And with numerous 1st place winnings under his name, he's grown to become quite a threat. Fortunately for the organization, he will be joining other high profile competitors in representing Panda Global Gaming at future Smash 4 tournaments.

Street Fighter V will have its final beta this weekend from 12:01am PT January on 30th until 3:00am PT January 31st. Apparently F.A.N.G will be the only player not returning to the beta. No new features have been announced for this final beta either.

March is when fans can expect the first DLC, giving players ample time to earn in-game currency to buy the new characters and play through the story.

The story mode will reveal background for each character, their relationship with other characters, and how they relate to the plot as a whole. A free DLC  that will expand the story will be released in June that bridges Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV. The expansion will contain "cinematic experiences" which will be a first for the Street Fighter franchise.

Pre-order Street Fighter V to play the final beta and get some exclusive costumes.

For Street Fighter enthusiasts, a Street Fighter V Collector's Edition is being sold for $99.99 at GameStop and on Amazon

At San Diego Comic-Con, Capcom released the reveal trailer for their newest Street Fighter V combatant, Ken Masters. While the other Street Fighter II veterans have remained constant in their design. Capcom has given Ken a massive re-design.

While he still has his signature blonde hair. Ken now has an overall older and more grizzled look. He also sports a new hairstyle, and a new black and red outfit.

While Ken's basic "shoto" skills (Hadoken, Shoryuken, etc.) are kept intact, he now boasts a host of new skills that seem to hint at Ken being a powerful offense-oriented character. A flaming dive kick, a flame counter, and flame dash are just a few of the new abilities given to Ryu's one-time clone.

At the end of the video an eighth character, who some fans believe is E. Honda, is briefly shown off, giving fans another reason to be excited for the PlayStation exclusive.

Street Fighter V is due for an early 2016 release. And has a PS4 Beta coming up on July 23!

Recap of Today's Super Smash Bros. Presentation! https://www.gameskinny.com/85xvf/recap-of-todays-super-smash-bros-presentation https://www.gameskinny.com/85xvf/recap-of-todays-super-smash-bros-presentation Sun, 14 Jun 2015 21:31:39 -0400 KungFro

In case you missed it, here's everything Masahiro Sakurai announced during today's special Super Smash Bros. presentation. All of this information pertains to Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

A major software update has been released!

This is extremely important in order to access any content beyond this point!

3 New Fighters!
  1. Lucas (Mother 3) - returning veteran from Super Smash Bros. Brawl
  2. Roy (Fire Emblem) - returning veteran from Super Smash Bros. Melee
  3. Ryu (Street Fighter) - brand new challenger and 3rd party character

Lucas was already officially revealed by Nintendo prior to this presentation, but this is the first time Nintendo has officially revealed Roy and Ryu. The two were leaked last month by Reddit user shinyquagsire23, but now we've got solid proof of their existence and release date – which happens to be today! Both characters will be released alongside Lucas for purchase in the Nintendo eShop today, so expect some server traffic!

Ryu has two final smashes?!

Lots of work went into Ryu's design, such as him being able to perform light, medium, and heavy attacks based on the duration of the player's inputs. He can also perform some of his special moves with either the usual B button combinations, or the moves' original Street Fighter inputs. Did I mention that he's also the first character in Smash history to have two final smashes?

New Mii Fighter costumes!
  1. Akira Yuki (Virtua Fighter)
  2. Jacky Bryant (Virtua Fighter)
  3. Heihachi Mishima (Tekken)
  4. Isabelle (Animal Crossing)
  5. Megaman.EXE (Mega Man Battle Network)
  6. ZERO (Mega Man X)
  7. Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy & Squid Hat (Splatoon)

New Stages! (Omega forms included!)

Suzaku Castle is a new Street Fighter stage to accompany Ryu, complete with classic and remixed themes from the Street Fighter series.

Dreamland (64) from the original Super Smash Bros. is returning alongside all of today's DLC content. The stage retains its original look, though it was cleaned up a bit to better match the quality expected of the new games.

The new Miiverse stage is exclusive to the Wii U version of the game, and will feature player posts about the characters within each match. This stage is completely free of charge.

Two other stages from the original Super Smash Bros. game, Hyrule Castle and Peach's Castle, are confirmed to be in the works. Expect them to be released at some point in the future.

All things Amiibo!

September releases: R.O.B.Duck Hunt, and Mr. Game & Watch
Holiday release: Falco
Undated releases: Mii BrawlerMii Swordfighter, and Mii Gunner

MewtwoLucasRoy, and Ryu are all confirmed to receive amiibos in the future, as the entire Smash roster will eventually have amiibo figures.

New Trophies!

