If you're a fan of Destiny and want some exclusive new gear, then all you need to do is get your hands on a friend. Bungie's new Refer-a-Friend will get Destiny vets a handful of cool rewards. Adventure, earn rewards, and become legends together, just the two of you.

To get yourself and at least one other friend involved, all you need to do is sign into Bungie.net and refer-a-friend. This friend must have an activated version of Destiny: The Taken King on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. You and your friend must be linked on the same platform to earn rewards.

Once you're linked, you'll be able to earn additional XP through the Link of Friendship. The only thing left to do is complete the exclusive Speaker's Quest (below) with your Linked Friend and then reap in the rewards.

The complete list of cool rewards you'll earn by referring a friend to your Link of Friendship consists of the following:

  • Exclusive Speaker's Quest: The Hunt for Loot
  • Link of Friendship XP Bonus Buff
  • Infinite Link shader
  • Sign of the Infinite emblem
  • Elemental Kindblades (three legendary swords)
  • EV-34 Vector Infinite sparrow
  • Duo Dance emote
  • High Five emote

Destiny is available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. This offer is only available for later generation consoles. The game underwent a special November update recently, and is set for a year-two item upgrade come December.

Destiny: The Taken King's raid has a release date https://www.gameskinny.com/7euk4/destiny-the-taken-kings-raid-has-a-release-date https://www.gameskinny.com/7euk4/destiny-the-taken-kings-raid-has-a-release-date Wed, 02 Sep 2015 10:42:30 -0400 mrivera269

Destiny: The Taken King, will launch on September, 15th and will give you three days to assemble your team, acquire some new and improved gear, and max out to level 40 as you took on Oryx in the new raid, The King's Fall. We already knew the raid will go live soon after the release of the game, but now we know that King's Fall goes live on September 18th at 10 am PST, that's 1 pm EST.

Knowing this information should allow you to plan strategically on release. Will three days be enough time for players to max out at level 40? We're going to assume only year one players who have their guardians at level 34, and are able to acquire the appropriate guns will conquer the Taken King Oryx on release day. Little else is known about the raid besides the end boss, and now the release date. We do, however, know it will take place on the Dreadnaught, the new area becoming available in the new expansion.

Only time will tell how difficult the raid will be. Sound off on the comments below about you expect from the new raid.

Bungie is giving Destiny's Nightfall a reboot https://www.gameskinny.com/73urz/bungie-is-giving-destinys-nightfall-a-reboot https://www.gameskinny.com/73urz/bungie-is-giving-destinys-nightfall-a-reboot Thu, 27 Aug 2015 20:07:43 -0400 mrivera269

As we inch closer to launch for Destiny: The Taken King expansion, we are beginning to receive a slew of information from Bungie about major changes coming to the game. One of which today announced, on Bungie's weekly blog update, that the weekly nightfall will be getting a make over.

Any Destiny player will tell you the Nightfall is one of the first things you run after the weekly reset. You wrangle up your team of three friends, or random players from a forum if you're a lone wolf, and you attack the strike with vigor; you plan so to the weekly burns and modifiers and pray to RNGesus you get a Hawkmoon to rub in your friends faces. For hours. And hours. Or until you get booted from the party.

But beyond that, Bungie saw how much fun you've had. They watched cheer, they watched you rage, and they even watched cry. So like any great powerful weapon Bungie has made... they nerfed it.

Yes you read right, the weekly nightfall has been nerfed. Well kinda. Only level 40s can take place in the game type. You will no longer return to orbit when your team fails pathetically and death will have a 30 second time-out penalty similar to a normal raid. And you will no longer get a nightfall buff for completing the strike. You will however get more experience and reputation to make up for it.

So pretty much the nightfall has become the weekly strike. So what happen to the weekly strike? I'm glad you asked; it's gone, but not forgotten. Vanguard Heroic playlist will replace it. This playlist will be similar to the weekly strikes and grant rewards such as legendary marks on account level and not character level. So don't worry about having to run through it with all three of your characters. And they're also no cap to how many legendary marks you may earn. This playlist however will also need your guardian's level to be at 40; and you will recieve a guaranteed legendary engram upon first clear of a weekly heroic strike.

