimedia techniques to create effective learning experiences, to design, develop, and produce the game. Formative research was conducted by Education Development Center's Center for Children and Technology.

Accompanying curriculum activities and rich supplemental resources including maps, personal narratives, cultural artifacts and more will help students understand the historical context of the period. Educators and players at home can access Mission US "City of Immigrants" via streaming and download at

The Mission US series of role-playing games engage young people in the exploration, discovery, and understanding of U.S. history. Research has shown that, by assuming the roles of peers from the past, students develop a more personal, memorable, and meaningful connection with complex historical content and context. The first game in the series, "For Crown or Colony?" puts players in the role of a 14-year-old printer's apprentice in 1770 Boston. "Flight to Freedom," the second in the series, gives students an unforgettable experience as a 14-year-old enslaved young woman who escapes to the North in 1848. In "A Cheyenne Odyssey" students "live the life" of Little Fox, a fictional member of the Northern Cheyenne tribe, who must learn to adapt to all the impacts of westward expansion in 1866. A fifth mission about the challenges of the Great Depression is currently in development.

For educators, each Mission US game includes a collection of educator-developed resources. These materials, like the games themselves, are available at no cost and include document-based questions, primary sources, class activities, vocabulary builders, standards alignments, writing prompts and visual aids. Professional development videos help teachers integrate the games into the curriculum successfully.

Mission USnow proudly serves more than 950,000 registered users, including 860,000 young people and 42,000 teachers. It is part of a larger initiative by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) under its American History and Civics Initiative to evaluate the potential benefits of digital history games for student learning.

Mission US has earned a Parents' Choice Award, Common Sense Media ON for Learning Award, a Gold Medal from the International Serious Play Awards, and a Webby Award Official Honoree designation. "A Cheyenne Odyssey"received the 2014 Games for Change Award for Most Significant Impact. "Flight to Freedom"won the 2013 Japan Prize Competition, honoring the best in educational media.

Mission US is produced by THIRTEEN Productions LLC in association with WNET. Sandra Sheppard THIRTEEN's director of children's and educational media, is the executive-in charge. Jill Peters is executive producer. Michelle Chen is producer. Funding for Mission US is provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting with additional support from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Educational outreach support is provided by The Page & Otto Marx, Jr. Foundation and Atran Foundation.

SEATTLE, Jan. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --CarQuiz Math Game is the talk of the internet: parents rave, the project was featured on Cult of Mac, and their Kickstarter is 75% funded. Many children struggle with math. Some may even find it scary. Smile More Studios wants to challenge those who dislike math to imagine math as a monster, draw that monster and release it in to the wild!

"Don't like math? Do you tremble when you see a math equation? Release your fear of math and draw! From Jan 25 to Feb 25, 2015, Smile More Studios is holding a CONTEST to see who can create the scariest math monster! Draw the monster that you think of when you think of math, and you could win up to 100 copies of CarQuiz for your school, a 3d print of your monster or the ultimate reward - the 'I conquered the Math Monster' trophy!"

Parents, have your child draw his or her inner math monster and submit it. Artistry is not required, but bravery is! Smile More Studios will share select drawings and award prizes in several categories. And long after the contest is over, Scott Martin, co-designer of CarQuiz, believes kids will return to the game again and again.

"If a game is fun and challenging to us, while we can also steadily advance, and be awarded for that progress, then we're hooked! Can we apply these same rewards and challenges to learning math? We think it's possible and we've developed a game that we feel can get kids to play again and again."

Hopefully with a few less math monsters roaming the earth!

"The biggest monster we face now as a development team is our final stage of polish and testing. It is also a challenge to get a fan base behind a game not yet available. We are on track with releasing CarQuiz and it is testing very well. We hope the contest will draw attention to the game and help people release their fear of math!"

CarQuiz builds skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It helps players memorize their number facts, and for parents, helps identify trouble areas with math. Join Smile More Studios on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with the latest game developments.

LG To Introduce World's First 21:9 Gaming Monitor With AMD FreeSync At CES 2015 Tue, 30 Dec 2014 17:47:44 -0500 PR Newswire

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Dec. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics (LG) today announced plans to introduce the world's first 21:9 "UltraWide" gaming monitor compatible with AMD FreeSync technology for fluid motion during fast gameplay.

The new monitor headlines LG's expanded lineup being unveiled next week at the 2015 International CES and further solidifies the company's leadership in the growing 21:9 segment, which caters to the digital imaging, business professional and gaming markets. Based on IDC's Worldwide Quarterly PC Monitor Tracker, LG is the world sales leader in this monitor segment over the last seven fiscal quarters (as of the third quarter of 2014) with a market share of 77.3 percent of the world's 21:9 monitors.

21:9 UltraWide Gaming Monitor with AMD FreeSync Technology
LG's UltraWide Gaming Monitor (34UM67) is the company's first 21:9 monitor specifically developed for graphics-intensive gaming. AMD's FreeSync technology eliminates the screen tearing that occurs when the monitor and graphics card are out of sync. Furthermore FreeSync technology guarantees the smoothest and most seamless gaming experience, generating fluid motion without any loss of frame rate.

"AMD FreeSync technology is an innovative monitor technology, based on free and open industry standards, to eliminate the tearing and stuttering that has plagued PC gaming for 30 years," said Roy Taylor, corporate vice president of ISV/IHV Partner Group, AMD. "We are pleased that LG Electronics stands with us with truly exciting AMD FreeSync-ready displays like the LG UltraWide Gaming Monitor."

