The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross has experienced some big changes in the recent months, including the additions of new heroes, new events, and general system overhauls. All of it has changed the meta of the game, shaking up the entire roster tier list for The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross in 2021.

The priority of certain characters has changed in both PvE and PvP, as well as Death Matches. Be sure to check out the list below for a better idea of what's going to be relevant this new year.

SS-Tier Heroes

Red Zeldris
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Attribute: Strength
  • Location: Draw Hero

Red Zeldris is currently the most powerful Strength-based character in the Grand Cross. His attacks are the strongest and his defenses are the most reliable.

He is also an excellent team unit, who increases all basic stats of his allies by 6%. Zeldris also has an ability to deplete enemy move gauges and disable recovery skills.

Zeldris performs equally well in PvP matches, both geared and ungeared. Although he has no AoE abilities, his Spike skill can deal up to 840% damage to a single target, which is incredible.

Overall, this hero will never let you down even in the most complicated scenarios in both PvE and PvP.

Blue Lillia
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Attribute: Speed
  • Location: Draw Hero

While Zeldris is capable of depleting the ultimate move gauge of a single enemy, Blue Lillia can do the same trick but in an AoE fashion.

She actually combines a whole slew of abilities that are extremely useful, such as healing ability, decreasing skill ranks, removing debuffs, and many others. All this makes Lillia a terrific hero for both PvE and PvP modes.

Her Star Link ability also works like a pure damage AoE that hits all enemies with an attack power of up to 525% of base damage. This is a really powerful skill that can be used in combination with all of her debuff skills to a great effect.

S-Tier Heroes

Red Gowther
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Attribute: Strength
  • Location: Draw Hero, Coin Shop

One of the biggest advantages of Red Gowther is his ability to disable all enemy attack skills. This renders them completely useless in battles.

On the other hand, Gowther buffs all the skills of allies, which gives all of them a massive boost. He may not be as good in PvE as other heroes, but he is indispensible in PvP and Death Matches.

His Rewrite Light skill can also deplete an enemy's ultimate move gauge, which easily makes him a top-tier character.

Green Escanor
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Attribute: HP
  • Location: Draw Hero

This hero has one of the most unique abilities in the entire game: The Person Who Stands on the Pinnacle. This skill grants him a complete immunity from any kinds of debuffs.

Additionally, he can just as easily remove any of the buffs from the enemies. But the best one is probably his ability to fill up his ultimate move gauge quicker than any other hero in SDS: Grand Cross.

Escanor is an excellent choice for PvP, but he may not be as good in PvE due to a complete lack of any AoE skills.

A-Tier Heroes

Blue King
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Attribute: Speed
  • Location: Chapter 3, Coin Shop

One of King's most distinct skills is his petrification ability. Enemies that are petrified can't receive any buffs, and are basically useless.

Blue King also has one of the strongest AoE attacks amongst all other heroes. That's why he is one of the most sought out characters in the PvE mode. But he can be just as useful in both geared and ungeared PvP.

Unfortunately, his defense abilities are quite subpar and he does require a strong tank to support him.

Red Derieri
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Attribute: Strength
  • Location: Draw Hero

Every team needs a solid tanky character that can soak up a lot of damage. Derieri is that kind of character.

In PvP she is essential against ranged enemies, and in PvE she can perform all kinds of tasks from protecting allies to decreasing damage dealt by the enemies.

Her Combo Star ability allows her to amplify her attacks and deal up to 945% damage to a single target.

Blue Tarmiel
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Attribute: Speed
  • Location: Draw Hero

Here is an anti-tank hero that depletes enemy HP stats making them easier to kill. This is possible due to Tarmiel's Angelic Wrath ability.

He has his own skill that heals allies and his generally high defense stats make Tarmiel an excellent ally in PvP mode. He also possesses an Ark Shield, which he can use to protect allies from various types of damage.

Despite all these advantages, Tarmiel is not as good in any other game mode. But if you mainly play in PvP mode, then Tarmiel is definitely a top-tier choice.

SDS Grand Cross Guide: How to Beat Final Boss Merlin Fri, 10 Jul 2020 10:29:52 -0400 Sergey_3847

Merlin is a new final boss in Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, and she is by far the hardest boss players have ever encountered. She requires a very specific strategy to best..