What do you think of these changes coming to Destiny? Are excited for the Taken King? Sound off on the comments below.

You asked, Bungie listened: Destiny Exotic Hand Cannon Patch https://www.gameskinny.com/gipmo/you-asked-bungie-listened-destiny-exotic-hand-cannon-patch https://www.gameskinny.com/gipmo/you-asked-bungie-listened-destiny-exotic-hand-cannon-patch Sun, 19 Jul 2015 19:46:06 -0400 Manisha Hossain

If you've played any Crucible match in Destiny, then you may have encountered the infamous exotic hand cannon trio that lurks in everyones inventory as of late. Thorn, Hawkmoon and The Last Word used to be rare gems in Destiny and rather hard to come by. Obtaining just one of the three were serious goals when playing online. But now, they're just a nuisance that is not only killing countless Guardians but the vibe of PvP as well.

These hand cannons are not only exotic, but seem to be supernatural as well. Being sniped by the Hawkmoon from across the map is not only unfair, but super irritating. Don't even get me on how frustrating Thorn's OP poison feature is. Those deaths still burn. The community has been buzzing about how these guns need to be nerfed, and Bungie is coming in clutch with an upcoming patch.

The Destiny Weapon Tuning 2.0 covers everything from base weapons to exotics. You can read more about those here. As for the daunting trio, here's what's about to change:

The Last Word, infamously known for its over-expansive range

  • The range of this primary is getting slashed in half, going from 20 to 10
  •  When firing from the hip, you'll get an increased accuracy and precision damage aim scale
  • The bugs from Hipfire have been addressed

Hawkmoon, a lucky sharpshooter that can take on a sniper with it's one hit kill

  • There's now a stack limit to Luck in the Chamber and Holding Aces making it so that only 2 of the bonus perks will be available per round.
  • 2 rounds are added to the magazine with Holding Aces unlocked
  • Luck in the Chamber damage bonus is reduced by 3%

Thorn, a poisonous primary that not only stings, but

  • Base damage of Mark of the Devourer's damage over time will be 1/3 of what it was
  • Damage over time will stack up 5x across multiple landed projectiles which will reduce the lethality

Ah, that's more like it. Bungie has always supported its community and looked out for it, which is why I'm not surprised this patch is being done. I love that they take their community seriously and do their best to make everyone happy. The community has been enraged over the hand cannon trio for awhile now, and Bungie is taking action in all the right ways. The patch will be effective when the Taken King is released on, September 15.

Until then Guardian, goodluck with The Unholy Trinity, you got this!

Yesterday, was the official Bungie Day. Every year, on the seventh day of the seventh month, Bungie celebrates their loyal and loving community. This year, it was all things Destiny

It's finally the calm after the storm, and Bungie has been relieved of the controversy they have been drowning in the past few weeks. Bungie announced a rare emblem called the Laurea Prima reserved for year one Guardians.

So what happens if you just got Destiny? You can still make this emblem yours! You just have to pursue and achieve the Moments of Triumph.

Here's what you need to do for each achievement:

    • Apprentice of Light - One character reached the maximum level
    • Light of the Garden - Defeated the dark heart of the Black Garden
    • Light in the Dark - Prevented the summoning of Crota's Soul
    • Light of the Reef - Captured Skolas in the Vex Citadel
    • Bane of Skolas - Defeated Prison of Elders on Hard Difficulty
    • Bane of Atheon - Defeated Atheon on Hard Difficulty
    • Bane of Crota - Defeated Crota on Hard Difficulty
    • Public Servant - Completed 50 Public Events
    • Crucible Gladiator - Won 100 Crucible Matches
    • Chest Hunter - Found all Golden chests

So, what do you say, Guardian, can you prevail in the Moments of Triumph? Bungie believes in you, and so do I. The countdown is set for 2 Months, 2 Days and 7 hours as of now. You have until September 9, 2015 to complete these tasks and the rare emblem will be yours once the Taken King is released.

Happy hunting, Guardians!