The update comes with unlockable trophies for all of the new characters. All they require to be unlocked is to beat All-Star mode with the respective character. There is also a new Splatoon trophy, as well as one for Street Fighter's Ken Masters.

Tourney Mode & YouTube Replays!

Tourney Mode is set for release as a free update in August.

YouTube replays will eventually be released as a free feature exclusive to the Wii U version of the game, allowing any user with a Google account to upload their replays directly to YouTube.

And there you have it! Everything that has been confirmed for the Smash series is listed here. The prices of all content can be found through the source link.

Roy and Ryu Smash Bros. DLC confirmed? https://www.gameskinny.com/hw8sj/roy-and-ryu-smash-bros-dlc-confirmed https://www.gameskinny.com/hw8sj/roy-and-ryu-smash-bros-dlc-confirmed Sat, 13 Jun 2015 08:06:50 -0400 CallSignDriver

Back in April, we reported that Reddit user shinyquagsire23 discovered surprising details in the decrypted 1.06 update for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. This month, videos have surfaced practically confirming those details, but following Artsy Omni's sophisticated Rayman hoax, there's still an ounce of cautious skepticism in the air.

This new update comes in the form of an unlisted YouTube video by user TripleXero, which is an apparent character reveal montage for Street Fighter's Ryu Hayabusa. A second, regularly listed video exists thanks to YouTube user MemeScreen, which features Fire Emblem's Roy in the same way.

Both videos show characters on Smash Bros. stages from multiple angles, interacting with items and performing signature moves on other characters. I'd say that it's safe to put our skepticism aside, but until we get an official statement from Nintendo, I'm still a potential monkey's uncle.

Expect a confirmation by June 14th, when Nintendo hosts their E3 Super Smash Bros. livestream.

Just a reminder that this Sunday (June 14th), Masahiro Sakurai, the director behind Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, will be giving a "Special Video Presentation" about the "Smash 4" games.

What is there to present?

We already know that Lucas from Mother 3, a Smash veteran who debuted in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, shall be rejoining the new roster as DLC on this day. We also know that a new stage based on the Wii U's Miiverse and new Mii Fighter costumes – inspired by the new and largely popular Splatoon – are to be released as DLC alongside Lucas.

All of this new content is to be included in the presentation, but why call it a "Special Video Presentation" if we already know about everything that will be shown? Well, chances are we don't know everything.

There have been rumors circulating. *Cue potential spoilers?*

Word on the interwebs is that some extra sound files were found in the latest Smash 4 patch. These sound files, which happen to be victory themes, are believed to belong to two particular characters – a returning veteran and a newcomer. Who are they? None other than Roy, a Super Smash Bros. Melee veteran from the Fire Emblem series, and Street Fighter's own Ryu.

The rumored additions to the Smash 4 roster.

Nobody knows for sure if these claims have any merit, but Sakurai is a master of surprises – remember when the Wii Fit Trainer was revealed for Smash 4? All I know is that I am super excited to see what he has in store for us.

To catch the presentation, tune in here this Sunday, June 14th, at:
7:40am Pacific / 10:40am Eastern / 3:40pm UK / 4:40pm CET

Fire Emblem's Roy and Street Fighter's Ryu Likely the Next Smash Bros. DLC https://www.gameskinny.com/ss372/fire-emblems-roy-and-street-fighters-ryu-likely-the-next-smash-bros-dlc https://www.gameskinny.com/ss372/fire-emblems-roy-and-street-fighters-ryu-likely-the-next-smash-bros-dlc Thu, 16 Apr 2015 20:47:23 -0400 amaadify

Get ready to parry a Hadoken or two, because Ryu and Roy are joining the battle.

The latest Smash Bros for 3DS update has been decrypted thanks to Reddit user shinyquagsire23. Among other enhancement, the purpose for Update 1.06 was to prepare the game for upcoming DLC. Interestingly, sound files mentioning Roy and Ryu were found alongside those referencing Mewtwo and Lucas--two confirmed DLC characters. Mewtwo is due out as purchasable DLC on April 28th, and Lucas sometime this June. However, this is the first mention of the sword-wielding warrior and street fighter.

It's worth noting that there is already a "Roy" in the game--Bowser Jr.'s Koopaling alternate skin. However, it is certain that these files are not related to that character, as they include the same Fire Emblem victory theme used by Marth, Ike, and Lucina.

Additionally, the tune attached to Ryu's name is an exact match to his theme from Street Fighter II which you can listen to here

Of course, there is a slight possibility that these are just left over files from scrapped characters. This is unlikely, though, as shinyquagsire23 states that they were nowhere to be found in his decryption of the last update (1.05).

So, are you excited that Roy might finally make a return to the series? What do you think about Ryu's unexpected inclusion? Let us know in the comments below!