Merlin is immune to almost all types of damage and on top of that, she is protected by a number of illusions that reflect a huge chunk of damage sent her way.

Follow out guide below, you will be able to beat her in no time.

How to Beat Final Boss Merlin in SDS: Grand Cross

Strengths and Weaknesses

Before making up a team of heroes to defeat Merlin you need to consider her strengths. Merlin is immune to the following types of damage:

  • Stun
  • Freeze
  • Petrify
  • Attack Disable
  • Buff Disable
  • Ultimate Move Damage Dealt Decrease
  • Coerce

Also, Merlin possesses a special buff against Speed and Demon heroes, which you should exclude from your team.

However, she also has one huge weakness: physical defense. This means that Strength-based heroes are the best against Merlin.

Best Team Composition

All four party members of you team should be of the Red color, which indicates their Strength attribute, including the healer:

  • Gowther (Red) — One of the best Strength heroes in SDS: Grand Cross with a huge pool of AoE attacks and enemy debuffs.
  • Escanor (Red) — This is another Strength hero with a very useful Amplify skill, which buffs all of his attacks up to 30% of the base damage.
  • Arthur (Red) — Another excellent hero with a Sever ability, which doubles his chances of getting a critical hit.
  • Elizabeth (Red) — A healer and supporter with the Rejuvenate skill that recovers up to 60% of HP of all allies at the beginning of each turn.
Best Strategy

The battle against final boss Merlin consists of two phases.

First Phase

In the first phase, it is recommended to deal with her illusion allies that reflect damage. If you kill them, the Merlin's defense stat will go down by 40%.

During the battle she will use the following set of attacks:

  • Spear Explosion: Deals damage to 1 enemy and removes 1 ultimate move gauge from the target.
  • Perfect Cube: Creates a barrier that protects all her illusion allies.
  • Exterminate Ray: Deals 540% of damage to 1 enemy and disables attack skills for 2 turns.
  • Tornado Sever: Deals 630% of damage to 1 enemy and disables attack skills for 2 turns.

Here, use Arthur's Royal Blade buff and deal with all illusions at once. The sooner you can activate it the better.

Then, use Arthur's AoE and an ultimate ability of any other character, who is ready to activate it.

Second Phase

This time Merlin will try to freeze you using the following set of attacks:

  • Poison Wave: Deals damage to 1 enemy.
  • Frozen Factor: Freeze the target.
  • Exterminate Ray and Tornado Sever are the same as before.

Arthur's Royal Blade should prevent the freeze effect. Also, use Gowther's Arrow Shot and Amplify on Merlin's allies.

Then, send everything you have at Merlin after you defeat the illusions. The choice of attacks is up to you.

With the help of Gowther's debuffs you should be able to burn Merlin pretty soon.

That's all on how to beat final boss Merlin in Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, and be sure to come back soon for more related guides.

How to Skill Lock in Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross Mon, 09 Mar 2020 13:53:42 -0400 Ty Arthur

Finally available in the west for mobile devices, Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross offers up turn based anime RPG combat with card and gacha elements. Combining skill cards is crucial to success, but there's one element of this system that remains elusive to newcomers: how do you perform a skill lock?

This more than just a combat maneuver to learn, as there's actually a quest to complete a skill lock to earn a free SSR ticket early on, offering a chance at one of the best units in the game.

Unfortunately, the Seven Deadly Sins tutorial offers no indication of what a skill lock actually is or how you are supposed to perform one! Skill locking is significantly easier than you might think though, so let's take a quick look at how its done.

How To Skill Lock In Seven Deadly Sins

Randomized skill cards pop up for any given character in every combat. Normally you pick three cards for each character to initiate a round. That system lets you upgrade a skill by using the same card repeatedly or instead combine different skills to perform an ultimate move.

This is where the skill lock comes in. To perform a Grand Cross skill lock, just don't use all three skill card options for that character during the round. Tap one of the skill cards for the current character to pick that skill, then tap the blank skill card slot next to it.

Leaving card slots empty "locks" the skill and skips its turn. That's all you have to do to perform a skill lock and complete the quest at the end of the combat encounter.

Let us know what hero you pull with your SSR ticket, and give us a shout out below if you need help with any other Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross tips and hints, from tier lists to the best packs to buy for a beginner!