The 34UM67 also has an exceptional UltraWide field of view (FOV), allowing gamers to gain the upper hand by revealing hidden spaces that were invisible on regular 16:9 monitors. The monitor's Black Stabilizer illuminates dark scenes and helps to clearly define the deep black areas where objects and enemies could be hidden. The Dynamic Action Sync mode minimizes input lag, enhancing users' real time gaming experience. Many popular games such as Battlefield 4, World of Warcraft and ArcheAge currently support 21:9 resolution with more games expected to support this resolution in the future.

World's First Curved 34-inch 21:9 Monitor with Extensive Screen
LG's curved 34-inch UltraWide monitor (34UC97) in Quad HD resolution (3440 x 1440) makes maximum use of its wide screen real estate. It allows creative professionals, such as graphic designers or photographers, to look at more images as thumbnails and media creators to see longer video image sequences or graphical representations of sound. The monitor is compatible with Thunderbolt 2, which allows for Mac users to take advantage of its high-speed bulk data transfers. And for gamers, the curved display provides a more immersive experience.

The monitor's 178-degree viewing angle of the In-Plane Switching (IPS) display recreates colors across over 99 percent of the sRGB color space, so there is no color distortion at any angle. Minecraft: Story Mode will be an all-new narrative-driven, episodic game series, developed by Telltale in collaboration with Mojang and members of the Minecraft community. Set in the world of Minecraft, the game series will introduce new characters and familiar themes, but will be an entirely original Minecraft experience inspired by the game that continues to inspire a generation.

"Partnering with Mojang is a dream come true for us as game makers and as storytellers," saidKevin Bruner, President and Co-Founder of Telltale Games. "Minecraft is a world of infinite possibility and imagination. Working with the Mojang team on our own unique, story-driven interpretation of their fascinating universe is a tremendous honor. SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading and award-winning developer and publisher of digital entertainment Telltale Games and HBO Global Licensing today announced the release of'Iron From Ice,'the first of six episodes ofGame of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series.

Based on the award-winning HBO television drama series,Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Seriestells the story of House Forrester. Caught up in the events of The War of the Five Kings, they are placed in a precarious position where members of the household must do everything they can to prevent the house from meeting its doom.

The season premiere episode is available today on PC and Mac from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, and on the PlayStationNetwork for PlayStation 4 in North America (SCEA). The episode will be available on Wednesday, December 3rd on the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One and Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, as well as the PlayStationNetwork for PlayStation 4 in European (SCEE) territories. The series will also be coming to compatible iOS devices via the App Store on Thursday, December 4th and to Android-based devices later this month. The premiere will also be coming to PlayStationNetwork for PlayStation 3 in North America (SCEA) and European territories (SCEE) on December 9th. Follow Telltale Games on Twitter and Facebook for the latest details on release dates.

"HBO's Game of Thrones series is absolutely among the best television dramas of our time," said Dan Connors, CEO and co-founder of Telltale Games. "Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series will expand upon a world already epic in scope and detail, giving fans of the franchise an opportunity to forge their own path as they interact with characters they know from the TV show, and new ones from House Forrester and beyond."

Some cast members of the television series will reprise their roles in the game. While players will control five members of House Forrester in their story, the series will have them interacting with fan favorite characters throughout the season, including Tyrion Lannister performed by Peter Dinklage, Cersei Lannister performed by Lena Headey, Margaery Tyrell performed by Natalie Dormer, and Ramsay Snow performed by Iwan Rheon. Additional cast members will appear in later episodes.

The game series is based on the world, characters and events seen in HBO's TV show, which in turn is based on George R. R. Martin's books (A Song of Ice and Fire). The events in the game series begin towards the end of Season Three of the series, and end right before the beginning of Season Five. Players will visit familiar locations such as King's Landing and The Wall, as well as unfamiliar locations such as Ironrath, the home of House Forrester.

"We're always looking for new ways to keep our fans engaged with and immersed in the world of Game of Thrones," said Josh Goodstadt, Vice President of Global Licensing for HBO. "This game is going to open up the story like never before. We're very excited for fans to finally have the chance to play it."

House Forrester is a noble house from the Wolfswood in the north of Westeros. Bannermen to House Glover, they have always offered unswerving loyalty to the ruling great house of the North - the Starks. The Forresters are seated at Ironrath, an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees. Built over fifteen hundred years ago by Cedric Forrester and his triplet sons, Ironrath is a testament to the strength and endurance of ironwood. The Forrester house words are 'Iron from Ice', which echoes their belief that - like the ironwood itself - the adverse conditions and unforgiving landscape of the North only makes them stronger.

The game will be played from five different points of view. Each is either a direct Forrester family member, or a person in service to the House. Scattered across Westeros and Essos, each will play their part in seeking to save House Forrester from destruction.

Playing as five characters not only reflects the epic scope ofGame of Thrones, but is also something that the player needs to be mindful of. The actions of one character can ripple out to affect the rest of House Forrester. Multiply the actions of one character by five, and you're trulyplaying the Game of Thrones... where you win, or you die.

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series Episode 1: 'Iron from Ice' is rated 'M' (Mature) for Intense Violence, Blood and Gore, and Strong Language by the ESRB. Future content in the series is yet to be rated by the ESRB.
